A Guide To Make Good Food-courts
« on: January 27, 2005, 06:11:32 AM »
A food court should be a place for guests to eat, drink and relax so it does need to be a nice place not just one stand and a picnic table so i am here to help you get the most out of food-courts.
Layout
Layout is very important if not thought about you could end up with guests getting stuck or not being able to find a seat. Make sure there are paths for guests to follow other wise they’ll just walk off leave room for tables, bins and of course the food stands. Bins also help as trash makes guests unhappy.
Food
Once your layout is done you can decide on what food you should have I mainly have a burger stand and soda stand aswell as a desert cart. So guests need a food, drink and possibly a desert stand to keep them satisfied you could have more stands to allow different choice but if on a budget by cheaply.
Where to eat
If there are no picnic benches guests will stand and eat making them tired and angry so place picnic benches or tables with umbrellas never make them stand as it will make your fame go down.
Extras
If you have enough money or your guests are complaining about things then place benches, toilets, ATM’s, gift carts and photo booths to make them happy or if you don’t have enough money to buy all the food stands and picnic benches buy a restaurant where guests can eat, drink and sit down in peace.

That's a very good guide. I might try doing food courts now instead of opting for easy option restaurants :)

Keep in mind that if you put a restaurant anywhere near food stands, the income for the stands will plummet. So your best bet is space out your guest services area -- have a food court, say, in the front of your zoo, and a restaurant at the back, and a different kind of restaurant at the side. Your guests will stay happy and all buildings will continue to make money.

That is a very very goodlooking food court Samemo.

I've found the more you put surrounding a food court or really any area in your area will make it more popular.

Deciding where to put your food courts may be the most difficult part of designing your zoos. You don't want them in your most populated areas or they will contribute to more congestation. However if you put them too far away from traffic then they may not make a profit for you.

I would've posted a screenshot however this topic isn't permitting them right now for some reason. :(

Sometimes food courts can be used with elevation. Now that I've finally discovered what "smooth terrian" means, I can use elevation to the extreme. If you have a mountainous zoo, I find that a good food court by a high cliff looks very nice. I espacially like to use boreal forest trees near it to give it the mountainous feel.

Is it ture that putting themed stuff in a food court with that animal type beside it does wonders for your sales?
