Big Problem With ZT2
« on: September 30, 2006, 11:44:12 AM »
i didn't know whether to put this in download support or ZT2 technical support, so if it needs to be moved that's fine.  i was playing zt2 earlier this morning and then decided to download RND's Space Requirements hack.  after i downloaded it and put the right files in the places she specified, i attempted running the game.  a window popped up saying:  ZOO TYCOON HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE WE ARE SORRY FOR THE INCONVINIENCE.  i tried running it 10 more times and still i got the message.  i deleted the space requirement files and tried running the game once more, but i got the same message.  anyone have any idea how to fix this problem?  i have zt2 and all the expansions.  i also attempted to uninstall african adventure and reinstall it but i had no luck.  please help!! i can't play zt2 until this is fixed!!!!!!:crying:

which space requirements hack did you use - the one where you have to merge the files into the original .z2f files or the new updated one where you have new .z2f fiiles to add to the game? either way you either take out the new x9xx_xxx.z2f file or replace the moded original game files with the backups that you made (You did make a back up didnt you).

no i didn't make a backup.  i downloaded the updated version for AA.  when i took the files out, i deleted the x910_000.z2f  and the x901_000.z2f and the folder that said space requirements hack.

i added nothing else to the game.  i put the space requirments hack into the game because i wanted smaller exhibits to make more room in my zoos.  i put the download into C://documents and settings/all users/application data/microsoft games/zoo tycoon 2.

it should go into the main game folder c:program files/microsoft games/zoo tycoon 2.  but if you have taken it out it should not affect the game at all.  Once it is taken out it no longer exists and would not affect the core memory of the game.
