i downloaded a dark lion male varient today and im not sure how to install it, ik its probably a stupid question but im new to the ZT2 downloading stuff, please tell and thanks

Well, that's a good question! Reason is, normally they go directly into the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2 folder. But, sometimes that doesn't work, and some members have found that copying them into the
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2\downloads folder (if you have one) works. If you don't, you can create one with no problems.
I say copy, not cut/paste because it's never real clear which one will work, so having them in 2 places doesn't really hurt anything.   :whistle Hope that helps!? :happy

I put my varient skins inside the downloads folder but they don't work!
Any other ideas please?

ok i put in a downloads file and added the skin to it but it is in a new section that says files waiting to be copied to CD, is it fine or do i need to do anything else?

No, that's NOT okay.  :shocked That message means you're trying to copy something ONTO a blank CD. If that's what you're really trying to do, STOP because that's illegal. If, as I suspect, that's not what you mean to do, then you've done something wrong. If you could, please list, step-by-step what you have done. Start with
Step 1 - downloaded from ZA
Step 2 - unzipped files using WinZip (or WinRAR)
Step 3 -
and continue from there. We'll see if we can help you straighten it out.  :happy

ok, thats definatly not what i wanted ,ok let me try this...

step 3- copied the varient file
step 4-pasted it in my ZT2 hard drive thing(i think this may be were i went wrong, is there a file on the computer that is ZT2?)
step 5- says i have to copy it to blank CD -_-'

You do not want to place the the download on the Zoo Tycoon 2 CD. There is tutorial here. Make sure you follow it word-for-word and very carefully. It will work and you do not ever want to put it on the ZT2 hard drive.

But now, this is not really related to the topic so if you need further help I would suggest going over to download support in general discussion.
