Animal Exhibit Designing
« on: January 15, 2007, 03:26:53 PM »
Hello Everyone!

Nearly my favorite part of ZT2 is designing and landscaping animal exhibits! Now you can request an animal (one every other day please) for me to design an exhibit for. Please include Name of Species, Name of Animal, Number of Animals, and Sex of Animals!

I have ZT2, ES, and MM. I also have a handful of downloaded animals:
Fishing Cat, Persian, Leopard, Iberian Wolf, King Cheetah, Eurasian Badger, Domestic Donkey, Caracal, Small Eared Zorro, Mongolian Wild Erm, Donkey :original: , Grey Fox and Aldabra Giant Tortise.

PLEASE, only one or two animals every other day! One day you suggest the animal, the next day I will post pictures; after I posted pictures for that exhibit, then you may suggest another animal.  (And on days I am not very busy, I might get 2 or 3 animals in, just remember to wait for the pictures to come out before suggesting another!)

Thank you and I can't wait for the first animal!
~Morgan

Please everyone respect the wishes of our zoo builder and stop requesting animals until she has made the first ones. In her first post she says:

So let's try to be nice. Everyone will get a chance I'm sure

And MoFish, I have a question: how do you have the Small-Eared Zorro without AA?

The E. Wolf uses the Gray wolf's animations, I think that is how you can have the S-E Zorro without AA ;)

I kind of expected this to happen but that is okay! I will try to get all 4 of them done this afternoon (central time).
Did the small eared Zorro require AA? I did not see that but I downloaded it anyway and it works!

I was really busy today so I only did the Caracal and the Aldabra Giant Tortiose. :sweatingb

http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m99/MoFish_11525/Exhibits/caracal1.jpg
Here is the Caracal: they can be found in scrub, desert, and savannah with small forests; they are really good at hiding so they have their "lairs" in the mist of a small forest; they are also very territorial so each pair has their own meat and cave, which is slightly divided by a water feature.

http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m99/MoFish_11525/Exhibits/AGT2.jpg
http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m99/MoFish_11525/Exhibits/AGT1.jpg
Here is the Aldabra Giant Tortiose: they can be found in grassland, scrub and wetland areas; in captivity they eat apples bananas and grasses but in the wild they like to eat leaves, grasses, and branches; they are also good swimmers so a pond was added.

My favorite exhibit to make was the AGT because its exhibit flowed much more nicely and the mangoves and pond make the plain grassland exhibit more interesting. Another thing I liked is that I used the big Oak Tree and placed apples around it so it resembled an apple tree. :specool:

Hope you enjoy and I will try to get the King Cheetah and African Wild Dog in tomorrow! (Also: the info I got on the animals came from Wikipedia; and sorry if I went a little over the pixle limit, I'll make sure to make them smaller next time)
~MoFish

Yep, pixel limit is 450x450. Changed your pics to links. Mika

Thanks badisbadis101 and CoolKid for the compliments!
Alright! Here is the African Wild Dog and King Cheetah.

http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m99/MoFish_11525/KC1.jpg
http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m99/MoFish_11525/KC2.jpg
King Cheetah. This exhibit is meant to take place at the foresty foothills of a mountain in southeastern Africa. There is a spring on a cliff that flows down by the cheetah's den and a stuffed prey dummy on the other side of the "bend". These cheetahs were bought from a neighboring zoo.

http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m99/MoFish_11525/AWD1.jpg
http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m99/MoFish_11525/AWD2.jpg
African Wild Dog. These two AWDs have a story behind them: Normally AWDs are found in large pack (up to 10 or so) and rarely are they found in pairs like these two. These two AWD split from the pack in hopes of starting their own pack, but these rarely make it. They were found in an area that looks a lot like their exhibit now: both were found starving and the male with an injured leg. My zoo team captured these two and they were taken back to the zoo where we hope to breed them to where they have a decent sized pack and then release them back to the wild.

Now you may suggest 2 more animals and their pictures will be posted tomorrow and Friday. Please do not suggest animals over the weekend. Thanks!

Wow, you build very beautiful exhibits, MoFish! Great job! I wish I had the time and patience to build such exhibits like yours. :original:

As for requests, could you maybe fo a lion exhibit? With one male and a couple of females? Like 2 or 3 is good, thats what I usually do.

Here are the grey wolves!

This exhibit is flat in the front and very hilly in the back. The dens are clustered together on the other side of the pond and an attention drawer for this exhibit is the Giant Secoya Tree on the middle-right side of the exhibit.
Here are the links to the pictures of the wolves:
http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m99/MoFish_11525/greywolves2.jpg
This is a picture of Skull Cracker (left) the alpha male and Bone Stealer (right). You can just guess how they got their names.
http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m99/MoFish_11525/greywolves3.jpg
This is Growler. He is the meanest of the pack and is not very social but, suprisingly, he is not the omega wolf.
http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m99/MoFish_11525/greywolves5.jpg
This is Blind Eyes, named for the unusually light colored eyes. He is the omega wolf.
http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m99/MoFish_11525/greywolves4.jpg
Finally, this is Ice, the Alpha Female(and only female of the pack).

This pack is quite unusual because it only has one female in it. A possible explination is that the four males formed a 'batchelor' pack and Ice, as a lone wolf, joined the pack.
"Tune in" tomorrow for the small pride of lions!
