Help with variets
« on: August 24, 2006, 03:49:46 AM »
I need help urgently. I have made a few varients for ZT2 but I can't get them to show up. If anyone knows how to get them to work in game for me that would be great.

Thanks.

Did you use the VAT?
and did you make sure you have all the files zipped into one z2f file, name it and put it in the program directory? I have made one and it worked, I folowed the VAT instructions. Hope that helps, I'm not a real animal making person.

Well, did you name them correctly? Did you zip it into a .z2f correctly? The more information about what you have, the mroe we can help :)

Ok, one of the varients was a cheetah, so I named it cheetah_Adult_F_3 as there was 1 and 2 already, and the same with the sick and dirty and sick dirty files. I then added it to a compressed file using winzip and clicked ok after making it a .ztf file.

It should not be a .ztf file, it needs to be a .z2f file :)

Thanks. I'll try that one now.

***EDIT***
I tried that and put in 160 cheetahs and the varient didn't show up. Is there anything else I can do?

Something must be wrong with the folder names or file names.... When you zipped it up, what folder did you select?

If you mean what folder I zipped up, it was the entities folder.

Hmm... and you have them named entities and then units and then animals and then Cheetah and then in there are the skins?

They shouldnt be in a row together. The cheetah should be inside of the Animals folder which should be inside of the Units folder which should be inside of the entities folder

I didn't mean it that way, I meant that the cheetah is in the animals folder in the units in the entities folder in that order. Sorry if that was confusing.
