Combining ZTD Files

On your destop create 2 folders. Name 1 Objects and 1 Other, these are the folders you will copy the needed info into to be zipped later.

Now create 2 more folders and name 1 Zip Files and 1 Extracted.

Before going any further open windows explorer and click on Tools/Folder Options/View Tab and uncheck the box beside - Hide extensions for known file types . you will now be able to see all the file extensions mentioned here.

Now you are ready to begin. Copy all the statue ztd files that you have into the Zip Files folder you created on the destop and rename them with the .zip extension (filename.ztd to filename.zip).

When this is done doubleclick on the first zip file to open winzip. Click on Actions in the top menu bar and then on select all so all the files in the zip are highlighted and then click on extract make sure you have the box with - Use Folder Names checked. Navigate to the extracted folder on your desktop and click ok you'll see a green light when the extraction has completed. minimize winzip and open the folder named Extracted on the desktop. you should see 2 folders 1 named objects and 1 named scenery.

open the objects folder. you should see a folder with a number name example: A463798(this is the objects ID number) copy this folder to the folder named Objects you created on the desktop earlier. Now go back to Extracted folder and open the scenery folder. you should see a folder named Other. Open this folder you should see a file named UCS copy this file to the Other folder on the desktop you created earlier . repeat these steps for each zip file in the Zip Folder on your desktop.

When you are done moving all the files and you are ready to complete you combined file create 1 more folder on the desktop and name it Scenery cut and paste the folder named other into the scenery folder you just made.

now you are ready to make your new ztd file click on the Objects Folder now hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and also select the Scenery folder let go of the Ctrl key.(both folders should now be highlighted as selected).

Right click the Scenery folder and select Send To > Compressed(zipped)Folder. at the popup click yes. you should now have a zip file called scenery.

Rename this zip file Combined Statues.ztd When you get the messege asking if you are sure the file may not work just click yes. you are now ready to test your newly made file. First delete all the ztd files that you copied to the zip folder in this case the statue ztd files from the game folder. after you have deleted copy the new file you just made to the game folder. Open the game and test your new file. Now you can do the flowers and then the trees and so on but remember to keep all the same type file together so you don't cause compatability issues that can cause your game to crash.

This may be the long way of doing it and others have shorter ways but this lets you see if there are any duplicate object ID numbers. If you happen to find duplicate ID numbers then we talk to Casey about fixing the problem.
