I am working on my first animal, a Tsavo lion, but I can not figure out how to make it so that the male lions do not have manes (in case you did not know, Tsavo lion males do not have manes). Also, I would like to fix the problem with the in-game animal icon. It is white and has no picture and none of the zoopedia pictures are working (yes, I know their is already a topic on this, but I would like to be able to fix it myself and not have to email it to someone). I have worked on it for hours and now it is just boggling my brain! :crazy :>< :blink

I have tried that, but it is not that simple because I dont know how. I would like to know how to upload the females animations into the game for the males. I would also like to know how to get rid of the white square that is showing up as the in-game icon for the animal and how to get the animals pictures in it's zoopedia working.

Sorry for double posting (it is two days later though). I have fixed the icon so that it works now. I have gotten the male to show up correctly, better yet, I have gotten the animals to show up in the game, which for me personally is AMAZING :w00t , but now there are some more issues that have popped up or still remain as they did before. For one thing, the zoopedia pictures are still not working. I have redone the Lang folder six times now, trying different things each time and nothing. The "fun facts" and all the images and the genus, species, etc. are the things not showing up, but the information that I wrote about the animal is working. Another issue now that I have noticed is that the animal has no sound (dosent sniff, roar or any other thing like that). I have tinkered around with that some, but still have yet to resolve it, and the last issue that I have noticed since I have gotten the animal into the game is that the animals' eyes are closed, even though they should be open. I am not to worried about that though, although it would be nice to actually have the animals eyes open. :><

Yep. They are showing up and everything (aside from the errors mentioned above) is working fine. I am surprised nobody knows how to fix this problem. I personally don't know what I did, I just fiddled around to the point that they started showing up in the game correctly. Once again, thanks for wishing me luck. :happy

I have no idea on how to fix it. again, I hav not even got my Binturong in my game yet. somthing might be wrong. My advice is to ask the pros like selisan tomcat, zood, martin 1990, and Red not Dead. oh yeah and possibly panda 11 and gibbon fanatic and chicken derby.

I don't know how to help with this if the only problem is zoopedia then I say oh well just release it Do people actually look at the zoopedia?

it you want to save a heap of time on teh animations, you can copy the dds's into a new folder and change F to M and then paste them back in, thats the easiest way to make both the animations, the same

Yes, I look at the zoopedia. Plus, the noises are not working still. I didn't plan on releasing it either. :erm

Just because it has so many glitches in it (the eyes not working, the zoopedia not working, the sound not working) that I can't seem to figure out how to fix (hense the reason as to why I am STILL asking for help). So if anyone knows how to fix the above listed problems and would be willing to help me fix it, let me know how to, that way I can go about tweeking the animal and maybe releasing it (if there is enough intrest in it).

OK, go to the file in ZT2 that you got the DDS files from and extract the sound file, then rename all the files in that and put it into the correct place. This should help you with your silence problem. The Shetland Pony also had the eyes closed thing wrong with it, but cant remember how to fix it and I am having the same problem with zoopedia, if you manage to work it out please tell me.

I just tried renaming and replacing the sound files, but I am not exactly sure what I should have done. Should I have the actual sounds (the .wav files)? Should I just have just the XML file? Should I have both? Where should they/it go (under entities/units/..etc)? What should it be renamed/what parts of the sounds should be renamed? Still (of course) having problems with the ZooPedia and the eyes. Thanks for trying to help though! :happy

I think I will start a project forum soon. All it looks like is the female lioness, just a bit larger. Now, if only I got these issues worked out, then maybe I might submit it, if there is enough intrest in it.
