After completing my dino exhibits, I picked up the Complete Jurassic Zoo: Gold Stegosaurs award. At this point my dolphin show has generated $15,000.00 in revenue (I need $20,000.00 to win the award) so I started construction on my Orca show.

Great zoo so far! Never thought of doing that with the shark tunnel before!
You're well on your way to all those awards :D

PS: -  how is it that the Apatosaurus isn't escaping and running rampage round your zoo with only a chainlink fence to stop it?

My guess is that the growned is lowered so it would prevent that??? Same deal with the Allosaurus..

Sloth_bear 77 guess is correct - I lowered the exhibit two levels which prevents them from escaping, and it doesn't matter what kind of fence you use - that's why I used the cheap chain link fence. I used this technique with Apatosaurus, Allosaurus, Camptosaurus, and three other dino's

More pictures and updates later tonight.

After completion of my Orca show, I started putting in more savannah based animal exhibits (the goal is to put all the savannah animals in to achieve another award).

I started my with my favorite savannah animal the Lion. I also did one of my favorite exhibit layouts, I took the insect house and placed in the middle of where the lion exhibit was going. I then raised it up two levels and put stairs in the front, and I also placed a walkway in so you can walk around the entire perimeter of the building.

At the rear of the building I created a viewing platform, and I then placed the fencing for the exhibit which completely surrounded the insect house with the exception of it’s entrance

The exhibit building process is going much slower now. After I build two exhibits, I need to go around and do animal maintenance, mainly selling off animals because of exhibits getting overcrowded. After placing in the Lions, I built exhibits for cheetah’s, zebras and gazelles. While in the process of doing this I picked up another award. I have 1000 guests in the zoo, so I picked up the Most Popular Zoo: Gold Certificate and additional 25,000.

Like your insect house :wtg

I never realised that you could stop dinos escaping by sinking the ground slightly - like Rosina's Cat says, I may have to go back to ZT1 and try some of these ideas out!

Thanks alloy61

The next exhibits I placed were the African wild dogs, ostriches, and olive baboons. My cash is hovering around $575,000.00 to $625,000.00, so from a money standpoint I will be able to complete this challenge, which was something I was concerned about when I started it. I was concerned about it because I wasn’t using any hacks, user created buildings (some of which bring in huge dollars), was paying for all the research, and had to build over 50 exhibits to get all the awards. I grown accustomed to giving myself about 1.5 million dollars when I do a large freeform game, so money isn’t a problem. I probably should have started with $200,000.00 instead of $500,000.00 to make it a lot more challenging.

The next exhibits I placed were Ankylosaurus and Triceratops which are savannah based dino’s, to keep working towards the savannah award. After setting up these exhibits, I picked up the last Dino award: Quality Dinosaur Care: Blue Ribbon which came with an additional $50,000.00. While doing these exhibits, I noticed my zoo rating was 97, which for me is unusually high when I have a zoo with marine shows.

You really know what you're doing here; you have more money than you started with after all that construction.  Great job!  I've really enjoyed watching this project develop and must admit I'm a little jealous.  My computer  simply can't handle a large map without major lag time.  I've never been able to complete more than about half of a large zoo before the poor thing gives up.  :happy

Keep up the good work!  :wtg

Thanks guys

My Orca show is now approaching the $15,000.00 I need to acquire the award, so I placed in the sea otter exhibit and show.

After completing the sea otter show, I went back to building the savannah exhibits. I have to build six more savannah exhibits before I pick up the award. I decided to do two sections of three exhibits. The first one with a picture listed below included: Leopard, Warthog, and Blackbuck exhibits.

After doing some more animal maintenance, I put in the last three savannah exhibits which are: Hippo’s, Flamingo’s and the Red Kangaroo. I picked up the Excellence in Savannah Exhibit Construction award.

My stats up to this point are:

Zoo Awards: 26
Zoo Rating: 96
Guest Happiness: 97
Animal Happiness: 97

Cash: $716,767.00
Zookeepers: 8
Scientist: 4
Marine Specialists: 5
Maintenance Workers: 5

Total Exhibits:42
Total Animals: 204
Year: 5

Two big reasons for the higher than expected cash balance is:

Profit from compost heap: $292,000.00

Profit from the Swim Shack: $31,148.00    but more importantly right next to it is a Restaurant: $202,776.00

The swimmers get hungry and thirsty and boost my Restaurants profits up.

Coming down to the homestretch now, the sea otter show is now very near to the $10,000.00 and the 27th award. So I put in the sea lion show ( I need to get $5,000.00 on this show to acquire the award)

I had extra room in the zoo, so while I was waiting to aquire my last award, I put in primate island (pictued below). The island is surrounded by a croc exhibit, and on the island itself I have three primate exhibits and the primate house

Great, Great, Great job!!!  And congrats on the great stats and all of the awards! :wtg  What type of fencing did you use for the flamingo exhibit???  How long has the zoo been running?
I can't wait to see what else you put in this zoo!
Now that you've gotten all of the awards in 1 zoo, what's your next challenge going to be?
Keep up the great work Master Zoo Builder!

I had a long narrow part at the rear of the zoo, so I put in a rainforest cat walk. All the cats from the rainforest section, and the all the exhibits are lowered down. I plan on putting in Trex and few other animals later.

The screenshot below (the portion I did) is the other half of what genkicoll's posted earlier on her thread. It's from a recently completed contest, in which we took turns completing 1/4 section of a small zoo. We didn't know who are partner was until the end and our section only was allowed savannah animals.
