What are your favorite mixed exhibits?  I try to mix exhibits whenever I can.  My favorite is Bongo/Okapi.  I know of several others that work well.

I usualy give the rino a seperate exibit, and the same thing with giraff(SC) and elephant if I have room...(I only have ZT2, I'm waiting for the big gold pack when they are done:()

I'm not sure I really have a favourite, but among them...

Normal Mixed Exhibits include:

-Common Zebra/Thompson's Gazelle/Ostrich/Black Rhinoceros/Reticulated Giraffe/African Elephant.
-Lion/Cheetah.
-Gemsbok/Red Kangaroo/Asian Elephant.
-Giant Panda/Red Panda/Common Peafowl.
-Bengal Tiger/Black Leopard/Jaguar.
-Mountain Gorilla/Ring Tailed Lemur/Chimpanzee/Okapi.
-Emperor Penguin/Musk Ox
-Hippopotamus/Greater Flamingo/American Beaver.

Adding ES resulted in these:

-Ibex/Markhor.
-Grey Wolf/Wolverine.
-Dromedary Camel/Scimitar Horned Oryx/Fennec Fox.
-American Bison/Przewalski's Wild Horse.
-Common Zebra/Thompson's Gazelle/Ostrich/Black Rhinoceros/Reticulated Giraffe/African Elephant/Giant Sable Antelope.
-Lion/Cheetah/African Wild Dog.
-Gemsbok/Red Kangaroo/Asian Elephant/Galapagos Giant Tortoise.
-Giant Panda/Red Panda/Common Peafowl/Koala/Spectacled Bear.
-Mountain Gorilla/Ring Tailed Lemur/Chimpanzee/Okapi/Baird's Tapir/Crested Gibbon/Javan Rhinoceros/Orangutan.
-Emperor Penguin/Musk Ox/Caribou.
-Nile Crocodile/Florida Panther.

And adding AA will result in these:

-Ibex/Markhor/Gelada.
-Ethiopian Wolf/Snow Leopard.
-Dromedary Camel/Scimitar Horned Oryx/Fennec Fox/African Spurred Tortoise.
-Common Zebra/Thompson's Gazelle/Ostrich/Black Rhinoceros/Reticulated Giraffe/African Elephant/Giant Sable Antelope/Masai Giraffe/Wildebeest/Warthog.
-Red Kangaroo/Gemsbok/Asian Elephant/Galapagos Giant Tortoise/Aardvark/Gerenuk/Meerkat/White Rhinoceros.
-Caracal/Komodo Dragon (possibly).
-Mountain Gorilla/Ring Tailed Lemur/Chimpanzee/Okapi/Baird's Tapir/Crested Gibbon/Javan Rhinoceros/Orangutan/Mandrill/Bongo/Pygmy Hippopotamus.
-Hippopotamus/Greater Flamingo/African Buffalo.

And that's just the one biome exhibits.

My favorite mixed exhibit is the desert animals, except the hyenas. All the others come next. My favorite animal in ZT2 is the meerkat , so I don't mix anything with it. I give it an exhibit all to itself.

I like to do combined exhibits a lot, just never predators with prey. Ick.

Gemsbok/Kangaroo - I know that they don't come from the same continent, but they exist well together and eat the same stuff. I think it shows a nice variation on the biome from different parts of the world. And...it saves on space! :blushing:

Musk Ox/Carabou - They do really well together, but they will tend to overbreed their space. You gotta keep an eye on them and a dedicated zoo keeper is just about a must.

Any combination of Savannah herbivores. Generally Gazelle, Giraffe, Giant Sable, and now Wildebeest and warthogs. I'm lovin the warthogs.

I used to do Hippo, gator, flamingo, but I found I lost a lot of flamingo to the gators. Don't do that anymore. The gators are on their own now, but I am enjoying the African Buffalo. You can put those in with any combination and they do fine.

Bison/Wild Horse - Another continental blend, but they look nice together, coxist peacefully, and eat the same things. I don't like clutters of food dishes. Yes. I fire a lot of zookeepers. I like to do them as a central exhibit since we did only really have those 2 for grassland. They made a nice centralized break between biomes or regions.

Camel/Oryx/Fennec - Cluttered food, but a nice combination. They live nicely together, but it's gotta be BIG. They make a nice side note to a large Savannah exhibit, maybe centralized to different Savannah exhibits.

I typically leave the Giant Panda to their own exhibit, but I will do Red Panda in there sometimes. I never combine those two with Peacock. The peacock are just too messy, but I will do Peacock and Red Panda together.

Lemurs will go in just about any non-carnivore rainforest exhibit, but I love them so much they usually get their own space, same with koala.

Gorilla/Chimpanzee - The little and the big!

Crested Gibbon/Orangutan - They're just cute together.

I almost always combine Penguins and Caribou in the tundra ones...

For Boreal, I sometimes make a big exhibit with wolves and a BUNCH of moose

For Savannah, I love to mix the Zebras, the Giant Sable Antelope, the Wildebeasts, giraffes...anything that will fit

Wetlands, I've been combining African Buffalo and Nile Monitors lately with no problems

Rainforest: Okapi and Bongo! Two of the most beautiful animals in the game!

Oryx and Camels, if I have the space, for a desert exhibit...

I don't do alpine a whole lot, but when I do, I usually have a lot of user-created ibexes in there (the recolors are SO pretty)

Scrub: gemsbok and kudu

A combined Baird's Tapir and Pygmy Hippo exhibit is my current favourite, and they work nicely opposite a Bongo/Okapi exhibit :)

Asian Elephant/White Rhino and African Elephant/Black Rhino are other favourites of mine, I like to put animals of similar sizes together so that they can be seen well together.

I just finished my simplest zoo to date.
I call it 'african adventure' but i do not have ES or AA

The zoo has 42 animals in two exhibits. It is set in a small zoo, taking up just 3/4 of the map.
In the right-side exhibit I have 12 Cheetahs and 10 Lions.
Then, in the left-side exhibit I have:
2 African Elephants
2 Reticulated Giraffes
4 Zebras
4 Thomsons Gazelles
2 Ostriches
2 Black Rhinos
2 Mhorr Gazelles and 2 Dama Gazelles

All inhabitants get along without scuffles or getting in each other's way, and all are breeding...

This zoo sustains a 4-star rating.

HERE is the map.
