Help Problems In Main Menu

For awhile I had my message of the day working but now I haven't seen a daily in awhile. I always turn off my fire wall before hand and still nothing. Does anyone know how to solve this? Also If anyone else has this problem were you still able to see new downloads?

I havn't seen them either, I think they stopped putting them up.  ;)
