How Can You Combine Images Into One Animal?

Well I kind of need to know to make some animals.If anyone doesnt know what Im talking about than an example is Blackdragaon's Griffin.(Which rocks by the way) :D

Well, it's mostly a cut and paste job in paint/photoshop.  If you want to put them together.  There was someone that did a statue pack too with it, I believe.
