Game Closes After Hitting "Play"

I need some help. I installed zoo tycoon 2 and everything went great until I clicked on the icon. nothing happens at all.so I re-inserted the cd it takes me to the first menu with play, uninstall, web connestion andregister online. once I click play the menu closes out and nothing happens. I don't know what to do please help

Maybe it just takes a long time to start up. Have you tried waiting for a while to see if it comes up later?

I waited 10 minutes and nothing came up.I tryed restarting it and trying it again and nothing

Sounds like it didn't complete the installation. Normally, the game just starts right up. Why don't you try and re-install it? :whistling

I did that already and I got the same thing. it says its installed. but nothing happens when i click on it.

Then I think it's time to call MS. They put a 'game' 800-number on the inside of the box. I think MS would be the best to help you on this, if it says it's installed. Sorry.: :

I think its the CD becuase I just downloaded the demo/trail version and it worked fine which means its not my comp thats the problem. so it must be the CD which is 2 years old. older hen my PC. i'll just go to the store after christmas and buy the zookeepers collection.

Well that'll work, but I would suggest calling MS first. :original:

Make sure you go in to cp files and remove  all zt2 files  beforre installing or it might get stuck in the same place . And remove the trile first  do A surch for missing files to make sure thay are all gone then install .If there are  parts of files still in their they must be removed

if you really think its your cd then try to find a no-cd fix for it. if it really is the cd then with the no-cd fix it will start right up.

I have renamed this thread as so many threads named "help" is confusing, and your question may be answered faster with a more telling title. As for your problem, try installing as an Administrator, or to the default install location.

same thing is happening with mine. but i have all the expansions, and i just reinstalled the game, and tried to open the zt2, without any of the expansions. so its a bug, but idk what is wrong with it.
