Frame rate display in ZT2?
« on: August 28, 2006, 11:37:30 PM »
Hi,
Is there anyway to display the frame rate while playing Zoo Tycoon 2?  I've searched the forums and couldn't find anything on this.

My graphics card has issues with the frame rate. I wipe savannah with grassland, and savannah is still there until I zoom in closer, and then grassland shows itself. Haven't been able to resolve it though.

I want to get an exact number because sometimes it's hard to tell from the eye exactly how fast it's running.

WhitePanda: That sounds more like an issue with drawing textures.

To objectively compare the performance of different graphics cards, cpus, 3d settings, etc.  Sure, it's easy to see huge differences with the eye, but smaller differences are hard to see, and sometimes a bunch of small improvements add up to a significant one.  Plus, when describing game performance to someone else, 15fps is more objective than saying "it runs ok".  To some people people, 15fps is "ok", to others, only 60fps or higher is "ok".

wasabipeas: Frame rate is speed at which the graphics is drawn on the screen.  Usually frame rate is measured in frames per second, or fps.
