First off, my savannah-themed zoo. Not very far. But I've got lots of money to spend. Started with basic grass map.

To all of you experienced zoo builders, this probably looks very plain. But my zoos aren't usually very guest-oriented. Often there are no paths, just exhibits and guests wandering freely. More pictures coming soon [unless the lions eat them].

Hippo Exhibit: The suitability won't go above 82-83 but there's still a baby, and they're pretty happy, too. Also added a statue. Guests flock to statues and they were making my lions nervous [there's one over there too], so I thought I'd even out the traffic. : http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/7637/zoo0031nc.png

I upped my admission price to $100 and there's still 100+ guests.

Rest Area: For those weary travellers. I downloaded some zoos earlier and these flowers came with one of them. I was looking for something decorative and fell in love with these. I don't usually build zoos like this, but I'm having fun. I think I'm going to try new things more often now.

Rhino Exhibit: Added a Black Rhino exhibit by the pyramid. In this picture you can see the viewing area and lion statue. Also looked at a few guest thoughts, and noticed that they said, "This area is quite lovely." That's a first for me.: :) : : http://img350.imageshack.us/img350/9761/zoo0114um.png

This was started on a small grassy zoo with billions of dollars [I edited the game file so I have billions in starting cash].

I really like this design for the zoo. There's the elevated walkway running the length of the zoo, and exhibits on either side. In this one I only used two, but that can easily be changed. : :) :

Post by: RedNotDead on July 06, 2006, 11:26:14 PM: very nice but could you possibly use jpeg for your picutres insted of png as some people have been reporting problems with seeing your pictures as they take a long time to load for those without broadband or very fast interent connections.

Post by: Renee on July 06, 2006, 11:59:36 PM: I don't save them as .png. I take snapshots in the game with the snapshot icon, and upload them directly from the screenshots folder to Image Shack. In the screenshots folder they're .bmps, and I don't know how to make Image Shack stop converting them.

Post by: genkicoll on July 07, 2006, 07:10:14 PM: Don't sell yourself short, Renee :) My early exhibits weren't nearly as nice as yours - I've been doing this for several years now - since it first came out. I have a set formula that I use for almost all of my zoos. I tend to make things very ordered, and the wild, natural-looking exhibits are something I'm having to train myself to do ^__^

@Everyone: I'm working on a new zoo, but I'm not going to post pictures until I'm done with it. It's pretty fancy [for me], and I like how it looks. I'm only going to put in 2 more exhibits [that's all I have space for] and then I'll post pictures. It's kind of strange though: I put in some moose, and then I get the diverse species award/plaque thing. I go back and count how many species there are in the zoo, and there's only 8. But I'm not complaining. Who turns down a cash bonus?

I like the way you've decorated your zoo, it looks very nice :)

Oh, and it's not the exhibits themselves I make "ordered", it's the layout of the zoo. I'll be posting some more shots later, and you'll probably see what I'm talking about :P

Post by: Renee on January 21, 2007, 08:52:49 AM: So here are pictures of this new zoo that I just made. It's called Bones (because I'm a HUGE fan of the T.V. show and it was on my mind when I was thinking of a name). It's done on one of the premade maps; 5mil starting cash.

After coming through the gate, you turn to your left to find the hippos (http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/6541/zoo0088rh.jpg) (I named them Hodgins & Angela).

Seeing nothing else, you turn to your left, and see a family of tapirs (http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/1732/zoo0078bx.jpg) (their names are Booth and Brennan, and the baby is Parker).

Continuing along, you find Asian Elephants (http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/2984/zoo0066ms.jpg) (their names are Zach, Goodman, Cam, and Tessa).

If you're a fan of the T.V. show, have fun laughing at my obsessiveness :blushing: , and for everyone else, enjoy. I'm also taking requests. For now, keep it jungle or African savannah. I've already put in some Bengal tigers, I just don't have pictures yet.

Here (http://img267.imageshack.us/my.php?image=zoo011wa4.jpg) is more of the main entrance pretty-ness place with more Chinese statues. I felt orderly when I made this, thus the symmetry.

My three unusually picky Okapis (http://img250.imageshack.us/my.php?image=zoo012yz7.jpg) (without foliage).

Two Bengal Tigers (http://img250.imageshack.us/my.php?image=zoo013mz5.jpg). They seem happy.

About the requests...Can I have four Gemsbok?? (One male and three females) And could they be called Bakari (male), Dalia (female), Kamaria (female), and Zuwena (female).
