how do i make animals smaller without using babies as adults?

You have to edit each animation in which ever paint programme you use.

can't you just edit it and apply it to all the animations using the normal method with WinZip.

Oh yes... plus you the background problem.  If you make them bigger, they tend to show 'halo's'.  (Aka red pixels around the animal... )
