hello is there a alternate way to install custom animals on zoo tycoon 1 instead of putting them in the upgrades folder?

If you mean the updates OR dlupdates folder then yes. It is easier to do because you can choose what to put in there, but you can also click "Get Zoo Tycoon Updates" on the main Zoo Tycoon screen. This however will install all of the updates present on your computer, in all the folders. So.. This is hard if you removed something for.. say .. a contest and forgot to put it back. All of a sudden it will be available.

This should clear this up.

oke because i have the game from a disc from somebody but it cant instal so i have to copy all the files onto my hard disc to play it and that why i don't have the upgrade folder but it should work if i put it in another folder right?

from what you have said you are not running a legal copy of the game and therfore we will nt help you with illegal copies. therefore this is now closed.
