Hi,

In my challange game I now have to take a photo of a young komodo dragon in a lockout post! Is there somebody that already succeded in doing this?

I have the feeling that Komodo Dragons are not climbers at all, besides the lockout post is not recommended by there zookeeper. So I have the feeling that I am loosing my time to make this (impossible) picture!

Let me know if I have to keep going on?

Hi Welcome to ZA! If you've not already been there head to our introductions thread and say hi to everyone!

The Komodo on a lookout post is tricky - only the young komodo dragons will use it. I ended up creating a separate exhibit just for the baby komodo dragons, with no other toys for it to play with. You should get the photo in no time!

yes, only the baby komodos use the lookout post. When you click on a baby and then go to the zookeeper recomaondations, then click on 'toys' tthere will be a lookout post. But not for the grown ups. Maybe they ate too big? :laughing:

After a while I did succeed in taking the photo. It took me till the 3rd baby dragon till somebody wanted to climb. The first two didn't want to climb at all and turned into adults.

Now the jungle-theme is unlocked :-)

After wasting a lot of time trying to get a baby komodo to actually climb the post, i got fed up and took a picture when it was "going to investigate lookout post'. Apparently that counts as using the post, so i finally got my photo. How annoying!

another thing you can do is get rid of all the other enrichment until you get the shot.  Without anything else to play with, the baby is more likely to use the lookout post.  It makes the adults a bit angry, but only for a little while!

LOL I was never able to get my Komodo's to breed to give me a "young" komodo!
