Dual Animal IDs?
« on: August 28, 2006, 08:46:31 AM »
Not sure were to post this, but.....

While scanning through that AMAZING list (compiled by the imfamous Pixiger) of all the Offical ZT/DD/MM/CC Animals, Objects, etc. ID numbers, I noticed that both the Bowhead Whale & the Whale Shark are listed twice, and with two different ID numbers. I opened up their respective AI files and found out which ones were "really" correct, but who/what belong to the other two numbers???

(It's not earth shattering, but it was just kinda gnawing at me! )

The "good" IDs are:

Whale Shark 5504
Bowhead Whale 5517

The "duplacate" (not right) ones are :

Whale Shark 5185
Bowhead Whale 5187

Just curious......

In addition to animal numbers, there are also family and genus numbers inside the ".ai" files, from Blue Fang's perspective. In many cases, the genus name is the same as the animal name, but with numbers in the genus range. So 5504 "Whale Shark" and 5517 "Bowhead Whale" are the animal ids and names while 5185 "Whale Shark" and 5187 "Bowhead Whale" are the genus ids and names.
