Download the VAT by Penguinman. It teaches you how to use a program called DXTBmp to open up dds files.

There is a tutorial called APE II which you can download here. it teaches you most of the basics, but you will have problems at first and when you do you can refer to this common problems thread. good luck! :original:

That's because BF didn't make variants until ES came out. Do you have any of the other expansion like AA or MM? If so, the variants will work.
