Desert Theme Overwritting Endangered Species Theme
« on: June 02, 2006, 07:32:54 AM »
I noticed that cleesburg posted on the 'Questions For Blue Fang' that the Desert Theme overwrote the Endangered Species Theme. I was wondering if this happened to anyone else?

I really like the ES Theme, but want to finish the scenarios for the Desert Theme, but I don't want to loose the ES Theme.

Thanks.

it didnt actually overwrite the endangered species theme - what happened is that Aa installed into another folder (the options.xml file) and so when cs played her game it didnt find the old options file and so had no record of her having completed the stuff.  once she found the old options file and put it in the new folder then all was ok.

Ok, thanks for letting me know.  So what folder do I need to put the old options.xml into once I get the Desert Theme.

Actually, that isn't what I did. I re-installed everything (all 3 games), then copied my OLD Options file, then had to RE-DO all the AA scenarios, all of which worked this time. I didn't find out about the copying until I had done it.

But now I have everything.

Ohhh, always have to find out the hard way.

Which folder did you put it in?

The Options file goes directly into:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAMEGOESHERE\Application Data\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2\Default Profile. Under there, there will be a folder for Saved and a folder for Challenges. There may (not always) be a folder for Photos, also. The one the games/hacks go into is the Saved folder. The Options hacks go in place of your Options.

So once I get the Desert Theme, I put my original Options.xml into the Saved folder?

NO! It goes directly into
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAMEGOESHERE\Application Data\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2\Default Profile. The Options file will be BESIDE, not inside the folders there.

If RND puts up the Saved desert scenarios, THEY go into your Saved folder.

Go ahead and close the thread, I downloaded the AA zoos from the downloads, and all works fine.
