I say atempts because I haven't built a real zoo in about a year so bare with me while I take you on what I hope to be an enjoyable tour. There is no real theme to this zoo but there is going to be one large themed area as I get closer to the center of this zoo. I will keep the theme a total surprise and leave that area till the very end so I don't give anything away before the big unveiling.
Enjoy *****Starstruck*****
The Entrance

-
As you look to the left my favorite marine animal plays and entertains all the watchful guests.
(http://img394.imageshack.us/img394/34/belugas20xt.th.jpg) (http://img394.imageshack.us/my.php?image=belugas20xt.jpg)
-
Another view of the lowered viewing area created so guests can have an underwater view.

-
To the right of the entrance are my favorite canine pals the Gray Wolves.
(http://img394.imageshack.us/img394/6163/graywolves48ao.th.jpg) (http://img394.imageshack.us/my.php?image=graywolves48ao.jpg)
-
Walking straight ahead from the entrance is the Entrance Court where visitors can obtain some information on the zoo as well as have a little refreshment at either of the refreshment carts or sit down to a meal at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Working the left side of the zoo you will encounter our tree gnawing Beavers. Guesta can also stop in to the Pizza Hut which is also alongside the Beaver exhibit but out of view of the screenshot. You will see this in later shots as the zoo progresses to the left.

Those are good Yellowrose! I especially like the belugas! :wtg
-
Nice paths !
I like the grey wolf exhibit, and the belugas were very cute :wub
-
Good job! It has been a long time since you have posted any zoo work. Glad you are back at it.
-
:wtg Yellowrose, I see you haven't lost your touch yet.
-
Gorgeous work YR!!! I am glad to see you are building again too!
-
The path used in this zoo was created by genkicoll but I can't remember what site I got it from :hehe I have pretty well all her paths installed in my game at the moment.
-
Love :wub those belugas! You are SOOO good at this,YR!
-
very nice Yellowrose :)
that path is from Zoo Tek i think
-
It is from Tek :) It's the Star Fire path...I actually made a Sun Fire path, as well...now I just need to fix the problems with it so I can release it! :lol
I look forward to seeing more, YR! Makes me want to put aside my designing and start making zoos again! :D
-
Nice work YR, I love that path! Glad to see you back builing! :D
-
Well we left off with the Beavers on the last leg of the tour. We'll start this leg of the tour with the Shark Tunnel. Always a favorite of the guests.
(http://img394.imageshack.us/img394/315/sharktunnel83kd.th.jpg) (http://img394.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sharktunnel83kd.jpg)
-
As guests exit the shark tunnel the stop in at the local Pizza Hut for a bite to eat before climbing the stairs for the Albino Giraffe Observation deck. This is a bit of a walk as the observation deck goes into the exhibit to give guests a better view of these comical characters.
(http://img394.imageshack.us/img394/3760/albinosandpizzahut97ox.th.jpg) (http://img394.imageshack.us/my.php?image=albinosandpizzahut97ox.jpg)
-
A better view of the Albino's and their newest addition to the exhibit arrived just seconds after getting the adults settled in their new home.
(http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/3692/albinogiraffe106mb.th.jpg) (http://img299.imageshack.us/my.php?image=albinogiraffe106mb.jpg)
-
Next to the Albinos you can pop into the snack area and grab a snack and wath the Warthogs from a compfy seat at one of the decks picnic tables while you eat.
(http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/7010/warthogs110qv.th.jpg) (http://img299.imageshack.us/my.php?image=warthogs110qv.jpg)
-
Next up are the playful African Elephants who also gave us a new addition very quickly.
(http://img394.imageshack.us/img394/2929/africanelephants126mq.th.jpg) (http://img394.imageshack.us/my.php?image=africanelephants126mq.jpg)
-
To get to the next area of the zoo you can walk around or take a quick shortcut through the African Elephant Observation Walkway.
(http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/8122/elephantobservation139gm.th.jpg) (http://img299.imageshack.us/my.php?image=elephantobservation139gm.jpg)
-
Once accross the walkway you can watch the hippos swim and frolic in the water. Or visit the first of the zoo's gift shops or enjoy a dinner for 2 at the Ali Baba Dining Emporium.
(http://img394.imageshack.us/img394/971/hippopotumus149ct.th.jpg) (http://img394.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hippopotumus149ct.jpg)
-

I like the corner garden too!
-
oooh - VERY nice, Rose! I especially like the Mexican restaurant (y'all). :lol I just love genki's paths, too. You sure build a good zoo!
-
Looking great, YR! I really like the play area with the....red...thingy? What is that? :P
Oh, and thanks to this thread I corrected the Sun Fire Path and released it :P Thanks for the nudge, I'd completely forgotten about it! :lol
-
The play area is made up of one of Sundances newest arches from her latest arch pack release at ZKL the Hardees pack fence and my new Red Prizm Path.
No problem Genki will give you a nudge anytime you think you may need one
-
Well a little more building and a little more tour.
Continuing along the back wall of the zoo you can enjoy the Floral Clock and stop in to the Zoo Bookstore and pick up a copy of your favorite animal book, then lounge outside the store on a cozy bench for a little reading before you continue your tour.
(http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/3578/bookstoreandfloralclock274pl.th.jpg) (http://img520.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bookstoreandfloralclock274pl.jpg)

129 benefactors?!?!?! I can see why!!! I love all of the vibrant colors and the beautiful terraces!!! I wish I could visit this zoo in real life!!! Keep up the great work Master Zoo Builder!!!
-
With the switch in forum software the pics for this zoo did not move over. All the pics for this zoo have been reloaded so you can again tour this zoo's progress. I will be doing a little building over this weekend and hope to add some more tour pics for you to give a little feedback on.
-
Thanks for reloading the pics! Your zoo building efforts are an inspiration! I can't wait to see what you build next!!!
-
Those are awsome pics YellowRose, I wish I could do what you do. =0) Beluga's are my favorite too. I got to go in the tank and play with beluga's for a graduation present a couple of years ago and its an experience I won't ever forget!!! (Mystic Aquarium, RI). Thanks so much for sharing your talent!!!
-
You are definately on a roll with this zoo girlfriend!! So, where's the big finish, huh??? What, no surprise ending as promised?! Shame on you (just kidding  ) Can't wait to see more of it when you get time.
Keep Building!! :blushing:
-
The path is very interesting [not my fave.], but this is such a great zoo! You kept the theme going throughout all of the exhibits and your guests are really happy. Keep it up!
-
Attempt......yah right those are better than anything i can and will ever make
-
That is awsome  I wish I was that good at seanery!
-
When I find where I saved all the ztd's and the saved game for Starstruck I'll continue on with additions.
I'm sure there are a good many of you were aware of my recent loss of internet for the last month. Well when you suffer from site withdrawls like I did not being able to get to ZA all that often you improvise. I did a little building recently and will add more as time permits between catching up on all the news from here at ZA and catching up on the Directory site as well.
For now this is what I have done on a new zoo not yet named.
First pic is of the entrance.
-
Accross from the entrance is the Zoo Admin Administration building where guests can obtain information about the zoo and take a look at the zoo maps to see what area they would like to visit first.
-
To the right of the entrance is a favorite of quite a few ZA members and a good many of the zoo guests as well the Albino Giraffe. These guys love their roomy enclosure and gave birth just after placement but I didn't get the screen until after the baby became an adult.
-
To the left of the entrance is the Przewalski's Wild Horse with a somewhat private raised viewing area.
-
Next the carosel was added with a raised garden rest area.
-
Next to the carosel a Gift shop was added to give guests the opportunity to purchase zoo souveniers.
-
Next the Saltwater Croc and a snack area were added along with the log flume to give the kiddies visiting the zoo a little added fun.
-
I then went back to the other side of the ZA Admin Building and added the Rainforest Cafe so guests can enjoy a liesurly dinner while touring the zoo. Touring makes for hungry guests even in real life...: :P :
-
Next and the last pic for now are my much loved Beluga Whales. It wouldn't be a Yellowrose created zoo without these adorable mammals. They have a special sunken viewing area so guests can see what goes on below the surface. Even with high tank walls these viewing areas still offer guests the best vantage point for viewing underwater antics.
-
those are amazing pics
-
That's an awesome start to your great zoo, YR!! I love my Albino Giraffes in their wonderful home....what a great zookeeper you are  The raised garden area near the carousel is quite lovely too! However, viewing that pathway  especially when you're tired...not quite priceless!! :woot: Just Kidding!!! Ya know I loves ya...and your zoo too!!
Keep Building!
-
Wow! I must say, these are the best zoo tycoon 1 zoos I have ever seen!! (no offense against other ZT builders, of course). They are so colourful, and i would defenetly go there if I were a guest!! Great job, Yellowrose!!!
-
:surprise: I don't know how I missed this! It's great to see new and amazing pictures from Yellowrose! I love all of your exhibits, especially the belugas and the nice viewing area for the crocs. The log flume looks really nice next to them. Great to see your pics!
-
Wow yelowrose! your zoos are FANTASTIC! I love the way you use downloads, and that path + that zoo= UH-MAY-ZENG =D
-
Oh my, Yellowrose, I must apolgise for not seeing this thread sooner! I am guilty of not looking in zt1 as often as I should...:blushing:
But these pics...wow!! Such gorgeous colourful paths! You should rename the thread 'Yellowrose's Amazing Artistry!
-
I have to agree with Rosina on the name change need - your zoos are always amazing! I  the Carousel area especially!
-
Off Topic Sorry,
But you have a buliding for ZA ?
Or maybe i miss understood.
:easter2
:dolphin :offtopic:
-
Yellowrose...i have to say it.
Your zoos are really inspiring, you've made me install the game again. You're one of the greatest zoo builders i've seen since i am in the community. Keep the good work.
-
Well thank you very much. Glad I could get you to reinstall and play again.
I did notice that all the pics I last posted were no longer available :eggcry so I just reposted the pics :egggrin so you can all enjoy them again. When I get some free time I will build some more on this zoo and post some new pics for all of you to enjoy.
:yr1: :easter1
-
Thank You Yellowrose for reloading those pics. I did not get to see them untill today. You make such colorful and beautiful zoos. I'll be looking for more pics from you!
-
Well I took a little break form being a webmaster and from a training course I am doing for work and got you guys some more pics today.
Almost forgot where I had left off in the pics so I could continue the tour with you all. But a quick going over the zoo made that easy to pick up. You see I had done some more building on this and took a couple of pics but with my move and the site moves had forgotten about them and was just to busy to get back to this until today after seeing there is still interest in seeing this one progress.
So I won't keep you waiting any longer.
I believe we left off with my beloved Beluga whales in the last portion of the tour. Heading right into the left corner we have the comical and loveable African Elephants.
-
Next to them I added another snack area and some extra decorations to help keep all the guests happy and give them something else of interest to see while visiting.
-
Next comes a building maybe in an unusal spot but I like to vary where things are placed and just give them something different then maybe what may be the feature theme of the area.
The Fossil house served that need in this area.
-
oops forgot an addition.
Just before the Fossil house we have the majestic Manta Rays. There smoth movements have a way of calming a spirit when watched for long periods.
-
Behind the Fossil House and next to the manta ray we have my favorite Bird the Peafowl or Peacocks as I know them. These birds are usually free raoming in most real zoos. And they are quite friendly at the African Lion Safari Park I frequent here in Ontario and you are even able to hand feed these beautiful avian creatures.
-
I zoomed in on the peafowl exhibit so I could get you a close up shot of this great display of the male feathers.
-
Next to the peafowl are another of my favoite big cats the White Tigers. This game does not do these gorgeous cats justice. These cats are much more beautiful when seen up close in a real zoo.
-
Back behind Mantas and the Peafowl I have added 2 more buildings for guest interest. By the Mantas is the Deep Sea Aquarium where guests can gain information on deep sea creatures like the manta and the orca and others.
-
Accross from the Peafowl we have the Rainforest Restaurant where guests can again grab a tasty meal on their day long tour.
-
-
Overview 2 is of the area to the left of the entrance
-
Overview 3 is of the area to the right of the entrance
-
Overview 4 is of the area on the left heading into the middle left area of the map and the area I worked on today. If I remember right I am using a large sized map for this zoo so there will still be lots to see as it progresses towards it's completion. If I get some more spare time will add some more and get you all some more pics.
-
Wooooooooo Hoooooooooo!!! New pics from the Boss Lady!! Wow, that's some zoo you've got going there YR!! I love all those great paths, perfect springtime colors to match our Easter :egggrin! You are definately off to another great zoo- :goodjob: Can't wait to see more pics!!
Keep Building! :construct:
-
Thanks Lady Z.
The rainbow colored path is one of Genki's creations and the solid blue one is one I have done but not yet released. It along with a about 20 others I have done will be released later when the download uploading is complete. I may yet use another of my newer path creations as I get to the rear areas of the zoo. I like to keep continuity going with the pathways in the zoo and don't like to vary it to much but might use this zoo to somewhat showcase some of my new creations.
I already have plans for a new zoo on a med or large map to showcase a new expasion pack I am working on for all of our Zoo Tycoon 1 fans. This expasion so far just in buildings and objects has about 100 items in it. :eggwoot 2 of the buildings are quite large and will be working attractions for zoo guests while some of the others will remain just scenery items to decorate with. This expasion includes as mentioned buildings, but also includes gardens, paths, lamps, and a lot of decorator scenery to beautify the area with the theme I have used for this expanstion. The only hint I will give to the curious is that it is fantasy related and a lot of the colors are green and black. Now that your minds are twirling and your anticipation up I will not :eggno say another word until it is announced. :eggwhistle :rofl2: :eggevil
-
Very nice zoo Yellowrose! This is a large map? Well I guess we are going to get to see a lot more from you! Expantion Pack? Who says ZT1 is over? Not you that's for sure. I'm looking forward to seeing this pack!
-
I know what it iiisssss... :neneh
-
-
So much colour! This thread is a joy to browse through, Yellowrose. Each zoo is even better than the last!
-
Soory guys new pics will be a few more days in coming. Downloads are keeping me a little busy at the mement along with real life. Will do waht I can in the next few days to have something new for you.
-
It's great to see you building! I love all the colours and the design, especially around the peafowl exhibit and rainforest restaurant! :surprise:
No rush, real life comes first! We can be patient, I think... :P
-
I don't think "Attemps of artistry" is a good title for you... :eggsmile
how about "Works of Art" ? =D
These are simply Fantastic! =) I love that peafowl exhibit *SOO much hastle in Zt2 >_>*
and thsoe are some AMAZING stats! I could never do that well =o
keep building! I can't wait to see more! ^_^
-
Lots of new additions made to this zoo in a building blitz to day. Now where did I leave off last time.
Ummmm your right the lat single pic was of the Rainforest Cafe.
Well between the Rainforest Cafe and the Deep Sea Aquarium I had that thisn space to fill so added anothe variety of Rainforest creature who made them selves right at home.
The Okapi
-
Then came a little guest retreat around the Goldfish Pond.
-
Have to add a little fantasy to the zoo and what fit that better then the elusive Unicorn.
-
Next came the one of the many comediens in this zoo the Orangutans.
-
Had to have a little snack break after laughing so hard at the Orangs so time to have a little rest in this quaint little stop.
-
Once the snacks are done you can take a wander through the Rainforest Petting Zoo or the Insect House.
-
Even kids need somewhere to let off some steam and take a break from the walking so they have their very own play area where they can have a little extra fun.
There are 2 pics here one with the foliage and one without.
-
Well after getting overheated with all that playing it's time to do a little cooling off while they visit the Emperor Penguins.
-
Or Pay a visit to Magnet the Polar Bear. This building blitz netted the zoo a whole bunch of babies including polar bear babies.
-
Keeping with the chill out theme we have the Arctic Wolves and their babies. And the human kiddies can take a ride on the Sleigh Ride.
-
From one extreme to the other. Pay a Visit to the Sckemet Restaurant in the heat of the desert.
-
Wrapping itself around the restaurant is the Dromedary Camel Ehibit and yes they had babies too.
-
Filled a small area here with the Mexican Wolf and they had babies too.
-
Next came the Gemsbok and as soon as these guys went into their exhibit the babies appeared. Boy these guys breed fast.
-
OOPS forgot to take a pic so will edit later to add it here.
I then added the Chimps.
-
Next I filled the last little corner in this area with the Bison and again babies came a short time after.
-
At this point I went on a baby hunt and looky what I found.
Beluga baby
P Wild Horse. I can't spell that tonight.... :neneh
-
Even the Whit Tigers had cubs
-
Getting pretty close the the back wall of the Zoo with this one but added and Orca Show and the Orca home tank. And again another baby
-
Had another empty spot to fill so what fits better then the Shark Tunnel both with and without foliage.
-
Inbetween the Orca Show and the Unicorns there was a small empty spot just asking for something yummy to be added so why not everyone's favorite snack. PIZZA . Take a break and enjoy a good feed at the local Pizza Hut.
-
Rather then writing out all the stats after this building blitz I thought a screenshot cropped might be nice so did both the Zoo Stats and the Awards this Zoo has been blessed with. Including a Zoo of the Year Award that came with a 150,000 Bonus. Look at all those benefactors. WOW I've never had that many in a zoo before.
-
I have some more overviews of this but think I'll leave them till the end and post a final set of overviews of the complete Zoo.
I finally figured out a name for this Zoo. With all the baby additions and the majprity of this zoo being built in the last few weeks I thought it fitting to call this one the Spring Babies Zoo.
I'll have some more picks in a few days. I've played hooky long enough and now it's time to get back to looking after ZA & the Directory for a bit.
See you all soon with some more additions and picks of a planned Marine area adding to the Orca area in this Zoo.
-
Wow! Great pics, Yellowrose! Can't wait to see more!
-
Great job Yellowrose! Especially like the Unicorn and Desert exhibits.
-
Building blitz? Yeah, that would be accurate! You have been busy indeed! Very nice pics Yellowrose. I look forward to seeing your overviews! :goodjob:
-
Awesome YR! It's all so pretty! :yr1:
-
Well I finished off this Zoo last night and have the rest of the pics along with final stat screens as well. So without making you wait any longer we'll continue where I left off.
I started off by finishing the back right corner of the zoo with a Marine area. Not one of my better designs and could have done with a bit more planning but here goes.
Added in the California Sea Lions next to the Arctic Wolves
-
When I had stopped I had already added the Atlantian Gift shop and had an idea of how I wanted the area to look so added in the tanks.
Here is the Atlantian Gift Shop without all the tank walls raised and the second pick is with the tank walls raised and all foliage visable.
-
First tank to be filled was the Green Sea Turtles
-
Next added in the Narwhals
-
West Indian Manatees were also added
-
The Bottlenos Dolphins went into the last tank in this area.
-
This completed the back right corner so it was time to move on the back left corner where there was quite the bit of space yet to fill.
I started by filling in an area that was empty behing the orca tank by adding a Restaurant, The regular Petting Zoo, the Aviary, and the Insect House
-
After doing this it gave me a pretty well squared off area to work with so I went to the front part of the area and near to the duck pond added in the first of the Savanaha area animals with the Thompsons Gazele
-
Next to be added were the Olive Baboon
-
I continued to work along the outside wall adding in exhibits with the African Lion and of course the added new additions right away.
-
Next cam the Mexican Restaurant on a raised platform to give a little hieght so you can imagine guests watching the animals while dining.
-
The Black Bucks make the farthest back corner their home with a good sized exhibit. It's most likely obvious to you all be now I like to provide large exhibits for the animals so they have plenty of room come breeding time and I don't have to run around selling off animals because the exhibits are big enough to support any additions.
-
oops guess I started this off a little backwards... :rofl2: I added the Mountain lions and then added the buildings that fill in at the back of the Orca tank.
Anyway the Mountain lions found 100% happiness in their new home.
-
The Giraffe were also added and as soon as they had been put in the exhibit they had a little one and it all occurred in the time it ook me to turn the map and zoom in to take the screenshot so you not only see their exhibit but their new addition as well.
-
The empty spot behind the Thompsons and near to the Girrafe became home to the Zoo Bookstore and the Virginia Reel Rollercoaster.
-
Next the Cretacea(sp) House was added.
-
And in the last area I added in the Japanese Garden to just add to the color already prominent in this zoo. I love color that's for sure :rofl2:
-
Super colorful and well planned! I especially like the contrast of the blue path with the Savannah exhibits.
-
-
A special pic for LadyZ's grandson that African Elephant baby.. They are so cute.
-
Before posting the overviews here is the pic of the Chimps exhibit omitted in the earlier posting of this zoo.
-
Now for the Overviews of this zoo. We start on the right side of the zoo with the first 3 pics.
-
The first pic is of the far back right corner and then we move to the middle right and work forward with the 3 pics.
-
Next 2 pics show the entrance and left front corner
-
Last 2 overviews are of the left middle and left back corner.
-
The last pics I have are of the awards this zoo has recieved and the rating stats as well as the final stats for the zoo. It doesn't show but this zoo has had over 10,000 visitors since the building began.

With this zoo now complete the next one to be posted will be a showcase zoo to show you what I have been designing over the last year. The 2 main buildings for this expansion are not yet configured and there is still some designing left to do on this, but so far I have close to 100 items designed and put together for this expansion.
I would also like to take this time to thank Brad - MidwestboyinLA from RCT*Mart for his permission to use his created RCT scenery designs to make this expansion.
In the world of Fantasy we deal with many things. Unicorns, Fairy's, Gargoyles, Witches and Wizards.
Well that should wet your whistles for a little while :rofl2: I won't be posting any teasers but will post the zoo when it is complete so you can all see what this designer has been up to in between site moves and working. Most of the designing for this took place last year when I was home and off work for 6 weeks due to some needed surgery.
Keep your eyes open and pop back in. You never know when this will be sprung on you. :neneh

Earl I'm not sure if I posted this earlier with this zoo or not but that blue path is a new creation called Blue Passion that will be released soon along with quite a few other paths I have created. With the staff trying to get the files transfered thought I would also wait till the current files are complete before adding anything new I have also created. There is currently 2 new buildings that mathch in with the western anniversary releases that will be released along with the paths I have finished and possibly a few flowerbeds I have finished that I was going to combine into another flower collection but may release them on their own.

Yellowrose loves color? What ever gave THAT impression? Must be because her zoos are always so colorful. Of maybe it's her wonderful ability to mix and match colors that give it away! Nice work as always Yellowrose. I'm really looking forward to seeing this new pack. It sounds impressive!
