Same view a few minuters later. This is one of the things I love about ZT2 over ZT1, the skies! :D
Originally posted by zoohio@Aug 27 2005, 04:51 PMThats exactly what I do. I have heaps of foliage but I make it like a "Jungle Clearing"
I like lots of foliage but tend to place it on the outer edges of the exhibit so the animals have a place to hide, and also a place to run, forage and be seen by the guests.
Originally posted by Rosina's Cat@Dec 18 2005, 07:25 AMGreat zoo, Rosina! But, as to the Polar Bears - they're not 'flying' they JUMPING into the water! I've been in the exhibits many times and seen them do that. They LOVE to jump! They jump off the edge of the pond, and off the ice floe itself. I saw one jump over a food trough once. Isn't that odd, since they're so big? Kind of like elephants jumping, I think! :lol
I know this weird thing with polar bears seeming to 'fly' or climb trees that aren't there is nothing new, but that combined with the lovely colours of the water and the sky just make this a nice pic, I think.

Originally posted by Rosina's Cat@Jan 2 2006, 02:36 AMI do this all the time but i find it hard because african only has one rainforest plant
Thanks a lot Wolfclan and ky.
Actually, Wolfclan, what you said about natural looking exhibitis reminds me of a question I was going to ask. With the rainforest exhibits, I am now usually trying to match the foliage to the animal or animals. So with a mixed exhibit, I would put, for example, only African with african animals (eg okapis and lemurs). Then use only African foliage. Does anyone else do this, or is it just me? Sorry if this is a dumb question: maybe everyone is doing this and I am just really slow to catch on! :lol
