What about RAM :fear: ? this game will probably lag really bad without probably 2 gigs of the stuff.

As for regular hard drive space, it'll probably be between 15-20 gigs of space, which is a real problem for me, cause I don't wanna get rid of any of my other game cause I like them!

My Compy likes me. Civ 4 is supposed to not work on my computer, but it still does... So Spore should be no problem.  :eggthumup

15 gigs? That'd be outrageous. I'm thinking more like 5.

I agree, there is no way that a game would take up that much space.  They would lose a lot of their market because people's computers couldn't handled the game.

I'm thinking it'll only take maybe 4-6 GB . Considering WW said that each universe is only a few KB in size the majority is probably going to be the procedural animating systems and AI . Most fansites state that the game will mostly likely be released in December. WOOHOO!!!!! Still , I think it's taking a bit too long. I mean , the first news was released in March 2004. 3 YEARS WILL!!! 3 , LONG YEARS!!!!

I seriously doubt that with all of the Editors and the fact that the game is going to have to manage the Universe all at once that the game will be half the size of a Flight Simulator.

Will Wright did say that all the things would be very, very, very compressed to be as small as possible.

Last I heard the system specs would be similar to The Sims 2, though that's probably incredibly old now.  If it's going to be all procedural, it wont be very big at all, because nothing is pre-stored, the computer generates it all according to algorithms.  It's pretty rare to see a game bigger than about 4GB, even if it is Spore.  It will probably be quite CPU heavy, but nothing that a decent-spec system these days can handle, but generally it should probably be expected to run on 1GHz processors with 512MB of RAM (even Oblivion runs on that, and that's the closest parallel I can think of).  That's pretty standard for most games on XP, but of course the more the better.

Will is practically done with the entire game. he's just redoing parts of it, maybe even accidentally making them worse. He could have released the game in 2005 and it would have been fine. 2 years later, however, and we don't even have a demo...

And your Nibbians cannot defeat my Chryidian Battle tanks!

The site says June, but will wright himself said "septemberish"

Not if my OPDMs blow your solar system up! And good luck getting you Nibblonians past my uber strong fleet of QUASARS to my solar systems one and only gas giant. There equipped with antimatter weaponry. One particle of the stuff can cause a catastrophic atomic explosion. So just think what a glob the size of a Saturn V rocket would do?  :badgnome:
