File probs by a certain type
« on: October 03, 2006, 02:24:00 PM »
I have noticed a certain file type that will not work no matter what animal or recolor it is. I think it has something to do with the ZTU files and a few others. After I download it it always says its either damaged or corrupted. Whats the deal here? A few examples are the christmas horse, the suicune, and the Eurasion Wyvern.

EDIT_ ACK! Scratch that, they're all messing up! I'v downloaded many a file here before so I know it isn't something on my side.

Do Sideshow Bob's animals also crash your game?
What country are you from?
This could be an LCID problem which will cause games to crash from non english speaking countries.
Does the Barfello, which was fixed, work?
Have you checked the file size against the file size in the downloads area?
I have noticed that it will take me more than one attempt to manage a complete download with this new system.
I keep mine in separate folders and load them in and out of the game which means I don't have to keep redownloading them.

I'm from the U.S so I speak english,no Sideshow Bob's files don't crash my game,I haven't downloaded the barfello, and it won't let me extract the files. It tells me the file is either in unkown format or corrupted and it doesn't matter even if I try to extract them in the file I keep them,it gives me the same message.

EDIT-All right,i'v maneged to get the valentines day horse to work, but the rest won't let me extract.

Do you have dial-up? If so, try deleting the original *.zip file and redownloading it or downloading it to a different place. But before you do, disable or close any software that speeds up browsing. I use Earthlink, and I get the corrupted file message all the time if I download with Earthlink accelerator enabled. I had the same problem with AOL and whatever software they had to "speed up" dial-up connections. If you're on DSL or cable, I can't help ya.

I use earthlink also,and i'm a dial-up,so i'l try that. Thankies!

EDIT-DRAT IT! I disabled the accelerater and it gives me the same message! I Dled the suicune again but it still gives me the file name and the message "file is either in unkown format or damaged."

Fix your LCID codes to 1033 and that solves the problem some have with them: :P :
Or give staff permission to update them for you.
