i am new to zoo admin...but i have a ?....in mm2 the ambient fish and jellyfish swim around on the ground after i have gotten rid of the water...is this normal?:hmmm:
-
Probably just a glitch or it takes a while to process that the water is gone  .
-
ok...thanks :)
-
Has anybody noticed that the remora attaches itself to the animals?
-
Has anybody noticed that the remora attaches itself to the animals?
I s'pose that helps with, A) Keeping the animals healthy and B) Keeping the game realistic.:specool:
-
Wow,I never noticed that except one time a guest said: "Look, the remora is cleaning Manta 1!" or something like that. I thought it was just a random comment. :tv_happy:
-
yeah my guests have said the same thing and i had no idea wut they were talkin about :)
-
I noticed the remora on my sea turtle, I thought is was the coolest think. Also, in the dark ocean biome (can't remember the name, the whale shark's) there are little tiny organisms floating around. At least, I think thats what they are.
-
yeah, i have noticed in the reef biome that there are small organisms floating around in the water. they are white and sort of transparent
-
Those small organisms probably mean that the water is not as clean as it could be.
-
i always thought they were like little jellyfish...ya know...like in the ocean??
-
or you might have the plankton feeder around. the plankton feeder has lil plankton floating around it.
-
no..i wasn't using the plankton feeder...it was a bottlenose dolphin exhibit (they like the reef bimoe too!) i think that the "organisms" are just ambient animals
-
Well, I notice those little organisms when the water is dirty. There are no files for ambient amoebas.
-
They're always there in my game - I think they're just there in the water, like the bubbles? I thought they were little organisms like there are in nature.
-
If you don't have a filter installed when you see these organisms, go to the surface and clean the water manually. When you drop back underwater, you can watch the things fade away until the water is clear again.
-
ok...ive done that...doesn't work...i don't know...i'll just think they're "organisms" (i like the idea of organisms) and I clean my water in EVERY exhibit when i go down into guest mode....idk...probably a glitch or sumthin :)
-
how do the MM ambients actually work
do they just appear when u put in the biome for an exibit or something... i only have the demo and i noticed that if you drain an exibit the ambients dissapear but when i refilled it they didnt reappear
also they dont disapear normally like the land ambients which is way cool
i cant really help with the "organisms" questions but i think it may be bacteria or other small life they come out when the tank is dirty
like when in a dirty fishtank there are little creatures scurrying around the bottom under the gravel
or they are bubbles, shrimp, or some other tiny ambient, or are an odd glitch
i dont exactly know how filters and cleaning tanks work anyways so thats all i can offer
-
Yes, the ambients will appear when the appropriate biome is added. As for the water ambients - it can be some time before they appear, even longer than for the land versions.
-
oh yeah...one thing...i was watching an "organism" float in the water....and it eventually faded away like regular ambients
-
ok.... i think i understand now how these new ambients work
so say i have a tundra tank with a few crabs.... but then i change it to coastal will then in a few minuetes remora and lionfish appear
also what do u mean for land.... iff u change the entire biome of a map you will get different ambients like going from a temperate forest map with squirrels and redoing the map so it is all desert will spring hare appear and squirrels dissappear??
-
no land ambients dont change, they appear on the biome of the map. water ambients appear in the biome of the water so that your tanks will be populated.
-
o thats cool..... so iff i wanted to change the ambients in a tank i could change it to another biome then change back right
also how come when i am decoratin a tank some of my ambients seem to dissapear
-
maybe because the ambients are programed to need a certain amount of space in a tank or body of water to work....when you start adding stuff it probably takes up some of that space! :) oh also, i have noticed that with all the exps, the land ambients change when you paint a different biome...example: i was on the large grassland map & i made a wetlands exhibit and the bullfrog appeared only where i painted wetlands
-
I think I got a squirrel on the coastal map, so I think you might be correct!
-
good to know im right...cuz for a minute i didn't know if i should say that...people might've thought i was crazy!!
-
i had bullfrog on a grassland map too, but i didnt have any wetlands animals.
-
no you don't need to have any wetlands animals for the bullfrog to appear! :)
-
this is weird its like some weird ZT2 conspiracey or something:blink:  :hmmm:
-
Just a question, but I see this really weird ambient fish (I think it's in either the coastal or reef biome.) popping up that comes in red and blue, and I have no idea what it is. :hmmm: It's not the lionfish either. Ring a bell to anyone?
-
i know wut ur talkin about..but i can't think of the name...i think there's a thread on ambient animals in MM2..hopefully that helps....:)
-
it could be a blenny or powder blue tang or a capelin
i also have possibly solved what the small organism is..... a baby moon jelly
remember squishy from finding nemo something like that....... also iff not i think i may have witnissed the organism in a tank i made in the demo
i witnessed the object moving across the horizon due east at around 8:30 and going at 350mph
i witnessed the smallish organism in the tank moving across the screen it was really just a white speck and it didnt move up or down or turn it just went perfectly straight i was going to try to photograph it but i lost sight of it when i switched to photo mode
-
no...its not a white speck..its looks like those jellyfish that are almost completely see-through...with like a four-point star design thing on the top...they don't have tenctacles either...idk :)
-
exactly baby moon jellies
or those comb jellies....... if they are in deep water it might be comb jellies they are along the coast too
or it is something like that weird starfish thing in the movie evolution
-
I've noticed that the crab ambients move away from you when you go in front of them. First, they shake sideways, then scuttle away from you.
-
still havent got the game.... ugg
i swear there were fish in a underwater hippo exibit screenshot i saw.... they werent any of the ones you could downlowad and the exibit was wetland
-
All of the biomes that have Marine Animals have fish that swim in them. The Herring is the only fish that will swim in Wetlands. For a complete listing of Ambients and the maps they show up in, refer to the List of all Ambients in ZT2 (http://zoo.ogresnet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6695) thread.
-
didnt see wetlands after herring
my bad
the floating speck might be poop, chunks or food/plant matter, or a micro organism after some final forever final thought on the topic on the "specks"
-
how do u get the jellyfish ambnets and crabs???
-
how do u get the jellyfish ambnets and crabs???
You have to have the Marine Mania 2 (MM2) expansion. They come with it and appear randomly in any of the MM2 waters.
-
Those small organisms probably mean that the water is not as clean as it could be.
or it could be that whale sharks live in the deep water biome and manta rays live in the reef biome and they both eat plankton - so again it might be more realistic or it could be from the plankton eaters food (cos they have little organisms floating out of thje bucket or floater thingy)
-
I believe the small organisims found in the water are just for decoration, I get them in coastal water no matter how clean it is :)
-
I never get those tiny organisms in my water. :bag:
-
i have possibly discovered the answer to the floating thingeys
they are plankton, zooplankton, alge, comb jellies, etc one looks like a cog wheel i have seen them with my own eyes looking through the eyes of a guy looking at them with his own 2 eyes
thats 4 eyes metaforically speeking
and i have pictures too
-
THere's definitely different types, I think they are just small organisms/plants etc. in the water because sea water is filled that kind of stuff.
Also, I noticed when testing an animal that a really dirty tank was FILLED with them.
-
thats what gives sea water the real kick
along with the salt....
then maby they are also fish/marine creature poo
