Hello all.I am a photographer that has been all around the world watching several different species with animals. This trip to Africa was a bit different though. What I found was so beautiful, yet so surprising.
I was wondering through an endless sahvanna with no luck.Anything would have pleased me at this point, when up ahead I saw a thick grove of trees,"Thats unusual for a sahvanna." I thought to myself.I got a bit closer and noticed something laying in a bed of tall grass. It looked like a sillhouette of a lion.Desperate for a picture of any animal I grabbed my camera and snapped one where I stood.

This is my first "adventure" per say,so please tell me what you think so far.By the way, please excuse the spelling,i'm not so hot at that.
-
Please don't think of this as double posting, but I think it would get better as the story goes on.
I moved closer, being as quiet as I could seeing as I wasn't totally sure if that was a lion or not.I got closer to the grove and saw several shadowy figures walking around so gracefully they looked like spirits.I got a bit closer, they were lions! I held back a gasp of astonishment as I took a picture of the scene.Several carcasses lay scattered about the little den,but I didn't care.

Wow! Great job on the african plains! :wtg
-
Thanks!
I slipped up and made my way around the carcasses.I got close to one that looked like the "king" if you will.I called him Shadow Emporer.None of these strange lions seemed to mind that I was wondering around their dens, they just looked up at me and kept on walking.I guessed, hoped rather, that human wasn't part of their diet.

I went over to the nearby pond to get a drink of water seeing as I had been in the plain for several hours without a drink.I happen to look up and one of the shadow males was swimming right in front of me! Such graceful movements through the water. What a sight it was.

Man you've gotta be pretty darn lucky to see a pride of melanistic lions! Especially swimming ones! Great pics and story! :wtg :wtg

Those are really good pics!!! :w00t :w00t

Thanks guys (and girls). This is only my first story too.
After I had drank my fill,I happend to stumble apone a grizzly sight.A beautiful lioness was munching away on a raw carcass of an animal that was no longer reconisable.I wanted to turn away and grimace, but something held my gaze.I called her,Black Hunteress.

This is such a good idea. Nice story. Do you mind if i make a topic up sort of the same except with a different biome?
-
Great job so far! Your animals don't seem very happy! Can I do the same thing with a different biome?
-
I actually did something similer to wolfclan's with his permission,so i'd ask him.
As I was going to try and get a better look at the caves,I turned around to find Shadow Emporer strutting like an Emporer would.I didn't know if he was just haming it up for my camera,or if he was showing his leadership.Either way,I thought it was undescribable so I took a picture as quick as I could.

Alas after several days watching these magnificent creatures, the time had come for me to leave them.I was looking forward to getting back to civilization, but it also pained me to leave.I had stayed in this shaded part of africa for almost two weeks, and I had gotten pretty attached.I did manege to tare myself away.Shadow Emporer followed me to the edge of the tree grove, then roared a good-bye,and turned to go back to his pride.I watched him go,and took one last picture of the Shadow Lion Pride.

Thats right my loyal readers! I'm finally back from taking pictures for my own benefit. I got sent to Antarctica to watch the Emporer Penguins. I refused to go until summer though, and of course, you should know why.
I wondered through the over-freezing weather until I heard several calls on the breeze. I followed them the best I could until I finally noticed black dots across a frozen river.

Nice, it's great when you can't see the zoo fence, it makes it look really natural, the landscape is great too with the group of penguins in the distance.
-
merged with previous show and tell only 1 show and tell allowed per person.
-
I moved closer, being extra careful not to slip into the icey water. I knew it could freeze a person to death in minutes. The black dots were penguins! Seeing as the little marine birds hadn't had much human contact,if any at all, they waddled up to me with chirps and squacks of curiosity. I knelt down to get a closer look as they went torward me in a group.
