Re-Coloring Help

I followed the "Creating Zoo Tycoon Material" guide by the letter, but I have still encountered a problem. Once I have renamed the file to a .zdt and have open it in A.P.E., it goes straight to the screen where you begin a new project (instead of the "General Properties" section of the animal I created. Can anyone help?

Also, how do you change the info at the bottom of the "Adopt Animals" screen to whichever continent and habitat you want?
