Title: Need a skinner/coder requests topic
Post by: Fawkes on June 23, 2006, 05:26:02 PM: So far I have been following the instructions given in APE 2. When you extract an animal's graphics to be put in the entitles\units\animals\animals's name\, you delete the emote.xml file as well as the txtkeys and bf files. I was wondering if you the change the animal's original name in the remaining files to the new animal you're creating. Since you're changing the animal codename, wouldn't you change the graphic file names as well?

Post by: starstruck_disaster on August 07, 2006, 09:34:06 PM: I've basically given up on my coding endeavors. While my coded rainfowl certainly works, I can't figure out the zoopedia entry or gifts, and I don't think I could make another working animal on my own :(

So here's my request. Would anyone want to team up with me to make animals? I can hand paint and easily edit skins. If you'd be willing to help me code my animals, I'll paint yours. :) We could take turns or something. My latest work is a better baby cougar skin.

It's creating entirely new animals I can't do :(

Now that i have more free time, i can code animals again (a bit rusty but can still do it). If anyone is interested please repost.

APE 2 is a good guide, but not very clear at that part. I made my own guide for Venatosaurus, if you want it PM me. It works for ES and AA. Plus the animal will have sounds, a gift, and it tells you how to make a new location.
