Safari Adventure (aka Panda Junior)

Has anyone played Safari Adventure (aka Panda Junior in Europe). Its an interactive game where 2 explorers (Max and Emma) are travelling on safari in Africa and get to learn about the animals they see there?

I have been having a problem getting it to work and have been trying to get in touch with the developer (Global Star / Take 2 Games)for the last 2-3 months with no luck.
It use to work just fine, but now whenever my son starts it, it freezes at the opening. Nothing will work except ctrl-alt-del and then my system returns to its normal state.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
