Problem with Packs
« on: December 06, 2006, 10:40:59 PM »
Hi

I have no problem dowloading individual animals, but for some reason (just in the last few days) I can't get whole packs to download. I have mainly tried with the grassland pack, but also the rainforest rendezvous, are both not loading. I have unlimited dowload with my broadband connection - any idea what the prblem could be?

Thanks

HH

1) Do you have a download manager
2) What web browser are you using
3) Are you receiving error messages? What exactly is not working? Please be as specific as possible

Problem with Packs

Ooh, ok. Lets see. I don't have a download manager (whats that?)

As far as browser goes, I suppose AOL? (I just log on to AOL and away we go!)

There is no error message. At the bottom of the window it briefly says' downloading from site', but then instead of opening a window on my desktop with the Penguika/Design Team etc folder, nothing at all happens. Its as if it just stops the process. I have tried to search for 'Grassland' through my entire pc to see if it had got into the wrong area, but nothing!

Any help would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I've just had a thought! How long does it usually take to download. I only tried it about 5-10 minutes before disconnecting AOL. Might it need longer time?

My advice from years of using AOL is to not actually use their browser to do anything, to be honest.  Really, downloading a pack is no different from downloading any other objects apart from in size, because really they're just a zipped z2f file containing the same set of ai/entities/lang/ui files, just with more things in.

I'd try downloading using Microsoft's Internet Explorer (which should already be on your computer as default), and see if you have the same issue.
