Title: Relief Tanks?

I have MM since last friday and I have a serious problem when I have to make a tank. It's not a problem making a plain tank, with no relief. I have even learned how to use tank walls to make land exhibits!

But I have a serious problem when I try to make a tank with underwater mountains, as seen in the second scenario of the campaign animal shows. It's with the biome tool? But you can't make it deep with that tool, can you??

I'm worry about that! Happy with any help!

Post by: ShenTirag on November 15, 2006, 10:16:26 AM: You cannot edit the land in the bottom of the tank if it is surrounded completely with tank walls. If you make it tank on three walls, and the fourth wall a normal fence, you can paint deep water inside the entire enclosure and edit the terrain in the bottomof the "tank".

Post by: mikaboshi on November 15, 2006, 10:19:12 AM: Shen is correct. You can edit the bottom of a pool but not of a tank. That is, if you use the biome water tool to make a natural water exhibit, then you can edit the bottom of the exhibit, but once you use the tank walls for an exhibit, you loose that ability.

you can make tanks deeper, but only as a whole.

Post by: Alpha Dilophosaur on November 29, 2006, 09:11:30 PM: Yeah, I hope someone makes a hack or BF does something about that... It looks SO unnatural having a totally flat tank for an animal that lives in a usually mountain...y environment, like reef or benthic (that's the deep one, right...)

Shamu is a super-famous killer whale (or orca) that is now the icon of SeaWorld. The REAL Shamu sadly died many years ago, but if you are reffuring to an orca at SeaWorld you would generelly call him or her "Shamu:

actually i think they should have made it edit-able with hills and underwater streams
becuse the hills can be made to look like rocks (which in the ocean there are alot of)
in the ocean there are rarely any hills that stay they will always level out sometime or another. if you need an example just look at a fish tank (with some farely big fish)
and mess it up really bad be making a giant hill. in time as the water current from the fish swiming and the filter...filtering?:P the big hill will come down to cover the whole tank.

i think bf did great on the zt series but i think lately the last few games they put out
have the signs of being rushed i think they could have just as easly put the hills and stuff in the tanks and they could have made the bottems of the tanks edit-able instead of just adding a whole tanks worth of grass in one click. but thats just my option.
maybe there planing to realess a new zt3 or something that has the bug fixes and everything that was left out from zt1-2 who knows.

Post by: seaworldgurl1 on December 19, 2006, 07:24:41 PM: u cannot change the releif in tanks but only in pools of water. but if you want it to appear u have releif on your tanks, make a hybird exhibit( use tutorial on how to do it and do the first one it shows you) then u can change the relief in the "tank" with the landscaping tools. hope that helps! ;0)

Post by: Packraptor on December 29, 2006, 06:38:20 PM: You could always just elevate the land inside the tank, then paint deep water with the biome brush, and change elevation in that. That way, you don't have to lower the path at all.
