Here is the main gate (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/zoogate.jpg). (This is a 4 1/2 star zoo! )
This is what the main walkway (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged.jpg) looks like.
This is my tribute to the zoo's conservation (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-1.jpg).
Here I am at the guest area entrance (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-2.jpg).

Here are some of the spiecies of fauna found in my zoo.
African elephant (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-5.jpg).(This is Koala Komander's reskin by the way! To get it and her other reskins, click on Zoomania on my signature! )

Hi everyone! I'm really sorry that I haven't posted in a while, but at least I have more pictures!

This is a better picture of the African elphant (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-19.jpg).
Another better picture, but of the Reticulated giraffe (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-20.jpg).
I'll have more pics later! Just hang on ,OK?

I really like the guest area, mine are always horrible!
I would like to see how your guest areas look, Seraphii. I promise I won't make some wise-crack up. Cross my heart, hope to die!
To ZA Staff, Is it okay for me to double post on this topic? Just asking!
-
the only way you can doulbe post is if each post contains pictures otherwise the same rules apply about double posting.
-
Those pictures are great!!
-
Thank you, Red Panda Twins!
To Moderators,
Just so this thread doesn't close, I'll post more pics tonight. Promise!

-
Hi, everyone! I'm back with more pics!
A male Triceratops (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-24.jpg), an extinct animal that once roamed North America 67 million years ago.
My stupid Photobucket is so SCREWED UP!!!!
No matter what picture I send in, it always comes out as a beaver or a beaver lodge, which is NOT what I took pictures of! INFURIATING!!!
I guess I'll try again tommorrow.*sigh*:pinch:
-
photobucket does that if its a recent picture whas named "enlarged",then you dletit then send another pic in as "enlarged".
make sure when uploading you name each picture differently. :D
nice zoos and pics u got there!
-
Thanks for the help, KK! I'll have more pics tonight!
-
I'm back everyone! I'm sorry this took a while but I've had other things to do lately. Here are more photos like I promised. And thanks for the tip, KK! Sice I happen to know so much about animals, I'll put in facts about the animals I take pictures of as well, which is new for me.
- We see here a female Triceratops (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-26.jpg), an animal to which I belive forms herds of mixed sexes. There are fewer males but they all pitch in to defend thier young like how muskoxen do.
- The meerkat (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-27.jpg) is a social species of mongoose that live in groups of 20 or more.
- Gemsbok (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-28.jpg) are antelope that have long, straitward pointing horns, unique to the oryx family.
- The gerenuk (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-29.jpg) is a gezelle that's also called the giraffe-gazelle". The gerenuk (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-30.jpg) is unique because it can reach leaves where only other gazelle can hope to reach. To help it browse, it also stands on it's hind legs to reach leaves higher than another similar-sized animal would.
- The white rhinoceros (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-31.jpg) is the most common species of rhinoceros thanks to conservation efforts. It's also the least aggresive of the five species of rhino.
I'll get more pics later!
Oh, and congradulations on winning the Zoo Tycoon Cluedo contest, Red Panda Twins!
-
I'm really sorry I haven't posted back in a while. Because of school starting like 2 weeks ago, it's been hard for me to post here and get mew pics. Anyway here are 4 more pics.
- The aardvark (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-32.jpg) is an insectivore from Africa. Although it has no teeth, it has a 2 ft. long tounge to catch ants and termites.
- Warthogs (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-33.jpg) don't really have warts. Those "warts" are just bumps of bone possibly used as self defense when fighting with other warthogs.
- Out of all 23 species of crocodilian, the Nile and saltwater crocodile (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-34.jpg) are the only two species that are classified as "man-killers".(This is the original skin before I got KK's reskin!)
- The male Emperor penguin (http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n168/zoomaniac/enlarged-35.jpg) is one of nature's most dedicated fathers. He won't eat for 120 days to warm a single egg laid by the female.
More pics later!
-
Great pics and interesting facts!!
-
Reopened by request. Welcome back to S&T, african_elephant_2006!
-
Thanks mika! I'll have the first pictures of my new zoo by tonight or later this afternoon!
-
Here are some pics for my new zoo.
- Let's enter (http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/8800/enlargedln1.jpg) the zoo for some super-duper fun!
- Here's a guest's-eye view of the peafolw exhibit (http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/6392/enlargedpw4.jpg).
- Here's a pic of one of the male peafowl (http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/1450/enlargedvc7.jpg). I'll get a pic of one showing it's tail feathers later.(The tail can be up to 8 feet wide when expanded!)
- Here's a good view of the California sea lion exhibit (http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/2185/enlargedru6.jpg).
- Now, a view of the exhibit on an elevated path (http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/756/enlargedhk2.jpg).
- Here's one of the sea lions (http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/6017/enlargedbo1.jpg) now. Did you know these animals are never no more than 10 miles away from the sea?
- Oh, looks like a show's (http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/5232/enlargedug9.jpg)starting!
- Better grab a seat in the sea lion show grandstand (http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/293/enlargedlg4.jpg).
More pics tommorow!
EDIT: I fixed the image links. Hope you guys enjoy!
-
I love your pictures and your animals! What a bummer! You guys are lucky. I don't AA or DD, but I do have MM and ES. I really want the conservation bredding center!:crying: Again, I love your zoo!:specool:
-
actually, i have seen tons of sea lions more than 10 miles away from teh sea.... in zoos! great zoo, african_elephant!
-
actually, i have seen tons of sea lions more than 10 miles away from teh sea.... in zoos! great zoo, african_elephant!
I meant that as in sea lions in the wild.
But thank you for your compliments, you guys!(No offense if any of you here are a girl!)
Now, I need some help. I'd like to know how to take pictures like this (http://zoo.ogresnet.com/forums/downloads/plain%20old%20grass%20map!_4C7.jpg) in ZT2. If anyone knows how to do this, please post it here or PM me on how to do it. Thanks!
(The picture's not my own, but it's just an example of what I'm talking about.)
-
Now, I need some help. I'd like to know how to take pictures like this (http://zoo.ogresnet.com/forums/downloads/plain%20old%20grass%20map!_4C7.jpg) in ZT2.
For that you need to get the "Zoo Zoom Camera Hack for MM" by Jarzzai. You can find it here:
http://zoo.ogresnet.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2993
-
Well, I have that, but that's not what I meant. I mean how do you take pictures in aireal mode like that?
-
Oh lol sorry. Okay so what you need to do is first find the Print Screen button on your keyboard. It should be to the right of the F12 key. Now simply zoom out to where you want to take the picture of and press the Print Screen button. Then you go into MS Paint and select paste from the edit list and there's your picture.
-
Great pics african_elephant_2006!!!
-
Thanks, sheltiefan! It worked! Thank you VERY much!
Now I can show you the discovery area (http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/1991/discoveryareatb0.jpg) of the zoo.
More animal pics later!
-
Here are more pics from yours truley.
- Now it's time to visit the guest area(pic 1 (http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/9273/enlargedky4.jpg), pic 2 (http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/7757/enlargedbj3.jpg), pic 3 (http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/3019/enlargedpp1.jpg).)
- Now, we'll skip ahead to the Galapagos tortoise (http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/1615/enlargedun8.jpg) area. The tortoise's shell is very strong, beintg able to support over 200 times it's body weight. That's like having two African elephants standing on your head!
- Here's the Komodo dragon (http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/5967/enlargedli9.jpg), the largest lizard in the world. These scaley giants can grow up to 10 feet long and has an average weight of 155lbs.
- The Asian elephant (http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/2439/enlargedfq1.jpg)'s molar teeth are very much like the wooly mammoth's, suggesting that thety are closely related. Contrary to popular belief, females (http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/6748/enlargedyb4.jpg) have tusks, but they're called "tushes" and they don't get any longer than an inch long.
- The phrase, an elephant (http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/2958/enlargedck7.jpg) never forgets is very close to the truth. Records show that a mother and daughter elephant that were reunited immediatly reconized each other even though they haven't seen each other in over 23 years!
- The giraffe (http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/1072/enlargedkt1.jpg) is crowned as the tallest land animal, at up to 19 ft. high at head height. Amazingly, giraffes (http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/8276/enlargedjq6.jpg) have only 7 neck vertebrae, just like all mammals, but the difference is that thier's can be up to 7 inches long, with a combined length of up to 6 ft.!
- And finally for today, a view of the koi pond (http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/572/enlargedef8.jpg).
There'll be more tommorow!
EDIT: There are new pictures of the Asian elephants!
-
That is a great shot of your koi pond! (I've always wanted one of those in real life hehe) I love your guest area too! Really well-done. :)
-
I don't want to change the topic, but how do you post pictures on Zoo Admin?
-
Here's the rules (http://zoo.ogresnet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1576) on image posting. I really hope this helps!
-
Sorry it took a while, but I have more pics for you guys!
- Here we are at the Reptile House (http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/8646/enlargeddv0.jpg).
- The Nile monitor (http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/8576/enlargedrv1.jpg) lays it's eggs in termite mounds when the rainy season and the hatchlings have to dig thier way out when the rain softens the earth.
- The African spurred (http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/8140/enlargedyt9.jpg), or sulcata tortoise is the third largest tortoise in the world. since it lives in the desert, it's water supply comes from it's food, so it never drinks.
- Believe it or not, but a 1/2 ton crocodile (http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/7615/enlargedwo9.jpg) sitting in the sun all day long uses the same amount of energy as a sparrow!
- The rare and elusive giant panda (http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/1160/enlargednr8.jpg) has stronger jaws than a polar bear because of it's tough bamboo diet.
- The red panda (http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/5480/enlargedsp5.jpg), or fire cat, may have the word "panda" in it's name, but it's actually more closely related to the racconn family than its much larger counterpart.
- Here are some pics of our latest bundles of joy, 3 brand new baby elephants!!(Terrance (http://img397.imageshack.us/img397/5429/enlargedjc6.jpg), Mac (http://img397.imageshack.us/img397/3356/enlargedlp6.jpg), & little Matilda (http://img397.imageshack.us/img397/7629/enlargedjk2.jpg)!)
- Looks like another show (http://img397.imageshack.us/img397/1190/enlargedbe2.jpg) is starting!
I'll have more pics later this weekend or next week!
-
nice reptile house! i also like the discovery area!
-
Thanks for the complements, everyone! I'll have more pics soon!
-
Sorry for the long wait, but here are some more pics as promised.
- The Scimitar horned oryx (http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/9413/enlargeduo3.jpg) is so rare that you cannot find it outside of a zoo in the wild.
- Gemsbok (http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/1192/enlargedjy6.jpg) are antelope that really love the shade of a tree. Herds can stay under a tree for 4-5 hours a day.
- A zebra (http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/1281/enlargedpd0.jpg)'s stripes are like your fingerprint- no two have the exact same pattern! (Also in the pic are some Thompon's gazelle and some giant sable antelope.)
- The ostrich (http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/3228/enlargedqm8.jpg) is the fastest thing on two legs. It can run at 50 miles per hour and can keep this up as far as 20 miles!
- The addax (http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/6261/enlargedhu6.jpg) has herds of only 2-4 members because of its rarity.
- Dromedary camels (http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/4341/enlargeddc1.jpg) actually store fat in thier humps, not water. They can actually survive for two weeks because of the fat stored in the hump.
Overall, here's what the zoo (http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/862/zoomapmr0.jpg) looks like. To help me get more pics for this topic, I'd like some requests as to what kinds of critter's you'd like to see in my zoo. I'd preffer official animals over user-made animals. So if you have a request, post it here! I'll read it so I can get your ideas.
And thanks to everyone who comes to visit this topic. I really appreciate it.
-
That overview looks really nice Africa_elephant! May you comment me back?
Great job again! :specool:
-
Hi, everyone! I'm back with more pics. Some updateds include a new sky-tram tour and a larger sea lion exhibit, featuring 2 new animals. I'll edit this post and add facts later.
Pic 1 (http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/8324/enlargedsx1.jpg)
Pic 2 (http://img477.imageshack.us/img477/2711/enlargeded0.jpg)
Pic 3 (http://img477.imageshack.us/img477/1843/enlargedkb4.jpg)
Pic 4 (http://img477.imageshack.us/img477/9527/enlargedla8.jpg)
Any idea what that zookeeper is holding? I caught this and tought that I should show you.
More pics later!
-
Thanks for the comment on my thread!
The pics look really nice, I think the zookeeper is holding something that they use to clean the tanks with, i'm not 100% sure though.
-
yeah, thats what it is-mine did that once
-
Really? That's what that is? Thanks for the extra info, guys!
-
Nice pictures! I especially like the first one with the two Sea lions
-
Are you still taking requests? If so,then how about adding polar bears?Great zoo by the way!
-
cool zoo
-
Are you still taking requests? If so,then how about adding polar bears?Great zoo by the way!
Yes, I am and yes, you're the first person who has requested something! Thanks! I'll have the pics later this weekend.
-
Here are the pics as promised.
- A polar bear's (http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/3531/enlarged5zj.jpg) sense of smell is so good that it can detect a seal under 10 feet of solid ice!
- It's real easy to see why this animal is called a specticaled bear (http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/524/enlarged8uv.jpg). Just look around it's eyes!
And finally, an updated map of the zoo (http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/4879/zoomap7aa.jpg). Again, if you have a request for me, jus' let me know, Okie-dokie?
-
Nice pics! I think the polar bear can sense a seal!: :P : Can you do a fennec fox, please?:innocent:
-
(*imitates Curly Howard*)Coitenlly! Nuk-nuk-nuk!
I'll start again tommorrow, because it's after midnight where I live and I'd like to get some shut-eye. Good night. And thank you everyone for your complements and requests.
-
there is the aardvark he is so cute
-
I have new pics! YAY!
I'v elooked at your requests, and instead of making an outdoor exhibit, I just made a small mammals house! Enjoy!
Outside the Small Mammals House is a colony of six meerkats (http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/5933/enlarged8ay.jpg), a social species of mongoose that can neat venomous scorpions without getting themselves killed. Cool!
Here's what the House looks like from the outside (http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/4346/enlarged2wq.jpg).
Here are are the featured animals in the House.
- The American beaver (http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/7613/enlarged4ns.jpg) actually spends more time inside resting in the dams they construct instead of building improvements on them. Makes sense since there's lots of things that would love to snack on a beaver!
- The fennic fox (http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/9179/enlarged4tl.jpg) is the smallest fox species, but has the biggest ear-to-body ratio of any canine!
- "Aardvark (http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/5183/enlarged0vj.jpg)" comes from two Afrikaan words that mean, "earth pig".
- The ratel (http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/2857/enlarged1nn.jpg), or honey badger, is very aggresive. It has to be, just to stay alive in the harsh African grasslands!
- The wolverine (http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/1774/enlarged2xx.jpg) has also been called the "skunk bear" because people say it's as strong as a bear, yet it smells like a skunk. It's not suprising since it's in the skunk family! (So is the ratel!)
- And finally, the cutest animal here at the Zoo, without a doubt, the koala (http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/2194/enlarged4gv.jpg). If you've seen The Most Extreme before, you'll know about the koala's eating habits when it's a baby. If not, well, that's for you to find out!
Here's what the Zoo (http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/8786/zoomap3oy.jpg) looks like now that I've added the Small Mammals House.
I'll have more later, once I see any new requests. Until then, have a nice day!
-
I like the Zoo so far african_elephant! The mammal house looks good
-
YYYYYYAAAAAHHHH!!!!! A FENNEC FOXY!!!!:woot: If you read my signature, it says that I like foxes and other animals. How did you make a small mammel house (just PM me for that question. I don't want to change the subject:happy: )? Your zoo looks GREAT!!!!!: :) :
-
I like your mammel house better than mine. It's ugly! I might post a pic of it in my zoo. Just click on the link in my signature.
-
Awesome mammal house!
-
Wow, you have really cool zoos, african_elephant_2006!! I like your mammal house. :original: And great pictures, by the way!
-
Thanks, germanwolf! Again, if any of you have a request for me, please post here or just PM me. I really don't want this thread closed so please request something if you want to! Thanks.
-
a elephant enclosure with a barn(asian elephants) (and a barn thats make out of elevated paths and tank walls not a elephant barn)
that is just a challenging exhbit that i think you could make well, you dont have to:original: :original:
-
Nice zoo! It's better than mine!
PS:Look at my zoo. I have some new stuff! There's a link to it in my signature.
-
Thanks for the requests!
@badisbadis101: I tried that, but it it's hard to do right now. There's a sky-tram tour above the Asian elephant exhibit, so I'll have to scratch that one. Sorry!
I'd be willing to do a primate house, though! How does that sound?
@catfan: I visited your topic! I think your reptile and small mammals house looks dandy! You're doing a good job!
-
Your zoo is totally awesome. I like the animal house.
-
That is soo cool!
-
Hey everyone! I'm back again with new pics and updates!
For starters, I moved the meerkats to a new exhibit and replaced thier old exhibit with a pair of secretary birds. Don't woory, the meerkats are still here! It's just that they are somewhere else in the zoo. Anyway, here's what the zoo (http://img64.imageshack.us/my.php?image=zoomapan3.jpg) looks like as of now.
Here are some of the new animals:
- The secretary bird (http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/8793/enlargedjt3.jpg) is infamous for being a predatory bird in Africa. It usually feasts on venomous snakes and lizards.
- Meerkats (http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/9127/enlargedoq7.jpg) usually have one member of the group to act as a scout so that they can watch out for predators.
- The "warts" on a wartog (http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/6248/enlargeddt9.jpg)'s face aren't really warts. They're just bumps on thier face.
- There's a good reason why the gerenuk (http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/6721/enlargedxz7.jpg) is also called a "giraffe-gazelle". Both have long necks, eat leaves from trees and have a long tounge so they can eat food easily.
- The white rhinoceros (http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/5832/enlargedmv3.jpg) is now the most common rhino species, with numbers at thier 10,000's now.
That's all for now! I'll probablly start the primate house either tonight or tommorrow! Again, please post requests here, if you have any!

MAJOR UPDATES!!!!
I decided to do what I traditionally do first: I built a new Safari Area and made a huge exhibit with nothing but African savanah animals. I had to move all of the savanah hooved mammals, the elephants, the ostriches and others so that it would work.
So now, here is what J.L.S Zoological Gardens (http://img371.imageshack.us/my.php?image=zoomapuj8.jpg) looks like as of now.
I'll have more pics later!

Wow! That zoo looks totally fantastic African_Elephant!
I like the African Savannah habitat the best so far.

Thanks, Jaguar!
Now's your chance to see what it looks like in a guests-eye and bird's-eye view!
Follow the yellow-brick road (http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/3729/enlargedgk8.jpg).
What luck! A JEEP tour station (http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/3852/enlargedxv1.jpg)!
And here's the mini-guest area (http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/1426/enlargednz6.jpg).
Here's a good view of the Safari Area (http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/1958/safariarealh7.jpg).
And another (http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/7310/safariarea2hn9.jpg)!
Again, post requests here if any! I have lots of room left and I'm running out of ideas!

Bad news everyone. Due to many recent errors with my game such as freezing, I am no longer able to provide m ore pictures of the zoo that I have provided for you. I'm afaid I'll have to start this all over again, and I'd like one of the mods to close this topic until further notice. When this topic reopens, I'll have pics of a brand new zoo that may or may not be better than the one I had before on this topic. Thanks for visiting my show-and-tell thread and I hope that you will continue to visit me in the future once this topic is re-opened.
