Metalic Blue "black" Leopard
« on: November 15, 2005, 07:07:55 PM »
For some reason, unknown to me, all my "black" leopards are now metalic blue. I did attempt to install two downloads, the Golden Tabby Tiger Variant Skin and the Snow Tiger Pack, both of which I removed and my "Black" Leopards are still Metalic Blue. Does anyone know what's causing this, or how I may fix it? I know there's been problems with the black leopard mentioned before, but I don't think this one has. While my new Metalic Blue Black Leopards look pretty cool, I'd like the old ones back. Here's a screenshot of one of these "Black" Leopards.

You should make that a download before you solve it. It looks awsome! Maybe you have to re-install the game. Just save your games to a disc and...well, you know what to do after that.

Cheyenne, your graphic settings for object detail and detail objects need to be at least on medium, wierd? I know.

Ah, so this happens to everyone with ES and graphics on high? Thanks for telling me, I'll ignore it since I hardly use the black leopard anyways, the only reason I noticed was because I wanted to see which ES animals wouldn't be killed when put into an exhibit with every animal from the game. African Wilddog, Komodo Dragon and Javan Rhino lived. I also found out that when extremely unhappy African Wilddogs will dig under fences to escape  :D

My internet's been down for the past few days so I haven't been able to post but I fixed this problem.

To fix it I got a new graphics card, Nvidia Geforce 5500(The best I could get for the age and slots of my computer) and I also had more RAM put in. Now my game runs ten times faster and now large zoos go at the same speed as it did just starting out before the changes, and the new water is awesome. And black leopards are now black instead of blue. For people with the same problem I highly recommend a new graphics card, it's worth the money, and mine was relatively cheap.

Edit: Whoops, sorry for double-posting.

Glad you fixed your problem. And it's ok it's not double-posting when it's some days after or even hours ;)

The problem shows up on a custom setting [I kinda like it]. From the detial of the grass in the pic I can tell that you are using it.
It is not itself a skin but a cover that places itself on any skin[as proven by this picture].

A similar problem using the same graphic settings is this:

I think this happens when the graphics setting isn't appropriate. I remember a while ago someone had this problem when the graphics were on low. This doesn't happen at all to me and my graphics are always custom with everything on max.

But i use to have that problem, its with ES on high graphics. But my game crashed like 10 seconds after i placed the animal. It Happened with the Javan Rhino for me though. So i kept it on medium settings.: :P :

I was placing some Black Leopards when I noticed they were silvery-blue chrome. I checked many of the other kinds of animals and none of them were in chrome. Is this a bug or an easter egg? Has this happened to anyone else?

I seem to have the same problem on one of my computers too. I think it has something to do with not having the latest graphics card.

Yes if I am recalling correctly it happens to the Black Leopard varient skin when your graphics is on low.

EDIT:  Or, it seems, even if they are just not on high.  Either way, merged this with the current topic.

I have ES, AA and DD. My settings are on medium, except for my view distance and overhead camera distance, which are on high. I've had it set that way many times before, but the chrome Black Leopard thing's just happned.

yeah, I had that problem. Also cool, put a florida pan. with a croc, and the panthers turn rainbow. Also, in tundra maps, on medium, penguins fade with age, if you get a ton. Also musk oxen sometimes become floating peices of fur. Yay!
