Slow Saves

I've noticed that the game can take over a half hour to save. I'm running an Athlon XP 1600 processor with a 32 MB ATI ALL-IN-WONDER video card...768 MB DDR. It's getting frustrating, and I've tried disabling and re-enabling the AGP texture acceleration, lowered the audio and video hardware acceleration, adjusted the keyboard repeat rate, changed the mouse action speed to a lower setting, and I haven't seen any posts for resolving this particular issue. I'm not afraid to try anything, and I realize that the bigger the zoo, the more complex it gets...but over a half hour to save???? Any help will be appreciated.

Try setting the setting in Game Options to low.
