Rosina's Cat's ZT1 Zoos
« on: October 22, 2006, 04:12:32 AM »
Oh boy. This is scary. I'm a ZT2 person, so I am really outside my comfort zone here. But I have built a small zoo, all-rainforest, so I thought I'd show you guys the pics I have taken. Please be nice to me!!:paperbag:

At the entrance is a small exhibit with some beautiful butterflies.

Just so the guests know there aren't just animals in the zoo, but other entertainment as well, I have put an I-Max theater near the entrance. : :) :

Although most animals in the zoo are very modern, there are some that are pre-historic! The caudipteryx are my favourite zt1 dino!

When I was browsing through the ZT1 downloads here at ZA, I found so many great animals. Here is a good example. In fact there were a few tapirs to choose from. We are so lucky here!!

Here is another entertainment place for the guests. Hmm, not sure about Jungle petting zoo, though. Could be scary! Looks nice, though!: :) :

Hmm, what next. OK, how about these guys. They have one of the bigger exhibits in the zoo, and they seem to like it.

As you can see, they are next to the restaurant. I love the golden elephant statue!

These guys were a problem. Because I wanted to use the stone/window fence throughout, I had to improvise a bit. So I have the iron bar fence to stop the chimps escaping, surrounded by the stone fence for the appearance! The guests seem ok about it, surprisingly.:whistling

Last pic for now. A nice guest area. And the adoption centre is such a money maker!!: :) :

I will post more pics when I have another zoo to show you. May be a while....

Thanks, Bengal Tiger. But WOW!! Thats a really hard question. I am using so many downloads its pretty ridiculous, actually! One thing for sure, they are all from here at ZA. I know the butterflies were part of a 'Malayan Tapir and friends' download, so they might have been tricky to find. But I think everything else is fairly easy to find in the downloads section.

But if there is anything specific you are looking for, by all means pm me and I will try to find a link for you!: :) :

Thanks again - I wan't sure if these pics were worth showing....

Great work Rosina! The whole theme looks great - way better than my attempts at ZT1

Neat idea with the chimps too, it would never have occurred to me to try that

I almost fell over when I read this topic title as I am not sure I have ever seen you build a ZT1 zoo!
Excellent job!
I never have problems with the chimps since I learned not to place the trees on the side of the exhibit. And speaking of trees, I love all the palms everywhere.

I don't why you where so worried about showing pics of your zoo Rosina. It looks great:thumbsup:. I love how you used the palm trees as a border throughout the zoo.

Thanks a lot, everyone.

Mika, you know me too well!!:wicked:

And zoohio, I know putting trees in the middle of the exhibit is the answer, but I just like putting them about more randomly; so I have to be inventive with the fences!

And as for the border of palms, zoohio and sheltiefan, its an idea I use in ZT2 a lot. I'm not very imaginative, you see; once I get one idea, it has to last a long time! lol

I probably wont be able to post any new pics til next weekend. I am sort of thinking about doing another small zoo, just while I get used to ZT1 building again - maybe savannah and desert, or MM, I can't decide....: :) :
