So it's been a long time since I needed to download anything for Zoo Tycoon and...well, I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw that the ZT Design website was closed. :surprise: A great slew of downloads were available there.  Does anyone know if they are being hosted elsewhere, perhaps?

Some have been transferred here, and many are at Zoo Admin.org. :original:

Fantastic!  It sure has been a while since I downloaded anything for the game, much less played it.  Man, I even remember when Eagle was in charge around here and when AK became chief of operations...  Well, that's off-topic.  Thanks! :original:

ZT Design, Part 2

Since the first thread was closed and I still have questions, I've made a new thread.  Sorry if seems in violation of a rule, but I didn't do it with bad intentions.

In any event, on a follow up to the link to the ZT Community Download Directory I was given in the original thread, on closer examination I noticed that there were only certain downloads available.  Is this all that remains of available of the downloads from ZT Design?  Or is there, perhaps, somewhere else where the other, not posted downloads can be located?

oops sorry thought your questins had been fully answered and if they are not listed then they are no longer available im sorry or they had a problem with the original downlaod with people are still trying to fix (some of the old files used exe files to install and this caused problems with never versins of zt1 like MM and DD and CC.)

Odd because I never had a problem with them.  In fact, I would venture to say they were among the easiest to install downloads among all the ZT1 downloads.  Oh, well, no matter--nothing can be done about it now, I suppose.  Sorry about the confusion and thanks again.

Yes they where but bedcuse they automatically overwrote the main .dll files this caused problems with expansion packs and sometimes conflicts with other user and offical downlaods.  I know that people like Jay from Zoo Keepeers Lounge is working on updating some of the files to make them compatiblae.

Most, if not all the ZT Design files need updating one way or another. Many were exe loading and put the files in the Updates folder instead of the dlupdate folder for those with MM, and CC. Also they added files to the main folder in some cases, which you would not know to delete when you removed the file. Most contain an LCID error which will cause some people's games to crash - this is dependant on the language setting people may have for their game.
ZKL had permission to host some, but not all, files while ZT Design was around.
Zoo Tycoon Community Downloads Directory (ZTCDD) now has permission to update and host all the files. When they are fixed and uploaded is dependant on when I get time to do them as currently I have a large volume of new files to get ready for release and there are a huge amount of files out there that need updating for one reason or another.
Some files contained ids that conflicted with creations of other sites. The Mystery Tree conflicts with a ZA file, is one that comes to mind.
One thing I will be doing is creating a combined dll for ZT Designs, as many used patch dlls which are known to cause sporadic problems.
Many of the buildings were done at a time when not much was known about what ZT did with food, drinks and benches etc. If you look at the listings at ZTCDD, you will find many contain warnings about early created buildings hosted at ZKL which need fixing including some of the ZT Design ones. For example, if you look at the KFC Theme Pack there, you will see 3 warnings in the same pack, all of which should be fixed.

Oh, wow, I never realized how many issues they were.  I guess I always took the files for granted and just shrugged whenever the game started acting funny--just blamed it on user error (i.e. me).  Props to you, fern, for all the work you're doing for the community!

Of curiosity, do we know what happened to the fellow running ZT Design?  Did he just get tired of Zoo Tycoon and not bother with the site any longer?

Also, I tried to download various files from the ZooTek site and couldn't--apparently there's something up with the site.  Anyone know anything about that?

Zoo Tek has run into some server problems and has a temp home that can be found in our community fansites section.

Most of their files except for some recent releases are currently unavailable. I am willing to host the files temporarily at the Directory but still waiting admin permission to add the files to the listings until the main site is back and the database again available for use.

There is already a combined lang dll Fern and I would like that to be used for ZT Designs Stuff .
I will also put some of his stuff up at my site.
Circus Scott is in my lang dll but I think it will be better in the combined one so I will change that or have it in both
I can´t see why the Zoo keepers Lounge shouldn´t have permission for all his stuff.
I am sure he would had like that
