APE Updates?

I'm using APE 1.1, and it seems to be missing some buttons.  The tutorial that came with it shows it having a "food" button that allows you to change food type, etc.
However, my program doesn't have that tab.
THe program also has a tab called "Properties 3" that the tutorial doesn't show.

In addition, where the program shows the animal's icon and name on the side bar, it instead shows the icon and "B60DE026 <- User added"

Is there a version of APE that is more recent than 1.1?
