When the animal doesn't show up it is a mistake in the entities/units/animals/ai files.

Open up each one in internet explorer or mozilla or something similar. If it just shows you all of the text like it is in notepad, then it is correct. If it shows you some sort of error or something, than there is something wrong with the file, and I would recomend redoing it. Thats usually the problem

Good luck!

hmm

Ok I am not too sure about this, but search each one for .bfm and see if the whole path matches the path to your animal

Also ake sure that the folder containing your animal is correctly named (your codename), and make sure that all of the ai files are properly named. codename, codename_Adult, codename_Adult_F, codename_Adult_M etc.

By path I think he means the lines in the files which refers to the other files the animals need. These must refer to the exact file names you are using.

I still don't know what I'm doing wrong, i'm on the verge of giving up pretty quickly. Maybe I'm just not meant for creating animals

Well I'm glad I was able to help at least one ;)

AnimalLover: So all the reference in your files refers to the correct file names?
Maybe you have some open tags (it's those starting with and ending with or just )- make sure you have as many open (the first one) as you have closing (the ones with /).

Ok, this might be your problem. When you go to the folder to get all the graphics you need to put the graphics files into the ai folder within the entities...
I hope that answered your question.
Just PM me if you need any more help with this topic.

Hi, I'm having the same problem that animalover is having with new animals files. I'm doing malasian tapir and balck bear but once inside ZT2 when I try to get the animals they do not appear and the game crash. I checked the ui, ai, lang, entities files several times and I didn't get it. Hope anyone can help on this issue.  :whistle

Me too!!! My game doesn't crash, my animal just doesn't show up!!!! All my files are right (except for this thing where I had to delete a < to make it show up on Internet Explorer), and I'm sure I have it in the right place...SO WHAT'S WRONG!!!!!!!!!

@ otusasio451: Its very probable that deleting the < is causing a problem. I would redo the file where you did that. I also found with Doooot's animal that she accidently spelled the "animals" folder wrong, she said "animal". Hopefully you can figure it out!
