Okay, so I successfully downloaded the ZT2 files. They showed up on the Downloads menu of ZT2, with no Download button. How do I use these?

I'm afraid I don't know entirely what you mean by the "Download Button".

Just... why won't my downloads show up?

Hmm.... I don't know. So they do show up in the downloads screen? Are you playing in freeform? In which way did you install the downloads?

Yes, I'm playing in freeform.

I transferred all of the contents in the ZIP file to the requested area in the README.

Howdy, Lightningstar! I think if you check this topic here a lot of your questions might get answered (and your animals appear).

If that doesn't work, try using your Search button in the Tech Support under ZT2.  :happy

If you are playing ZXoo tycoon 2 then do this :
1. Download the animal.
2. Open the file you dl-ed using winzip.
3. Extract the files to your desktop.
4. You will have 1 folder and 1 dl file on your desktop.
5. Put the dl file in the folder.
6. Open the folder.
7. Cut the items.
8. Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2
9. Paste the items.

Since you have followed the alternate way to install downloads and got no results I sudgest you try the way they should be installed. There is a tutorial done with step by step instructions with pictures so you can follow it. It will take you step by step from making a desktop folder for your downloads to installing them in the game. Try it and post what results you get.

:angry  :angry HELLO????????????Hello all! ive been trying to dl two kinds of files from this site and both do not work: 1. the zt2 maps i dont know where to place them
2. the Es stuff unlock in packs agin i do not know where to place them...plz help and reply ASAP :crying

Okay, the downloaded hacks with saved games in them go in:
C:\Documents and Settings\*****\Application Data\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2\Default Profile\Saved

the **** are where your ACTUAL NAME appears (like Mike, or Sally, or Owner or Administrator). If you cannot see this path, then your hidden files are not showing. Either you or the owner of the computer needs to 'allow hidden files to show'.

This is what I've been trying to explain to you in the other topic you made about this!!!!

• Go to your start menu and select my computer
• click on local disk C
• click on documents and settings
• click on your user name
  
• click on application data (this is a hidden file)
• click on microsoft games
• follow the next two folders and save the file you are downloading into the folder called Saved.
• make sure the folder you just downloaded is unzipped.
