I recently have been working on a dog for zt2, i followed the APE2 instructions but it woulden't show up in the game!!! Please Help!: :( :

yes, i am having the same problem...i have a white square on the selection screen, and if i click it the game will crash:crying: is this what you have in your game?

To get rid of the white sqaure, make sure you renamed everything.  I did not rename the skins and had that exact problem.

I can not even get a whte box! I know i've zipped the file right and I know that there is no problems with the boiem selection.

You need to make sure that when you are zipping up the files, you go inside the folder that your creation is called. Then, select ALL of the folders in there (like entities, lang, ai, ui, locations), right click and "Add to Archive". If you zip them up when they are still in the, for example "Dog" folder, then the game will not recognize it. Also, it will not recognize it if you do not have a .dl, in which case you need to put it in the MAIN ZT2 install point (default is C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Zoo Tycoon 2) NOT the downloads area. I am zipping it inside the main folder and we need to have a locations folder and oh yeah! what is a .dl? thanks for trying to help me:original: , I must be a pain.:blushing:

The problem with the zoopedia would be the lang .xml

Do you have any expansions?  If you just use the lang file that came with Ape 2, the zooopedia won't work.  I made a lang file tutorial called LET that is available at ZooMania, you need to be a member to see it though. (follow the link in my sig to ZooMania)

I had the same problem with the white square and the game crashing.  I renamed all of the graphic files that I had gotten from the original animal and it worked.
