help me with my Panzer Turtle!!!

Hi, i´m new at this of making animals and i need to know the next things:
-How can i change the Meiolaina to make it a savannah/water animal like the hippo.
-To change it to an animal that likes elevation?
-Is there a way to make it a modern animal?
I hope you can help, because if a get on my way to make animals, the next things would be a Babookari from the Future is Wild, the Smilotyrannus (think of it as a Polar T-Rex) and a Jungle Demon (some kind of alternate animal of the Amazon,)
