i know lots of you wanted to see screens from WLP2 so here are some from my zoo!

Aw man me too! I really want this game but no place near me has it. (Well, they most likely don't have it anyways. :sweatingb )

Okay, Galapagos Land Iguanas.Those aren't in it? Okay, how about some Green iguanas? No green iguanas. Oh boy, Thats a shocker.

I don't know what kind of land Iguanas you've seen, but i've never seen one with Charcoal and Red scales. The only Iguana like that is a Marine. And the fact that bex (from the WLP2 forum), who you know, said it was a marine iguana. So, i'm gonna go with marine iguana! And if you get the game, and can prove that its not a Marine Iguana, Then so be it.

If this does turn out to be a Land Iguana, then the Creaters of WLP2 truely are completely pathetic.

Post by: Ouch on June 26, 2006, 03:00:05 PM: I'm NEVER getting the game, but I KNOW it is not a Marine Iguana because of the Latin Name. Look at it. Conolophus subcristatus. The Latin name for the Marine Iguana is something TOTALLY different. Even the German name suggests that it is a Land Iguana. Thus meaning it is NOT a Marine Iguana...unless we have someone who is REALLY hopeless at animal identification. Because I'll tell you now, it SHOULD be a Marine.

So, it does turn out you were right. And I apologize for saying otherwise. Looks like Deepsilver screwed up. Again. It seems as if the just flew through this game, without paying attention, or trying to make sure they're getting the right info. I mean, BF has screwed up, but it was only on something very trivial and hard to notice. I mean, they've never gotten the name of an animal wrong (that i know of). After this little conundrum, i'm sticking with good 'ol Blue Fang.

Thats the whole point of a Scientific Name. So no confusion ensues. For example, Paroedura Pictus has multiple "common" names, including Madagascan Ground Gecko, Pictus Gecko, Panther Gecko, Big Headed Gecko and Ocelot Gecko. You see, common names aren't solid. Scientific names are. So from now on, judge by them.

But the scientific name for that particular Oryx is that for what we commonly call a Gemsbok, not an Arabian Oryx. I'm starting to think that Deep Silver did no research on the animal's proper info at all, what with the iguana and pelican confusion.

Yeah, Deep Silver doesn't exactly do great research, as I have seen in WP1, they have about 3-5 facts about the animals and screw around with their names a lot. For example, in the Wild Creatures expansion, when you look at certain objectives of certain scenarios, they kinda mess up the animals name. For example, Adopt 1 Lamma. Or, Adopt 1 Ice Bear, and, Breed 1 Mammonteus primigenius. They spell Llama incorrectly, and I don't know if ice bear is another name for a polar bear, and is mammonteus primigenius another name for the wooly mammoth. (I mean scietific name too.) And the (I'm not even go near marine or land) iguana, is called a saurian? Ok... guess that's another name.

Its nice to see Sabers in the grassland. Nice pics, overall. I just...was really turned off by the Panda. Its arm was all messed up. Out of all the animals, the Saber was my favorite. But, I wont get it. Its not my kind of thing. Ill stick with ZT2

Hello. I'm Matthew McBride. I own a Time portal. yes a REAL time portal that lets you go back in time. I have always thought dinosaurs and mammoths and giant creepys really cool and have always wished they where alive today. Put thease to facts together and what do you get? PREHISTORIC PARK thats what. The ultimate wildlfe sancuatry caring and saving extinct animals is not the best part. Its me who has to rescue them by going through the time portal to when the animals where alive and bring them back through the portal to the saftey of the 21st centuary.

These week we will see the first arrivals come to live saftey and happily. I'm going 3 million years back to catch the most famous extinct cat of all....The Smilodon!

I also want to save a Terror bird which is also going extinct because of the Smilodon invading there territory

So of I go through the time portal and let the adventure begin!

*10 minutes later* they have stopped at this poad here and a jumping in and having a little paddle round to keep them cool.
Toxodon is a genus of mammals, similar to the capybara but now extinct, that lived in the late Pliocene and Pleistocene epochs in South America. Toxodon fossils were studied by Charles Darwin on his voyage on the Beagle. They seem to like swimming and are probly the most hunted by terror birds and smilodons. now lets go get us a terror bird

Lamna: There aren't any actual dinosaurs. No velociraptors, etc. But there are mammoths, smilodons, gastronis, basilosaurus, and entelodonts.

(PS incass you were wondering the reason its still called basilasaurs is because you cant change a scintific name. Other wise there would be alot of confusion.)
