If not could someone help me  :)

I belive my graphic processer thingie is a 82845G graphic controller made by the Intel Corporation. I can't find any websites for updates to this thing and I have no clue if i did buy a graphics card if I could even install it :sad

I had the Intel 8291G and had MAJOR problems with it too.  I got a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200.  I have a lot of PC experience so I installed mine but I wouldn't unless you are SURE you know what you are doing.  Not sure where you are but Best Buy installs stuff for a reasonable amount.  Just get the specs on your PC and let them know what you have.  Or just bring it in and let them look and they will install it for you too.  Hope this helps.....

yes that acually helps alot ;)

I had heard a few people talking that some of the video cards are... argggh can't remeber the word but basically you can't remove them and I didn't want to fork out dough just to find out I can't remove it.

With the video card you have now, does it show the reflective water?

Yes... the water is amazing.....
I think the word you are looking for is integrated.....but you can still override it an install a new one in an expansion slot.  The card you put in has a place to plug the monitor into and then away you go!!     I'd talk to the folks at Best Buy before you do anything and let them help.  All of the ones I have dealt with are very nice there...

I recommend the NiViDia GeForce as well. And this is a major brand on the market and supported by most games

I have a NVIDIA GeForce 4000, but I do not have the new water with it. So, if you want the reflective water, be sure to get one higher than mine (as said earlier, a 5200 would work).

Look at computer hardware sites such as http://www.anandtech.com first to make sure what you are buying is going to be what you want. They have sound advice on all pc subjects.

I have ES but not the new water. Soon I am getting a new graphics card, and I wanted to see if I could get one that shows the new water. I have heard that the new NVIDA cards show the new water and I found a few online for about 30 pounds (Which makes me suspicious to whether it is a really good card. 30 pounds is cheap...I think). The one I am looking into getting is this one.
Does anyone know of this graphics card and if it can play the new water?
Sorry if this is considered inappropriate.

EDIT: I just missed the topic on it. :oops
So, NVIDA 5200's show the new water?

ok, it depends on what your definition of 'good' is.

If you want a graphics card to play games at a relatively low detail currently then £30 will do the job.

But if you want to being playing current games at a nice detail and still have some room left for future titles then you need to look a little bit higher. £80-120 range.

Top end ranges from £200-£450 but anything in that range will be fine for years to come.

However the 5200 was a budget card 2 years ago, so to being honest, it is a not a good card and you'll be likely, if you want to play games in the future to be spending more money very soon. if you just want it for ES then there is nothing to worry about.

Few suggestions;

if you have PCI express then this is a good card which will last you for a good while (1-1 1/2 years of comfortable gaming) x800gt £90
if you have PCI express then this is a good card which will last you for a long time (i'd say 2+ years) 6800GS  Â£170
if you have PCI express then this is a good card which will last you for a very long time (probably 3years) 7800gt £250

There are better cards (more performance) but these are the best value for money

ahhhhh I went to my pop's today to do some laundry and I downloaded Zoo tycoon 2 ES on his computer to see if i could acually play longer than 10 minutes.... 3 hours straight(then I acually got bored :>< I couldn't believe it I had like 30 exibits and the water acually reflected (buetiful) I saw the detailed ground, ambiant animals, the leaves on the trees and see clear to the other side of the zoo :w00t  it was like being born again :happy  he had a Radeon something something which suprised me because I didn't think that they were that good.

But I will talk to the hubby to see if he'll arrange for someone to install a new chip on our compute for Christmas :whistle I don't play to many computer games so moslty I looking for a game card for the now time.

Tigeress: check the system requirements for the card you want online... should list min processor speed, RAM, etc.   check that against what your computer is currently at... you should be able to find processor and RAM speed by going to "my computer" right click, "properties" under the "General" tab

I think what had me confused was that it was a GT, not FX otherwise it would be more powerful. No prob.

There isn't really a 'system requirement' for a graphics card as such, you just need to be sure you have the right motherboard slot (i.e. agp/pci-e) for the graphics card you're getting.

Graphic card ratings across companies can't be compared numerically, 7series Nvidia Geforce is compared to the X1 (11) series Ati Radeon ....

It gets more complicated with their internal ratings. So 7 for the generation then you have ratings (as in power) say 7800, 7600 etc... But a higher number doesn't mean a better card. Just because a x1300 (in theory 11300) has a higher number than x800 (10800) doesn't mean it is a more powerful card.

In the ratings, both companies use their second NUMBER as 8 usually to represent their top cards, 6 to represent mid range and 3 and 2 for Ati and nvidia respectively for their entry level models.

check, http://www.anandtech.com for details on most graphics cards.
