Make the Perfect Symetrical Zoo
« on: July 06, 2006, 08:06:12 AM »
First off I suggest choosing a small zoo, it will be easier to master small and move up.

Make a large X through the zoo

Be aware i am playing the game while making this so just wait a couple minutes between updates.

Whenever I try to make symetrical zoos I use a grid layout.  Also when you say symetrical do you mean same animals on both sides, or do you mean just the layout and such?

Make Two lines like so. Also this will not be entirely centered.......this is just how the game maps are made. But your zoo will look good at the end

fill in the small open area and time to start decorating

layout.

Double your pathways and finish decorating around the resturants

Double the path on the larger exhibit side

Finish decorating the center and cut off the edges of the four side exhibits...you can already see the differance between the two big exhibits...

your zoo may and probably will come out better than mine

this depends apon you also.

Suggestions:
biome based zoo
animals from certain continates
carivores
big cats
bovids ((hoffed animals-wildebeest-gernuk-giant sable antelope,ect))
Check your zoo book for family, region, ect
((Also you could make a large biome zoo and connect the exhibits with elevated paths.))

That looks really cool, actually! I hadn't thought of that. I tend to do grids as well when I'm trying to be symmetrical. Sometimes I do a large Savannah in the middle and try to do rays off of that, but I never do a good job. I don't judge the animals space requirements well so things end up kind of a mess. I'm going to try this, though. I really like it and I can imagine walking through it for real.

Thanks!!

Thanks and you are welcome. I had this perfected before this one is sorta downhill, but still shows the main purpose.

On to the two big exhibits now.

elephant and wildebeest.

hippo, buffalo, and four flamingos
