Ideas For Zoo Layout?
« on: July 07, 2005, 09:41:10 PM »
Hey!

After reading the forums for a little bit and seeing some of the zoo's shown in the "Show and Tell" threads I'm realizing even more how bland my zoo's are. They're not a bad layout (at least I don't think so) just boring.

Does anyone have any ideas, tips, suggestions on how to make more interesting layouts/maps?

Thanks.

Try filling in all your empty spaces with foliage. it always makes my zoos look good.

Like Black Panther said, it's a good idea to fill it with foilage or scenery.  There is another zoo layout thread here, or you could check out the articles section for more ideas.

I'm sure your zoos aren't bland at all, Honor. Why not start a show and tell, and we can all see your pics! You'll be amazed how generous people are with their compliments. And you will find you technique improves in time. I know mine has!  :D

When building your ZT2 zoo, you can always go into guest mode and look at it from that point of view! If it looks like it needs a tree or plant, even a fountain or bench, then put one.
I some times place something, look at it, then end up removing it and adding something else.
You will get the hang of it. I am sure of it!

Rosina- you know, I thought of it...but I was too....not afraid, but I guess anxious that I would get a "why would you show THAT off??" response.

Also, to be honest...I can't figure out which show and tell thread is most recent.  :blush

It is a good idea...I just may do that though. Thanks!

Thanks to everyone else who responded as well. It all helps.  :)

Hi Honor! I'm sure your zoos aren't bland, just like Rosina said. I would love to see your pics! Just go here for the ZT2 Show and Tell and start your own topic. There are various pinned posts explaining how to post pictures...so if you're unsure, read through those first. Also, if you would like to show off some ZT1 zoos, go here! I can't wait to see what you have to show us!  :happy

If you think you'll get an unfavourable response, just look at  this, and you will see how kind people are about my very average efforts at the beginning. :blush

still trying to find those pinned posts...but...another question...what about uploading the entire zoo in general? I know it can be done, but is it encouraged? that is, could i make a post in the "Show and tell" thread and say my zoo is in the downloads section? because the zoo is so busy, my computer can't handle it very well, so taking "photos" in photo mode, or even screen shots is hard to do...plus, I want feed back on the overall layout.

What do you think?

Viele Danke,
*grin*

I'm sure, like everyone else, that your zoos arent that bad.  If the guests are relatively happy, its a great zoo, and if they are not happy, it still might be great. ;)

To show people the general layout you could just show a pic of the map, but I suppose that wouldn't show if it was bland or not because the map doesnt show any sort of scenery item or plant.  You can put your zoo up for download, I'm sure there are some people that would love to take a look at it.
