Making a Gopher Tortiose Input please
« on: June 24, 2006, 06:17:09 PM »
I am making a gopher tortiose so far all i have done is recolor the shell i did it all by hand i would use the laso tool to trace a scale. Then fill it in with brown then use about 50 filters i did each section by its self the only part i have redone is the brown on the shell and part of the brown on the underside  i still need to do the head and such please any tips on how to improve it or go about doing the head would be great.  The orginal shell was the galapagostortiose_f.dds i can't figure out how to get it on the tortiose in game once i get it to show up on the tortoise ingame. I will post a pic.

forgot the link lol

It does look quite good, especially for a 'beginner'! My only suggestion is that you 'texturize' the scales. By that I mean vary the colors slightly, and if you have one, use a texture tool to make it look 'rougher' in spots. Look at an actual tortoise, and you will see that their shell isn't smooth, but irregular. The coloring looks very good, for what you've done. :original:
