For your bigger dinos that need those big electric fences and are always shocking themselves and breaking out, simply build a fresh water moat around the perimeter and leave one dry spot right in front of the Gate so your Scientists can get inand out. Dinosaurs will also shock themselves less on the Fences if you do this. Post any more tips you have below :)

My key point...

NEVER mix dinosaurs unless you know from another site (say, Wiscos) that it works. Unless you have the Anti-Egg hack, you'll notice a lot of Dinosaur hatchings get along fine...only to massicre each other as adults.

Yeah, I found that out the hard way. BTW, instead of putting extra water, just lower the elevation.

What if the dinosaur can climb hills, like a Tyrannosaurus :huh ? Then it could get out and eat your guests. Actually, I've never tried the pit thing, but it doesnt sound like it would work. Of course I could be wrong...  :whistle

Does anyone know why the dinosaur's eggs don't hatch? I uninstalled it twice and the same problem keeps coming.

Here's how it goes, a scientist visits the eggs approx. 3 times and then the eggs shake. They make that cracking sound but don't hatch ever. The ice age animals don't even show up.

That's a known prob, but unfortunetly I don't know how to fix it.
You have to use cliff lowering, not hills.

If you lower the exhibit to produce a cliff two levels high, nothing (except staff) can climb it.

@Creationfan: I have heard of that problem a lot of times, but sadly do not know the answer. I would suggest removing suspect user created downloads, and then reinstalling if it fails.

Yes, for the fence thing you just lower your exhibit into the ground 2-3 squares using the cliffs tool, then you don't need electified fencing-in fact, you can just use small fencing, as the animals won't even get out of that.  Or you could download the ivisible fence-it's cheaper, you don't have to lover the exhibits, and the dinos and guests won't shock themselves on it. :)

Thanks, I did that several times already, but it should work sooner or later.

Another way to easily contain dinos that shock themselves is to build a huge tank around a big piece of land, surounding it on three sides. Then put an electric fence on the fourth side, completing the exibit. Put a stream of water on the inside of the elecric fence, or put big rocks. Leave one space with no water right in front of the gate so the scientists can get in. Put a low see-through fence on the outside of the electric fence so guests don't shock themselves. Then you have a shock proof fence, which guests can see into. (Not good if your trying to save money though)

I've mixed Kentrosaurus and Stegosaurus and they lived fine. Same with Giant Ground Sloths and Macrauchenias.

My dinos never shock themselves...  Before you do moats and cliffs, which typically lower suitability, do rocks and shelters and, if they don't trample them, large trees

Dinos will shock themselves. You can either...

A. Deal with it.
B. Lower the exhibit using the pit method

The water method only works in small exhibits

My Dad told me that if you build moats around your vegitation they wont tranple it (unless they can swim)

Also To keep from your dinos getting crowded in high trafic viewing areas leave an empty space betwe nyour path and the fence or put a small decoration (ex: Flowerbed) one tile on the inside keep the dinos happy and looks great(Noe make sure not to block the entrance

easy (well my succsessfull) way of breeding T-rexes:
*make the exibit nice and big
*put in lots of folige,so much the smiles turn to frowns, same with rocks
*put in hilly terrian
*get rid of any rubble in the exibit
*make sure theres enough water and food for them to reach
more tips & info...

Habitat: Lots of grass, with moderate amounts of gray stone, and small areas of fresh water and deciduous terrain. Also include lots of broadleaf bushes and many medium rocks. The Tyrannosaurus Rex also likes hilly terrain.

Shelter: Dinosaur cave

90% suitability: Hard

Notes: The Tyrannosaurus Rex has high bash strength.

Okay for dino digs there is  a way for you to make dinos happy with electricution fences. you put the electricution fences on the outside of the exhibit and a normal fence on the inside. Keeping foliage safe you can use the water around folaige tecnique or if you like it wild make sure the dino is happy first. that way the dinos will not smash the foilage. Pits are fun but make sure you have a rope around it so your guests dont fall down.

I found out that sinking the exhibit 2 squares works fine for all dinosaurs, except for the large carnivores (T. Rex, Allosaurus, Spinosaurus).  I usually have to go at least three levels down for them.

Triceratops and Ankylosaurus mix well.  Use the Silingira (sp) tree, and make the exhibit suitable before they hatch, ot they'll trample the plants.

Even the big carnivores are ok with 3 squares down as far as I've had.

I remember that I had both a T. Rex and Allosaurus break out of a two square exhibit.  It said "Tyrannosaurus rex 2 is not happy".  I was wondering why, because it's happiness and suitability were in the high 90's.  I looked, and It was eating a guest....Luckily I was able to get my Allosaurus back into it's exhibit quick enough.
