they have a chain of them at chester zoo with lemur species on them, i love the boat tour, once one came right up!!
sorry for bing of topic its just cool to find someone who lives close to me!! :happy [/b]

They have a boat tour at chester zoo? Man I must have missed that last time! (I took my son there around christmas) It would have been great to have a closer view of the lemurs. I wonder if African Adventure will have added a boat tour option?

I've tried to have monkey islands but they always try and drown themselves, is there an invisible fence for ZT2? That would be handy to stop them!

I followed your insturctions, and I found a monkey island makes a great castle. You use invisable fences around the island and put crocodiles in the moat, and last you use the terrain tool to make it look like a castle!

I remember lemur island on animal planet, so I made one. it was unsuccesful, for lemurs would go in the water and get stuck.:pinch: :pinch: :pinch:

That is the only annoying bit. Just put an invisible fence round like Gibbon Fanatic said. Good idea GF!

Also with the new AA xp out with more monkeys it gives monkey island builders more oppertunites including possibly a whole monkey park.

You know, they should make it so animals that cant swim dont try to swim. That way, you could make a monkey island with no fences around it!

Here's how I do it:

1.) Make a really big exhibit.
2.) Inside the exhibit, build more fences but make them all round-shaped.
3.) Outside the smaller fences, make a ditch and fill it with water.
4.) In areas where there's water, put elevated paths on water so guests can see them up close.
5.) Once exhibit is set up, delete the inside-fencing to make it look more natural. (Invisible fences make this work.)
6.) Hope your animals don't drown and enjoy!

Hey, I do the islands alot and here are the animals it is succesful for: Kangaroos, lemurs, mandrills, gorillas, orangs, gibbons, and any other monkeys if you mind to keep on flicking them back, it is a pain but the guests love it! P.S. Never do this with a fennec, never!

You shouldn't try islands with animals that can drown ,but further ,it works with most animals. I've tried it with crocs and hippos and it's fine.
It does not work with tigers ,that goes wrong.
It works with elephants and rhinos very well.
My hint is that you use deepest water closest to the fence ,and that you will put a fence around the water  (rnot between the land and the  water) ,so the animals can swim ,but not climb the land on the other side of the water.
Animals will escape trough water, a piece of land with water around at all sides doesn't work as an exhibit ,the game will still say animal usch isn't contained and all this mess.
I believe animal islands work for pretty much any animal ,if you manage them well.

WhenI do this I use a rope fence. It works! If the animals are happy (even with tigers) they don't try to escape!

there's a way to make a fence look invisible if you place it under deep water - the animals won't cross it even though it looks like they can swim over it
