The name's Denham, Jack Denham, and I'm a dinosaur hunter. To some, it may sound strange, but to me, it is very real.
I started out as a zoologist, but when the boss of a company called DPF, the Department of Prehistroic Fauna, called me, he suggested I come meet him.
I did, and he told me of his time bending portal. It had been tested already, and worked amazingly. He asked me if I was up to a challenge, and this challenge was to create and maintain a small breeding center of long-extinct animals. I took the job, and he put me in charge of everything.
This is my story...
-
ooh, can't wait to see what critters you'll be encountering!
-
About a week later, he escorted me to a large tract of land. It was far from any civilization, and had no interaction with the outside world, except for that of a long road leading to- Heh, sorry, I can't tell you where this place is.
We started work on the exhibits that would one day hold the massive beasts, and we had used the natural resources to our advantage. We surrounded a small hardwood forest with thick electrical fencing, to keep in the animals. We put a small fence around a large fissure in the ground, which would one day become the home of an animal that would change my life, or possibly end it...
We continued construction for another five months, and when it was done, I was ready for the adventure...
-
whoa how ya gonna make a good story there are bareley any prehistoric fauna in the game or for download?
-
You'll see...
-
http://z14.invisionfree.com/Zoo_Tycoon_Volcano/index.php?showforum has alot of extinct animals.
-
Sorry, but I don't use user downloads, which makes this a little more interesting, at least how I'm gonna use my extinct animals.
-
oh?
-
RAAK! RAAK! The birds of the late cretaceous filled the jungle with noise. The steamy atmosphere made my skin sweat. During this time, the planet was much, much hotter. I was in what would one day become Montana, but now it was the home of dinosaurs.
-
I don't mean to be a know it all but there was no grass in the late cretaceous.
-
Yes, I know, but it's the best I could do with ZT2.
The bushes nearby rustled, and my team and I crouched, guns poised, ready for attack. Out from the underbrush came the beak of an animal. But this was no bird's beak, this was the beak of a dinosaur.
-
styracosarus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
My team quietly crept back, as the creature emerged from the forest. I noticed it to be a cerotopsian, a horned dinosaur. It had long spines on it's frill, and a long horn above it's beak. Styracosaurus, I thought, Styracosaurus albertensis, to be precise. Styracosaurus was a close relative of Triceratops, but it was smaller. When it came into full view, it did not run, nor did it show any signs of aggression. Possibly because we smelled of mammals, which, at this time, were all very small, about the size of possums.
-
Can't wait for more:specool:
-
You could always just use dirt, which has less grass. Otherwise great story Packraptor.
-
The dinosaur watched us for a while, then made a bellow-grunt, and a few more of them came into view. I could tell that this was a small herd of animals, led by a pair of males. There were only four of them, two males and two females. They probobly strayed from the main group to forage for food.
Sorry for editing the last post, I found out that one of the pics was supposed to go here instead.
-
I was right
-
I had to act fast. I knew these animals would want to move on, and I knew that they wanted to return to the main herd, so I...
-
awsome story so far if zt2 extinct expansion pack is real when it comes out imagen the possibilities of time traveling stories you could make
-
I don't mean to be a know it all but there was no grass in the late cretaceous.
I hate to prove you wrong, but quite recently, paleontologists found fossil grass that dated back to the late cretaceous, it was already highly evolved

-
ya ventoasaurus
-
Seventy five million years after I saw the Styracosaurs, my team was herding them into their new exhibit, in the hardwood forest of the reserve. We had been watching them for quite some time, and we already had names for them. The first one we saw, which was one of the males, seemed to be the most dominant of them all, so we named him Sergeant. We named the other male, who preferred to hang out with the females more, "The Lady's Man", or TLM, for short. The two females were named Thelma and Louise, as they acted like the intrepid duo.
-
About a week later, he escorted me to a large tract of land. It was far from any civilization, and had no interaction with the outside world, except for that of a long road leading to- Heh, sorry, I can't tell you where this place is.
Well, if you want guests in your zoo, you'll have to tell someone where it is eventually. :rofl2: Serously, great story so far. Can't wait to read more.
-
yeah, the story is great. I look forward to hearing more.
-
Thank you, everyone, for your replies. I've already got some more of the story ready, but I'm saving it for tommorrow. Hope yall will like it.
-
Cool pics! Can't wait for more!

Animal Planet lied to me! Thanks for the info.
-
Very good pics! they would look real, apart from the fact that dinos are extinct! great job!
-
This is really cool. It sounds very interesting. really good pics too.
-
Animal Planet lied to me! Thanks for the info.
Well animal planet didn't really lie to you. The programms you saw on Animal Planet
about dinosaurs were made before the discovery of mesozoic grass
-
Wow great photos. King Hoopla, mabye is a private zoo.
-
Wow! Thanks everyone! I'll tell some more of the story later today, but I was wondering if anyone has found something special in this story, aside from the fact that it had Mesozoic grass, dinosaurs, a time portal, or any of that stuff. It has to do with a name...
-
The story is nice.
-
prehistoric park ? after the tv show here in oz?
-
Nah, the secret thing is a name, not a theme. I'll give you a hint, the name is related to dinosaurs, somewhat.
-
let me guess mezozoic park or cretaceous park or ....... a ill just give up
-
Jack Driscoll and Carl Denham, from King Kong '33 and '05.
Combined make Jack Denham. I'm guessing that is the whole secret thing.
-
is it how in your sig the name is similar to the old "bond, james bond"?
-
Jack Driscoll and Carl Denham, from King Kong '33 and '05.
Combined make Jack Denham. I'm guessing that is the whole secret thing.
Correct!!!
And, yes, I did kinda make a joke with James Bond, but that wasn't the secret.
Story continues soon.
-
Now, back to the story!
The Styracosaurs seem to be getting on well, and some are even showing signs of the breeding season. Sergeant and TLM are fighting a bit, possibly because they are going into the rut, but we believe it'll pass when the breeding season is over.
-
I realy like this story. It is very interesting!
-
Thank You!
The slow flow of a nearby creek enhanced the atmosphere of the late cretaceous. I was back, but this time I was looking for other animals.
Presently, I was watching a flock of smaller dinosaurs, Avimimus. This was odd, because these dinosaurs were supposed to live in Asia, while I was in North America.
"These must be a new species of Avimimus," I told a few members of my team. I had my sights set for them, an undiscovered species of dinosaur, completely new to science.
Editor's note: yes, I know that these aren't really Avimimus, but they're close enough, right?
-
I watched the flock forage through the undergrowth, searching for lizards and such. Suddenly, one member of the flock jerked it's head up, cocking it from side to side, no doubtedly listening to something...
-
Looking awesome! Keep up the good work!
-
In an explosion of activity, a large, carnivorous dinosaur burst from the treeline, headed for the Avimimus. It quickly snatched one up, and sped off, back into the jungle.
-
Ahhhh! Monster!
-
The rest of the flock ran for their lives, and accidentally cornered themselves in a small valley in all of the confusion. We took advantage of this oppertunity, and quickly built a temporary fence around one side, so as to keep them there, until we decided to bring them back to the 21st century.
-
I had my team set up camp around the temporary Avimimus pen, and I set off to see the massive predator that scared them...
-
awsome i love the way you used the secretary birds*cough* i mean avimimus
-
The suspense.....
-
Wow! Nice Photos Packraptor!
-
Can't wait for the next update! :woot:
-
it's a great story and all, but if you wan't the avimimus to work you're going to have to download the user made stuff:cards:

WOW i love ur storyline adn can't wait to see what happens next
-
Well, if you liked it so far, you guys haven't seen anything yet!
-
Ooooh can't wait! :woot:

YAAY I cant Wait!!!!!!: :) :
-
Alright! More story in a few hours. It's pretty good!
-
"Come on guys," I shouted to my two assistants, "we gotta go see what that was!"
I was in the late cretaceous, and on the trail of a massive beast, which had recently startled a flock of North American Avimimus. We followed a well-worn trail thinking that that was the route the creature had taken.
-
Wow, great ..... I can't say park, but this is a great design! I can't wait to see the next part. I can guess what the large carnivore is....
-
Same here. Keep going PackRaptor!
-
This is a cool story Packraptor! :specool: Nice idea using s. birds for avimimi. : :) : (Did I get that plural right? )
-
um maybe a group of hebivores b\c of the trail it must be sauropods because you said ya havent seen anything yet and that must mean its big and sauropods are big
-
what? cool story.
-
WOW!Thanks guys!
We tracked the creature for hours, which was hard, even though the creature was probobly over forty feet long! We decided to take a break, and think of what we would do next. We stopped at a large cliff, and watched the river below.
-
I love that cliff pic, Keep it up!
-
Suddenly, we heard a shuffling behind us. We knew we were being watched, but by what?
-
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO ScArY!
-
Awesome! Keep goin, lovin it!

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I've been kinda busy. With what? Drumroll please!
Jack Denham: Dinosaur Hunter- The amateur motion picture!
It doesn't quite fit with this story, but it is similar. It involves Jack Denham (played by yours truly) going back to the mid-cretaceous, when the mighty Utahraptor was dying out, and when other animals, like Euoplocephalus, and Leptoceratops were just beginning to emerge. I try to find a Utahraptor, and bring it back, but along the way, I encounter other animals, including the massive Astrodon, and a unknown type of pterosaur. I end up bringing several animals back, and care for them in a dinosaur sanctuary.
Can anyone guess the animals that I bring back?
*hint: there are 4 species brought back*
What do you guys think?
-
awsome but whar the heck are ya gonna use for those animals?
-
what the heck are ya gonna use to make those animals and a amateur motion picture what are ya gonna use for dinosaurs there? You must have to be creative cause i wouldnt know what to use for those animals* sorry for the double post my computer got messed up*
-
Ah, well you are looking at (or, not really looking at, well, reading the post of) a very artistic person. I love to make things, and so do my friends. Last year, my school had a play. My best friend and I signed up for prop making, but at the last minute signed up for acting. We're good in both, which is why we are the main characters. I've already started to try out making the dinosaur eggs. Does anyone else notice that the liquid stuff you use for paper mache lasts for a very, very long time? I've got one egg ready, and when it fully dries, I'm gonna cover it with wall mud to smooth the creases out and add some texture.
Also, try and guess what kind of animals I bring back. I love guessing games.
-
utahraptor,Euoplocephalus,Astrodon, and another species and let me guess your gonna use one of your pets as a dinosaur.and where ya gonna show the motion picture. Its gonna be awsome are ya gonna have any sauropods?
-
So far these have been guessed correctly:
Utahraptor
Euoplocephalus
Those are the only ones that have been guessed right. I am encountering an Astrodon which is a sauropod. No, I'm not gonna use one of my pets as a dinosaur, though my gecko might be in a few shots.
2 more! Keep-a-guessing!
-
Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops Horridus and whats your park gonna look like the one from p.p man i wish i could do something like that how ya gonna make the dinos cgi cause theres like some program with a book called modeling digital dinosaurs and what site will your movie be on and when will it be released hey i may be speaking to a future actor
-
Nah, those two aren't in the movie (they didn't even live at the time I'm going to).
My reserve will look a bit like prehistoric park, but it's more forest, and has a bit of a temperate climate.
Sadly, my artistic talents don't go as far as CGI, and my animals will be made the old fashioned way, life-sized models. Not the whole dinosaur, just the major bits and pieces, like the head, feet, tail, and back.
I doubt that I'll be a future actor, I really want to work at a zoo. But, If some company asks me to act in a special, like Nigel Marvin and his special, Prehistoric Park, then I will jump at the oppertunity.
EDIT: Also, I have a few detailed dinosaur head puppets, and an animatronic animal, which will be brought back. I also have a fake raptor hatchling.
-
wow can i see pics and whoh your good the only id have would be a parrot a chihuahua and a fake palm tree but you got animatronics puppets holy moly ya gotta be rich jeeze and your my age i dont know many 14 year olds who can do that
-
Thank You! I don't have any pics yet. Filming is scheduled for next summer, but I might be able to get some pics of the props after I make them. Oh, and by all means, I am not rich, I'm just very creative.
-
wow next summer thats a long time away and the other 2 animals are Abelisaurus and Iguanodon cause saw some show and it showed a pack of utaraptor hunting a herd of iguanodon. And i cant wait to see more of your zt2 story
-
Still, the other two remain a mystery. I'll just go out and tell ya. The other two animals are Leptoceratops (eggs) and an unknown species of pterosaur.
-
your making a moive? you abandoned the ZT2 prestiroc park!
-
Umm, packraptor, i know the movie would be OK and all, but the mods are gonna close this if you abandon the ZT2 part, and that wouldn't be good. we all like the topic.
-
As this is a SHOW and tell not just a TELL and no pictures have been posted for a few pages this is now closed. please pm a mod/admin when you are prepeared to actually post some pictures.
Re-opened if no pictures posted properly will be reclosed within 24 hours.
-
Alright! I'm baaaack!!! And I've got a whole new chapter to the story! Here we go!!!
We decided to jump. As I launched myself from the cliff-face, I quickly got a glance of the animal that attacked us. I fell eighty-feet before hitting the fast-flowing water, and was swept downstream.
We were sure that the creature wouldn't follow us, so we swam across the river with the current. When we got to the other side, we collapsed, and fell asleep.
-
OH NO! Hope you didn't break anything...
-
We awoke to a strange smell. it was very pungent and musty. I had smelled it before, but not in the cretaceous, at least not as strong as now. It smelled like a bull elephant, like one that had gone into musth.
I quickly stood up, and saw the creature that had attacked us, thirty yards upstream, walking towards us.
-
THis is very cool. Your doing a great job.
-
Wow, this is terrific!! I wish I had those dinos too...but it won't
work on my computor:crash: Great story!!!:original:
-
I hope that dinosaur doesn't get any closer....
-
WOW :surprise:
Raptor your a great story melker (maker and teller)
I wonder what will come in the next story??
Though may i ask for moup re pics and pics of the park (Just becouse there GREAT)
:bounce: :rolleyes: :specool: :nice: :IloveZA::feest012:
-
Thanks everyone, and the best is still to come!
I quickly got up, and hurried my team to the jungle, where we would be able to hide. But we couldn't get that far...
-
oh noes!! hide somewhere!!:bar:
GREAT STORY!
[modnotice=Seraphii] Please do not post in all caps. Thank you. [/modnotice]
-
Alright, time to get into some action!!!
The beast that had attacked the Avimimus walked out of the forest, and walked straight to the other animal, which I realized was a Triceratops. I couldn't quite identify the species.
The Avimimus killer roared, a sound so loud that it hurt our ears. I looked at it, and realized it was the the most feared dinosaur of them all, a Tyrannosaurus rex! But something was strange. This was no fifty-footer, this dinosaur was only about forty-five feet long. I realized it was a male, which were smaller than the females.
The Triceratops bellowed in response, and came charging towards the Tyrannosaur, who stood his ground. We quickly got out of the way.
The T.rex jumped out of the way at the last second, and delivered a bone-crunching bite to the Trike's back. The herbivore squealed in pain, and pivoted around to face the predator. It charged, and the T.rex dodged again, this time slicing the Triceratops with it's talons on it's feet. Now the Trike was getting angry.
-
Great story I can't wait to see what happens next.
-
same with me are ya gonna bring em back to the park?Awsome story wait till simba releases his other animals brachiosaur smilodon wooly mammoth and more
-
Great story!!!! I'm dieing to see what comes next!!:woot:
-
The Trike was getting angry, and this time it went for the T.rex's leg, and hit home. The Tyrannosaur was gored, and fell to the ground. The Trike was dazed and lightheaded, probobly from the carnivore's bite.
You see, the teeth of Tyrannosaurus were serrated, like a shark or Komodo dragon, and similar to the Komodo dragon, when it eats, bits of meat get stuck in the teeth and rot, creating a potent mix of bacteria. When the rex bit the Trike, the bacteria oozed in, and began to slowly kill the herbivore.
-
Well, I guess I'll just go ahead and finish this part.
The Triceratops ambled off. It had no idea that it was dying. The Tyrannosaur was still alive, but barely. It couldn't get up, it's leg was gored, and blood was pouring out.
That's when I got an idea.
-
Your story is Amazing i can't wait for for more. I hope the T-rex gets better
-
let me guess: youll take the t rex back.
-
I like that little thing about the Rexes diseased filled mouth you made up. Very creative.
-
Thanks everyone. And Megaraptor, that thing about the rex's mouth is based off fact. I read it in "Predatory Dinosaurs of the World", by Gregory S. Paul. The book is a bit outdated, but most of the theories are still used today.
-
Really? I've never heard that before.
-
It's really good, you should read it. Let's discuss this in the book thread before anyone comes and closes this.
-
Lord forbid!! This is totally sweeeeeeet!!!:specool:
-
Can't wait for more! Go T REX! LOL!
-
Okay everyone! I've got more of the story ready! Who wants to hear it? Alright, I'll post in about and hour or so.
-
Sorry it took so long everyone. I had alot of things to do.
Anyway...
I was in a sticky situation. I had an injured T.rex which needed to be saved, but no way to catch it. That's when I got an idea.
I ran back to my camp, but when I got there, everyone had left, and they had taken the Avimimus flock with them. "They must have gone back to the future" I thought. I hoped that they had sent the time machine back so that we could return home.
I quickly ran through the jungle to where the time machine was supposed to be. "Yes!" I shouted, "they left it here!" They had. There it was, the greatest invention since the wheel. A machine which could teleport you to anywhere, and anywhen.
-
I hurried my way in to the machine and searched through our supplies. "Got it!" I said, as I grabbed a few chunks of meat out of our food stores. I quickly dropped some on the floor, to lure the Tyrannosaur in.
I ran as fast as I could back to the T.rex, which was trying to get up as I arrived. I used some more of the meat to get his attention, and he began limping towards me.
I let him get as close as I dared, then I lured him towards the time machine. He followed me, and soon noticed the pile of meat on the floor.
-
Great pictures
-
oooo a time machine
-
After he made his way in, we quickly got behind the steel bars that seperated part of the time machine from the main holding area, which was designed to hold large animals.
The T.rex knew something was wrong. He tried to escape, but we had already closed the time machine, so there was no going back.
He roared in frustration, and attacked the bars. The dinosaur tried all he could to escape, and to attack us. He roared, he stomped. He attacked the bars again, and this time snapped a few of them.
"Jack, we have to go NOW!" my teammate yelled.
I quickly flipped the switch and...
-
i hope he makes it safely to the future
-
Does he make it? And what will becomeof the Triceratops? Tune in next time!
-
"Jack!" my assistant shouted, "The T.rex is doing it again!"
I was back home, back in my own time. We had recently captured a large male Tyrannosaurus rex, along with a whole flock of a new species of Avimimus.
I made my way to the quarentine pen, and looked at our newest addition. He had been exhibiting some strange behavior. His leg, which was gored by a Triceratops 80 million years ago, had fully healed by now, which was a very good sign. It showed that dinosaurs, well, at least T.rex, had a very good immune system, and could heal from extreme wounds, similar to crocodilians.
Recently, he had been attacking the sides of the qurentine pen.
-
Yea hes better!!! but maybe now hes depressed because hes all alone
-
I decided to leave. I thought that the T.rex was just having a temper tantrum, and was doing what he could to calm himself down.
I headed towards the new Avimimus paddock. These animals were of a new species, and they were given the name of Avimimus americana. The flock was settling in nicely. When we gave them their vaccines, we found out that two of the five were males, and three were females. Perfect, a breeding colony.
That's when I remembered. I should check on our first arrivals, the Styracosaurs. I made my way down the paths to their enclosure, and went inside. I looked around for a few minutes, but I couldn't find them. How could a four creatures bigger than a rhino hide so easily?
-
Did they escape???
-
We'll all have to wait and see IIINNNN... JACK DENHAM! Dinosaur Hunter.... : :) :
-
I hope the T-rex didn't have a mrs. rex and rex jr. back in the cretaceous.:hmmm:
-
good point, dinomaster, t rex males might have a big role in there youngs lives, at least for the first part of its life. nice story
PS: large animals can simple fade into forests, and the strongest colors can blend into forests. very nice pics.
-
Actually, they recently discovered some remains of grass from the late Cretaceous. I think it had been digested by a dinosaur...
-
(Toad-Wolf: That was already established.)
Any way great story packraptor :)
-
welcome toad wolf and dinomaster, to zoo admin! hope this is updated soon.
-
hey another dinomaster! and :welcomean to you to toad wolf! cant wait for the next installment!
-
aragh! 2 dino masters!
-
Thank you dinomaster30 and beagleboy (and also I have a beagle named louie   )
-
Hey everyone! I'm back! And with more story, and this time, something very interesting happens...
I decided to take a break, maybe they would move around and I would be able to find them then. That's when I heard it. It wasn't a loud sound, just a faint one, coming from the farthest part of the enclosure, the part with the thickest forest. It sounded like scraping, and I thought it would be one of the Styracs rubbing against a tree, probobly to remove an itch or mark it's territory.
I followed the sound, and soon found one of the females. It was Louise. What was she doing?
I moved closer and realized what it was...
-
She Was Making A Nest!!!!!!!!
-
I know she is probably building a nest
-
I know she is probably building a nest
I'm pretty sure shes building a nest too...
-
BABIES! And as stated before, I love your story
-
Wooooot! Babies! I love the little dinos. Keep up the good work and good luck.
-

-
Thanks everyone. I'll post more of the story tommorrow, probobly. Oh, and I'll give you a hint at what hapens next. While Jack was gone, his crew that stayed in the present were working on something special, which will allow him to bring back even more animals... You shall guess!!! Haha!
Oh, and also: Yeah! 300 posts!
-
Thanks everyone.
300 posts!
Great story, and i guess 1 of your animals is going to be a... actually, i have no idea! :loony:
-
Alright everyone, here's a little more.
I finally saw it. A nest. Louise was building a nest! She didn't seem to mind my presence, or that of another keeper. This was good, it seemed that she trusted us. I wached her constuct her nest, first pushing the earth around with her back feet, then padding it down and constructing the shape with her front feet.
-
Soon will be the pitter-patter of little three-toed feet.
-
Haha. More like four and five toed feet (styracosaurs had four toes on some feet and five on others, I can't remember which). Can anyone guess what the next animal in the reserve will be? If you get it right, you get the grand prize! What is it? One of Csleesburg's cookies I saved from September! Haha!
-
:sign_lol:
Great story well so i beg the next ones will be boring...LIKE THAT WILL HAPPEN
I mean great story maker upper.
I must say though wont it be hard to actilly get babies becouse in the books/tv/internet i heard that only 15% out of 100% will live onto adult hood.
DinoMania Out.

:yesmaster terror bird, dienosucus, or Carnotaurus
-
Tricaratops
-
I think the next creature to be brought back has to be a T rex - whether the injured one or another one. I am presuming for now it's the injured one, as his footprint will be recognisable instantly.
-
what indured one? didn't he bring that one back already? I'm geussing another t-rex ( or two (possibly his mate and his baby)
-
Cool. Lots of guesses. You'll all find out pretty soon, like, this weekend or so.
And, you don't have to guess any more.

I'll post more of the story Sunday. I'm going to Virginia tommorrow to visit my uncle, cousins, and friends. We have alot of extended family there. Well, for those of you who keep posting here, thank you very much. And, if you want, you can all guess names for the T.rex. He already has one, but if you guys get it right, then you get half of the cookie I saved. And here's a hint: I've already suggested this name for a male Tyrannosaur in someone's show and tell.
-
Male-Elvis
-
Ora(Oro)
-
Rex : :P :
-
I want to remind the members that this is a show and tell thread and not a guessing game. Please do not leave one word posts as the ones above. This can be considered spamming a thread and is not acceptable.

Hello everyone! I'm back from Virginia. Nice place. Anyway, I told you I'd post some more of the story, so I will now. Here we go!
When she finished her nest, she began laying her eggs, and covered them with some leaves, to keep them warm. If Louise sat on her eggs, like a bird, then she would crush them with her several-ton weight. While she was laying her eggs, I noticed that Louise was acting strange. She was looking straight ahead, and wouldn't react when I moved around, or talked to the other keeper. We concluded that she went into a trance while laying her eggs, similar to crocodilians, turtles, and some snakes. Great! Another dinosaur behavior to check off the list.
And for those of you who guessed, the answer is: Elvis! Congratulations Eggleston1992! And, sorry, while in Virginia, I got hungry and ate the cookie. It was still good, but was covered in pocket lint.
-
I dont get when a dino lays her eggs, it looks like there are three, but it's only one.
-
I dont get when a dino lays her eggs, it looks like there are three, but it's only one.
maybe its supposed to be that some dont hatch
-
Yes!!!! i got it right, thats ok packraptor
-
Thanks Eggleston, I kinda felt bad *burps*. mmm... several month old cookie....
Anyway:
I was amazed at Louise and her nest. But I had to leave, because the other keepers were releasing the T.rex, which was now named Elvis (the king of dinosaurs, named for the king of rock n' roll), into his new home, the giant fissure in the center of the reserve. By the time I got there, he was already in the fissure.
-
Elvis looks so happy in his new home and the Styracosaurus looks even happier now they've layed eggs.!
-
Okay, this'll be one of the last posts tonight, I'm gonna watch America's Funniest Home Videos soon, and then I'll get some more updates, hopefully.
We gave Elvis some more meat, and hoped that he was alright. He was still being aggressive, but this time, he was attacking the trees in his enclosure. I had to do something. I couldn't have the first T.rex in sixty-five million years to be unhappy. I needed to do something.
-
I hope Elvis is ok.:elvis:
-
Hey everyone. Sorry that it's been so long, I've had alot of homework this week. But I did get some time today, so I wrote this bunch here:
Two weeks later, the newest animal arrived. It was a new resident, but it wasn't exactly very spectacular. This new creature was a bison, but it still helped us at the park.
I realized that Elvis was taking his aggression out on the trees, because he couldn't take it out on his food. This would also explain why he attacked the Triceratops so long ago.
I got the bison to give to Elvis, so that he could chase it, attack it, fight it, and eat it, like he would in his time, with smaller dinosaurs.
I chose a bison, instead of a cow or goat, because bison still have that little bit of wild inside of them, unlike the other two animals, and will still fight back, giving Elvis more of a challenge.
Well, sorry to those who guessed what the next animal was, because you all got it wrong. Maybe next time.
Also, if you look closely, you can see the next part of the story in that picture.
-
i think i saw tank walls a marine animal maybe an extinct marine animal?
-
the marine walls are the time machine.
-
Can we see Elvis attack the bison? :bounce:
And I'm guessing the next part is on some kind of forest animal, living in that enclosure just behind the bison.
-
Is the next animal an archaeopteryx???
or a carnotaur?
-
Okay, I'm back! And to answer the questions:
The tanks walls are part of the time machine
The exhibit behind the bison is Elvis'
We can't see Elvis attack the bison, but we can see him 'chase' it.
The next part is in front of the time machine, because it's the quarentine pen
Okay, and here's some more of Jack Denham: Dinosaur Hunter!
As soon as we lowered the bison into Elvis' enclosure, he began stalking it, his natural instincts taking over. "Yes!" I said, "my plan is working." The bison sniffed the air, and knew something was going on.
It never would have known the end would be like this...
NOW, you can see another part of the story in this picture, a part which I hinted at a few pages ago. It will allow him to bring back a bigger variety of creatures.
-
I can see a tank wall - is it an indoor house, with a cooling system, to contain ice age creatures, like mammoths?
-
Elvis:yay! home-made bison! just like grandma used to make...
-
he just said the tank walls were the time machine!
edit: oops, its really is a tank, so its a marine animal?
-
Alright, alright, alright. I'll tell you guys what it is: It's the time machine, but I DO have an indoor house. Okay. That's all ya get to see now, though. It's not a tank. At least not yet... hehehe...
-
This secrecy is driving me insane, you know that right? If I start making crazy posts around here, I blame you :lolol:
-
I thought it had something to do with the rock XD cause its temperate and the exhibit is grassland. I guess I only see the obvious.
-
We'll have to wait and see...
-
I wish packraptor would hurry up with the next one
-
i wonder if he'll ever come back...
-
Elvis:yay! home-made bison! just like grandma used to make...
uh your grandma made bison!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:surprise: :surprise: :surprise: just kiding lol I can smell homecooking:dindin: :dindin: :dindin:
-
packraptor come back!! i just love your story, it is one of the best ideas ive seen on ZA, no offence to others, me and everyone else would really love to see more!
-
maybe hes on vacation..
-
Has Anyone ruled out the light possibility of a marine reptile- like a ickthiosaur or pleisiosaur?
-
um.. yes, he said so, like a page back...
-
Sorry everyone. I've had alot of homework lately (DANG you Math, Dang YOOOOUUU!!!). And I've been doing some stuff with my dad, and yesterday I was working on another secret project you'll see some time this week (as late as Sunday). I'll give you one hint: it has nothing to do with dinosaurs. Don't worry you dino-fans, I'll be back, with more of the story, I've even got the pictures ready.
-
Has Anyone ruled out the light possibility of a marine reptile- like a ickthiosaur or pleisiosaur?
i dont think any one has made one of those.
-
Don't tell me - something to do with Christmas? :innocent:
-
Don't tell me - something to do with Christmas? :innocent:
YUP!!!
I'll try and post that later today, or some time tomorrow, but for now, here's the conclusion of Elvis' encounter with the bison.
This may be a bit violent for some, just a warning
I could see it happening all over again, exactly as it had so many millions of years earlier. Elvis exploded from behind a tree, trampling everything in front of him, just as he had when he attacked the Avimimus so lo long ago.
The bison ran as fast as its legs could carry it, as far from the massive dinosaur as possible. Elvis was much faster than the poor bison, and he overtook it within seconds.
There was no hope left for the doomed bison, as Elvis closed his four-foot jaws around it's torso, his seven-inch teeth, the size of the fangs of the infamous saber-toothed cat, dug into the bison's hide.
As Elvis finished his new meal, he ambled over to a tree in his exhibit, and began to sleep of his meal, digesting it contentedly.
-
SAVAGE! :bounce: :woot:
Yay! I got it right! :party5:
-
Yeah, I've made a small warning for some of those that don't like stuff like that. Sorry everyone.
-
Alright, alright, alright. I'll tell you guys what it is: It's the time machine, but I DO have an indoor house. Okay. That's all ya get to see now, though. It's not a tank. At least not yet... hehehe...
he said its NOT a tank, and marine aniamls eed tanks, got it?
-
Wooot! Keep up the good work Packraptor! And beagleboy, they may not need a tank, they could have a lake or something for it.
-
Hello everyone! I told you all that I was working on another project, and someone guessed it right. It's about Christmas! It's: The 12 days of Christmas, ZT2 style! If you don't know how the song goes, then make up a tune for yourself.
Well, here we go! (I'm starting on the 12th, because I only have 12 pics)
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my zoo finally recieved:
Twelve Chimps a jokin'
Eleven muddy Warthogs
Ten sprinting Cheetahs
Nine Ocras splashing
Eight Zebras prancing
-
Seven Lions roaring
Six Ring-Tailed Lemurs
FIVE WOLVERINES!!!!
Four Gorillas
-
Three Nile Crocs
Two striped Tigers
And an Elephant with a Killy Treeeeeeeeeeee!!! (in the background)
-
Thats funny(http://mud.mm-a6.yimg.com/image/2218075790)
when are you going to post some more posts for Jack Denham: Dinosaur Hunter
-
Cool packraptor!!!! Great Job!!!!!:specool:
-
I just realized I wrote "Two Nile Crocs" twice. I fixed it. I'll try and get more of Jack Denham up soon, but not today, I've got a party to go to later, and I'm watching an extinction special on Discovery channel right now.
-
Very festive, packraptor! :santa2:
-
Awesome! I love it!:reindeer:

Lovely! I love the tweleve day sof Christmas!
And 'FIVE WOLVERIIIINES' sounds so much like 'FIVE GOLD RINGS' - it fits perfectly! :woot:
-
Very good song! Also good story. Can't wait to see what happens next! (well, I can wait, but I don't want to) :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

-
The 12 days of christmas is cute! I showed it to my family and they all giggled till they were sore. Great Pics too!
-
Thanks for your replies everyone. Merry Christmas too all of you. And since it's Christmas, my present to all of you is a sneak peek at a future resident of the park.
-
Is that a triceratops?
-
I never forget an eye! I think its a Komodo Dragon! OOooooh can't wait Packraptor!
-
komodo or megalania
-
Hmmm..... yeah, Megalania.
-
It looks like it's either a Megalania, Sarcosuchus, or some predatory dinosaur. That's just me, though.
-
Sorry, but I don't use user downloads, which makes this a little more interesting, at least how I'm gonna use my extinct animals.
Unless he changed his mind, it isn't a megalania.
-
well you never now king Hoopla,it is increasing hard scince is this far in his story not to ue user created animals.
-
it may just be a small Megalania.
-
it may just be a small Megalania.
And BINGO! was his name-o!
-
:happyroll:tooth::rofl2::lolol: Man the 12 Days of ZT2 Christmas was hilarious! Great job man! :clapping: <- Look! You made me use the clapping smiley! I don't use it very often!
-
I have never posted here, lol, I sit quietly and listen to all of you. Wierd or not, I'm not much of a social or posting-type person.
But this story needs to keep going. Really. Its like the first time I have ever followed something from this site. Grats Packraptor, you made me type to you all :P
-
Well, if you like it so much, then I guess I should post more, eh?
After watching Elvis sleep for a while, I decided to go check out the newest feature of the reserve, a huge building, built a week before. It was still under construction, but it contained a few indoor pens, allowing me to bring back smaller animals, ones that would easily fall prey to the hawks and other birds of prey native to the area. We also added an exhibit that was half indoors, half outdoors, to keep in medium-sized animals. I couldn't wait to get some more animals for the reserve.
For those of you that guessed what the sneak peek was, it's actually a young Megalania, and like the Avimimus, I used an official animal for it. The Megalania comes in the story much later, but you can all still look forward to it, right?
-
That is such a nice house! I wish I could make them..
-
That looks awesome! That is so cool. You rock Packraptor! I cannot wait to see the animals!
-
YES! i got it right!
-
wow...great job!! its cool how you use only official animals!! (not much different from me actually! i prefer the originals, though i only use the white tiger!!) can't wait to see how you incorporate the official animals into the rest of your story!! keep up the great work!! :flipper: < i just wubb FLIPPER!!(srry, evryone has a favorite smiley, am i right?!?)
-
I only just found this and my fave is the bison. That Elvis was an all-American Rex. Prefered fast food over home food!!
-
come on more story plz!!!!!
-
Well, I'm finally back. After all of the confusion of returning to school, I finally have some time to post up 'muh story. Well, here we go, I think 'yall are gonna like this part.
As I stepped out of our new indoor enclosures, I got a call on my walkie-talkie.
“Jack, come over to the quarantine pens, I’ve got a surprise for 'ya,†my assistant said.
“I’m on my way,†I replied anxiously.
I ran across the reserve, past Elvis’ fissure, past the Styracosaur enclosure, and I even spooked the Avimimus by accident.
When I got there, I couldn’t believe what it was…
-
Carnotaurus!
-
Hmmmmmmmmmm, I had no idea that there actually was a Carnotaurus.... Thought ut was just a made up dino from the movie dinosaur.
-
Nope, real animal. I think they messed up the name a little in that movie though.
-
I love reading your stories along with your pictures!! You really make me want to dl DD now!! ^___^
-
awesome!!! cant wait to see more!
-
Thank you all for your comments, and continuing from the last part:
“Carnotaurus sastrei? H-how did you get it?” I asked.
“Well, you know about the fossil of this guy?” my assistant replied, “well, that fossil is of a Carnotaurus skin impression, and after careful examination by genetic scientists, they extracted DNA from it, and somehow cloned Carnotaurus.”
“That’s cool” I said, taking another look in the pen.
“Wait a minute,” I said aloud, “there’s two of those guys in there!”
“Actually, one’s a guy, the other’s a female.” He replied.
“That’s GREAT!” I said. We’ve got two new animals, a male and a female, now we could study even more of their behaviors.
“That’s not all,” my assistant said, “there different enough in their DNA, that they can breed successfully.”
-
Cool! Breeding cloned extinct animals! I wonder what would heppen if they were released in the wild...
-
Awesome! The pictures remind me of Prehistoric Park!
-
Thank you for making the best dino danger zoo ever! :party5: Sadly I don't have DD so I can't even use dinos.: :( :
-
PackRaptor is the BEST writer ever. Now don't stop writing unless your story comes to the end somehow. Keep up the great work
-
this is like a cross between jurassic park and prehistoric park!anyway awsome pics and story, i check for updates twicee a day!
-
Well, I'm back everyone, and thank you Dinomaster, I also think it's kinda like Jurassic Park and Prehistoric Park. Well, here's some more:
Later that day, the other keepers brought the two carnotaurs to the dinosaur vet office, on our reserve. This time, I decided to go take a look.
While they were giving the dinosaurs their vaccines, they explained to me that the dinosaurs need these vaccines in particular, because they might not have been around in their time, the cretaceous. Diseases like influenza, gastrointestinal diseases, among others.
While they we were releasing them to their new enclosure, we all decided to give them the names Dragon, for the male, and Agatha, for the female.
They immediately went to the food we placed for them, they were obviously hungry, even though we fed them the day before. This showed that carnotaurus had a warm-blooded metabolism, because if it had a cold-blooded metabolism, it wouldn’t need to eat so much, and so often. We just kept learning more and more about the biology of dinosaurs.
-
Cool!I guess studying dinos is easier with living examples. Just don't put the palentologists out of work.
-
I had never heard pf prehistoric park before. Where can I watch the full episodes of it?
-
It's on Animal Planet, unless they stopped showing it.
-
Yeah, it was on Animal Planet, and I doubt they'll show it again for a while. I hope it becomes available in the U.S. soon, 'cause I wanna see it again. Anyway, I'm in a pretty good mood today, because I'm gonna post some more of the story!
“Jack, the time portal is ready†my assistant told me. It was time, time for another adventure, another adventure to the unknown, the mysterious, the past. To a time before man, to a time before civilization, to a time long ago.
“Alright, fire her up!†We flipped the switches, and…
The front of the machine closed, then opened, revealing an ancient world. We were back in the Cretaceous, but this time, we were somewhere completely new. We were at an ancient beach!
“Uh, I guess I kinda got the coordinates wrong,†the machine’s operator said. I wanted to go to ancient Kansas, but where were we now?
-
Mabye they're at the inland sea that cut across North America during the Cretaceous period.
-
kansas was mostly under water anyway. wasent it?
-
Mabye they're on a corner that was dry.
-
whouldent make much diffrent if you were on kansas, all the states near the inland sea are mostly the same.
-
maybe they're in Cretaceous Mongolia or something. or they could be on the shores of an ancient ocean, like it said in the story...
-
Great zoo! U should put it up for download here at ZA!
-
omg....so awesome!! you probably are at the shore of an ancient ocean. i mean, afterall, the continents did move didnt they?!?! thats wut i think.
-
he said there on a aceint beach...that means there on the aceint beach, unless its a plot twist.
-
Well, we won't tell until we get more screenies! : :P :
-
mabey he's by the inland sea? Think of the possibilities. Archelon, deinosuchus.
-
Hello everyone. I was gonna post earlier today, but I had homework, dinner, and I also had to get a picture for the screenshot contest. And for those of you who were trying to figure out what happens next, you'll just have to read this bit riiiiiiiiiiiiiighhhht.......... HERE!!!
“Apparently, we’re not in Kansas……. at all,” my assistant said.
“Actually, we are,” our Paleontologist, corrected him, “in the late cretaceous, all of the mid-west United States was an inland sea.”
“Really?” my assistant replied.
“Yes,” the Paleontologist said, “it was called the Western Interior Seaway, and it’s also known by several other names, like the Cretaceous Seaway, and the North American Inland Sea.”
“All I know is that it’s also known as ‘Heck’s Aquarium’, because of all the dangerous predators in there,” I said.
NOTE: I took the 'Heck's Aquarium' part from a special by Nigel Marvin, called Chased By Sea Monsters, so I'm not entirely sure that it's really called that.
-
Yay! I was right! Wonder what's in there?
-
Great story =P
Off topic: Im watching Prehistoric Park S:1
-
:specool: i'd say there are dinosucus the giant anchiet crocodile
-
Hey! I've got alot of free time today, (thank you teachers, and your lack of homework today, or- lack of remembering to give us homework). Well, I might post later today, but for now I'll just post this...
In front of us was a small lagoon, a beautiful sight.
“What’s that?†my assistant shouted, pointing to something in the water.
“I don’t know, do you?†I asked the paleontologist.
“I think I know what it is, it’s-
-
Dinosuchus the prehistoric crocodile
-
Actually it's *ell's Aquarium. :badgnome:
I think it's a giant turtle.
-
Its a Prehistoric Marine Animal :sign_lol:
I think its Cuddly Panda's animal the GIANT turtle
-
its the DEVIL!:badgnome:
-
This is very creative and well thought up.Good job on the plot and wording.Maybe if you wrote enough it could become a small book?
-
I agre with Zoocrazyman a book would be great to make,it could be like a little capter book :sign_lol:
-
omg...i wonder what it is!! youre only using the official animals so i wonder what it is!! this is a toughie!!! =)
-
it's a turtle I can see the shell:whistling :sweatingb
-
Hey, ya know what? More of Jack Denham: Dinosaur Hunter!
“It’s an Archelon.†the paleontologist said.
“An Archy-what?†my assistant asked.
“Archelon, the giant sea turtle, a creature that could grow to be thirteen feet long or so, and was prey to creatures such as the massive mosasaurs that lived in the ocean. Archelon was also closely related to the modern leatherback sea turtle.â€
“Hey! Let’s catch it!†I shouted, and ran to the water and dove in, forgetting about the many dangers of the late cretaceous oceans.
“Jack, no!†the paleontologist shouted.
I swam towards the massive turtle, which was over seven feet long, still a juvenile. It was quite comfortable with my presence, probably because it had no predators my size.
The Archelon was incredibly graceful, looking as though it was flying through the lagoon, small fish swimming in the current it created.
I was so entranced in it’s beauty, that I forgot that I was underwater, and had to come up for air.
“Guys! This thing is awesome!†I shouted to my teammates.
I dove underwater again, and the Archelon was gone…
-
Cool! Mabye you could use a penguin or something for a hesperoinis.
-
I would have, but they are too different in bone structure. Hesperornis had a long neck, penguins have short ones. Hesperornis also had smaller flippers (wings) in proportion to their body size.
Here are some comparison pics
-
you used birds for dinos that had HANDS, not wings.
-
Yes, I know, but Avimimus might have had feathers on it's arms, which could have covered up it's hands, like a bird's wing. I kinda based all of that off of caudipteryx and archaeopteryx, which had feathers similar to those of birds on it's arms.
Kinda like this pic
-
DinoMania none of my animals are out yet and I never made a GIANT turtle. Plus Packraptor doesn't want to use user-made downloads.
By the way I used your username (Packraptor) when I went bowling! (the little screen that shows score and who's go it is).
-
You won, right? 'Cause if you didn't.......... I might not post some of the story today, although, I probobly will. And as far as user downloads go: I probobly will use them eventually, probobly after Zoo Tycoon stops making expansions and downloads, that way, I can have all of the official ones, and then have some extras. I especially like Silesian Tomcat's downloads, and I will probobly go straight to them.
Whoa, I used the word 'probobly' a whole bunch.
-
I meant to say was the animal you sujested what was Giant Turtle..XP
-
Cough, cough:
“Darnet!†I shouted, “where could it have gone to?â€
“Jack, I think it went off to find food,†the paleontologist said, “if you didn’t notice, there aren’t any jellyfish in that lagoon.â€
“Why jellyfish?†I asked.
“Well, since Archelon was alot like the leatherback sea turtle, it can be assumed that it lived a similar lifestyle.â€
“Well then, we’ll just have to go get us some jellyfish!†I suggested.
We went swimming in the waters off the coast, trying to find some jellyfish. Luckily, we had nets for catching small animals, which worked fairly well for catching the jellies, because we caught quite a few.
We brought the jellyfish back to the lagoon, and found a spot to set up a trap. It was a small tidal pool that was mostly cut off from the rest of the lagoon. We tied our jellyfish to rocks (very carefully, of course), and set them in the pool. We were ready to set the trap…
-
I think it will work.
(Just a tip, if you wanted to you can change the size of animals so the Megalania might be larger, or whatever animal might be smaller)
-
I hope the Archelon eats jellies...
-
I'm 99.9999 % sure they do. Since they're related to leatherbacks...
-
Yeah And in the fossils they look alike alot
-
how do u take screenshots not using the camera?
-
Hit the printscreen button. Use the [topic=5628]Search[/topic] feature for more information
-
awesome!! cant wait to see more!!!! =]
-
Well, it's been a little while, and I've been busy with other stuff, (making a MySpace Profile, building an AWESOME zoo on ZT2, going hiking in the woods near my house) but I've got some more of Jack Denham: Dinosaur Hunter ready.
The next morning, we came back to the pool. Bad news, all but one of the jellyfish were gone. Luckily, all it took was one jellyfish to do the job.
We waited for hours, and finally something happened…
-
What Happened?!
-
You'll see. I've got great news, and some of you probobly know what it is...
Since the new extinct animal expansion has been confirmed, I can make even more stories with them, and I'll actually be able to use the official animals. This is great, I just hope that it comes out soon, because I'm too excited, I think I'll just go run fifty laps. Let's go!
*comes back five seconds later* done!
-
*twitch* Please kind sir, what happened? Okay, good cop over. Tell me what happened next or else! *Shines flashlight on face* Ow! My eyes! Okay, okay. Post when your good and ready. I can be patient. *5 seconds* Patiencents running out... *twitch*
-
I WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!!!!!!!:pout:
-
Well, here's Jack Denham: Dinosaur Hunter. I'm gonna try and make this story last as long as possible, at least until the Extinct Expansion comes out. I had alot of Ideas for more recent extinctions, but I hope that the expansion has them.
After waiting for several hours, watching the fish swim by, and the pterosaurs swoop ahead, the Archelon finally made it’s way into the trap.
We were waiting, we were stoked, we were gonna get this turtle…
-
good job using official animals as extinct animals- it seem simmpossible, but you make it work:original:
-
Wow. Very cool story.:specool:
-
The turtle arrives! You will catch it. You MUST catch it! You can't not catch it!...can you?
-
Its a Jellyfish of a story XP :sign_lol:
-
Well, I guess I'll just post this.
It got closer, closer, closer. The turtle was making a beeline straight for that jellyfish, right according to plan. Luckily, that morning, we put out some netting, supported by thick posts in the sand, to help funnel the turtle into the trap.
The turtle inspected the entrance, probably deciding whether or not to enter it.
“Come on, come on…â€
The Archelon entered the trap, and…
-
Woo Hoo You got it..I think, YaY go You XP
-
Yay! Now you just have to put in the last bit of the trap!
-
Well, I guess I'll just post the conclusion of this part. But don't worry, I'll probobly post some more of this epic tale tommorrow. See, I used epic, a 'fancy' word.
We quickly ran into the shallow water, filling in the last bit of the trap, capturing the massive turtle!
“Yes!†I shouted, “we got it!â€
“Yeah, but-uh, how are we gonna get it to the time portal, Jack?†my assistant asked.
That was a problem. How would we move a turtle, weighing close to- if not, weighs more than - a ton?
Luckily, we were prepared for something like this. We had plenty of cargo containers in the time portal, and some had wheels. We had one that worked perfectly for the Archelon, and brought it inside.
-
Yay! You caught a prehistoric turtle!
-
Well, I just decided to post this pic before it became too outdated. This is what is in the PARK so far, not all that I have caught. This is not a picture of the actual dinosaur reserve, I just felt like showing all of the animals together.
-
eh! one of the birds is running off!
-
Cool! I can't wait for more! If you ever need help making a plotline, or pick an animal, I'm here! :)
-
Cool!!!!!! to bad u couldnt get a mate for the turtle.:pout:
-
But you never know it could still laid eggs if it already mated =]
Once again Great, Super, cool Story
-
I don't think it could have mated, it's a juvinile.
-
Still :Sign_lol:
-
awesome!!! another great addition to your park! :original:
-
Thanks everyone. I'll post this here, and see what you all think. Please, don't hesitate to post, I like to read what y'all have to say.
After we put the Archelon in the time portal, we decided to go farther inland. We didn’t come here just for a turtle.
After hours of walking, we came upon a massive waterfall, and a huge forest, filled with conifers. In the Late Cretaceous, in this area, conifers were the dominant plant life, but a few others existed, clinging to the Earth for nutrients.
We looked to the sky, and noticed a majestic pterosaur, soaring on the warm thermals. Oh how we longed to catch it, and bring it back, but we had no way of keeping it, and no way of catching it.
-
cool but please you have to use simbas animals when they comeout they look official its a brachiosaur and the a pack with extinct mammals and birds unless zt2 extinct arrives first
-
ooooh.....i wonder what youre gonna find next!
-
Well, I guess I'll just go ahead and reach the next major part of the story.
We wandered around the area for a few hours, and finally came upon something magnificent.
We looked down from the cliff we were at, and saw one of the most famous dinosaurs of all time, Triceratops. We saw something very strange, though. There were two kinds of Triceratops in front of us. One that was green, and had long horns, and another that was brown, and has smaller horns.
“Jack, it looks like we discovered two species of Triceratops!” my assistant said.
“Maybe,” I replied.
We needed to catch these animals, we would have two species of Triceratops…
Editor's Note: Yes, I know that they're the same species, just play along, it will all make sense later.
-
oooooohhhhh....AWESOME!!! thats a great idea making it seem as if they are two different species! cant wait to see what happens next!!
-
Well, if you liked that, then you'll probobly love what I have in store for this story.
“Alright guys,†I said, “let’s ease our way down there, and get a better look of those animals.â€
We stealthily walked down the hill, towards the large beasts. When we got down, we noticed that the dinosaurs were completely oblivious to us, and were entirely focused on eating.
-
cool i wonder what youll do next ?
-
oooohh...is food running scarce? thats probably why they're looking for food! be careful though!!
-
YAY!!!! Triceratops, i love those guys
-
New Kind of Triceratops Ooooo
Off Topic- Theres Now Walking With Monsters from Walking With Dinosaurs And Beasts-Now the time before the dinos
-
You got the Archelon! Try to think of the Triceratops as a large rhinoceros - it probably couldn't see too well.
DinoMania, Walking with Monsters has been out for more than a year now. It's no longer new. I have the DVD - it's awesome! Dimetrodon, Edaphosaurus, all those weird creatures.
-
I just saw an add saying its new i never heard of it...:paperbag:
-
I have the DVD - it's awesome! Dimetrodon, Edaphosaurus, all those weird creatures.
Darn! You're lucky! I wanted it for Christmas, but I still got all of the other Walking With specials, except for cavemen. Well, I'll try and update later tonight, but I do have some other stuff to do. Just a quick question, what animal do you think Jack will get next?
*HINT* it's not Triceratops, at least not yet. A word of advice, please follow Yellowrose's warning, and don't just post your guess.
-
Sme sort of Pterosaur or small mammal like animals?
-
No, not yet. You all will find out sooner or later.
We got as close as we dared, and watched the dinosaurs for a while. We learned what they were eating. The Triceratops were all eating tough shrubs, and not some of the softer plants around. The trikes were eating this stuff, probably because of their sharp beaks. Other animals of this time ate softer foods (the ankylosaurs) and food that was higher up (certain hadrosaurs).
-
i wonder why theyre not eating the soft stuff...srry if its rlly obvious, im just not that big on dinos and prehistoric stuff, SeaWorld is more my game!!
-
Ceratopsids (horned dinosaurs with frills) had hard beaks and hard teeth, great for grinding plants. Their frills were also anchors for powerful jaw muscles, which would have aided them in eating tough food. Ankylosaurs (armored dinosaurs with tail clubs) had smaller jaw muscles and less efficient teeth, at least for eating tough food. Hadrosaurs (the duck-billed dinosaurs) were the greatest at chewing, though, and probobly ate things like pine needles, and other plants. I also just kinda felt like saying this, but, I have an ankylosaur tooth, it's pretty cool, and you can see why it's not very good at grinding, it's more peg-shaped.
-
Can you show a pic of the tooth? XP
-
Okay. I got it in Georgia, along with a few of my other fossils. I have two ammonites, an icthyosaur vertebrae, a few fossil shark teeth, a sand dollar fossil, along with a few pounds worth of fossilized clams.
But, back on topic with Jack Denham. I'll give you all a hint as to what the next animal is: it's a carnivore.
-
smilodon?
-
Woah great findings, you did found thoughs or given?...And to badis you cant get smilodon in the cretaceous period or can you -checks- No sorry LoL
-
I bought them. They sure were expensive, I had to save up for a long time. And no, it's not a smilodon, they don't live in the cretaceous. heh.
Edit: I found the clam fossils, and the sand dollar, but I bought most of the other stuff. I got the shark teeth from my parents.
-
Cool XP
-
whats in the tank?
My guesses are:
dienosuckus
-
My gecko lives in the terrarium. I've got alot in store for Jack Denham, and will probobly post some more tommorow.
-
I never knew ankylosaur teeth were that big.
-
ooohhh....cant wait to see more! koool....u got those in GA...thats where I live!! what a coinkydink!!
-
Cool tooth!
-
Well, I think I'll bring this thread back on topic, I don't wanna let it get closed again.
We got closer to the Triceratops herd than we had ever imagined. We hid in one of the nearby bushes, to camouflage ourselves. We got so close, that we could smell them.
One of the green trikes moved towards us, but luckily, it didn’t notice our presence. That’s when I smelled it.
It was the same musty smell I had smelled when I was attacked by a Triceratops the last time I was in the Cretaceous.
“Ugh,†I whispered to my team, “remember that that?â€
“Yeah, Jack, just don’t spook this one.â€
-
awesome!!! the suspense is incredible!!! :original:
-
Thank you, I appreciate that you post here so often. Anyway, just as a little tension breaker:
“Oops†I heard my assistant say.
“Oh no, what did you do now?†I asked.
“Uhhhh…., I stepped in something.â€
“Oh, come on man, watch where ‘ya step.†I said, “you know what, let’s move on a little bit, we’ll be able to find these guys later.â€
We walked for a long time, and came upon an awesome beast. It was the largest crocodilian ever to live, the mighty Deinosuchus. Luckily, this one appeared to be a youngster, a mere twelve feet long, if you could call it a youngster.
“It looks like a young female to me,†I said, “I worked with crocodilians before I got into this dinosaur business, and I can kinda tell them apart.â€
No matter what it’s gender was, the reptile was magnificently beautiful, as it slowly slid into the small pond nearby.
-
a pond full of primitive fish:original:
awesome show and tell, using only official animals, you make us beleive they are extinct animals. ur awesome
-
you should bring back the fish too breed and clone them to both show them as attractions and food for the deinosuchus
-
youre welcome!! i like your story!!! its the best!
-
Yes, ur stories rock:original::zorro:
-
Your stories rock this world XP
-
you have a grat story keep going
-
I told u it was a Deinosuchus
-
Great Story Once again its like you were really there XP
Off-Topic: Im Dont scoop poop any more lol
101 Post XP
-
Well, just to bump this a little:
We watched the great saurian swim in the water, so very majestically. We were gonna catch this thing.
We planned out a clever trap…..
What will happen next?
-
Wow, those pictures are really cool, so are the stories. I couldn't imagine doing this with just official animals, so congrats on creativity too!
-
*jaw pops open*Holy cheesed noodle!!!!!!
u r awesome at this stuff!
Off Topic:how do u post pics on the site?
-
Go to "Add Reply", click on the paper clip in the options, go from there.
-
I know what'll happen! You'll catch it!
-
omg....its soooooo awesome!!!! i hope that u catch it! if u can catch a T-rex, u can catch this no prob!!!! can't wait to see more!! luvin it!!! =]
-
BTW,r u gonna get a mate for Elvis?
-
Hmmm.... maybe, maybe not, you'll just have to find out. Well, I'll post this for now, it's the next big cliff hanger...... thing.
We got out our supplies. We had several hundred feet of thick, cord, and several axes. We chopped down a few trees, to use as posts for our clever trap.
I based the trap off of one of the most simple of all, the minnow trap. The point is, that the animal comes through one end and is funneled into an area, where it can’t really get out of, forcing it to stay.
We baited it with a few chunks of meat, hoping that our new quarry would come…
-
=o I wonder if it works, Hope it dose, a simple but clever plan!!
-
cool trap!!!!!!:specool:
-
if i had looked at the pick before reading the post, i would have tought it was a beefed up version of the dienocusucs trap on prehistoric park!lol, anyway, keep it goin!
-
Well, if it don't work the first time, you'll probably catch it next time.
-
im sure that you'll catch it!! like i said, if u can catch a T-Rex, you can catch this!!! after all, its just a juvenile!
-
Yep! Straight from Prehistoric Park, I think!
(Hope it goes better though)
-
Yep! Straight from Prehistoric Park, I think!
(Hope it goes better though)
ha ha yah!:original:
-
cool trap
-
I agree, nice trap. Just be sure to close it so the croc won't escape.
-
Thanks fur all of your comments everyone. Be sure to vote for me in the screenshot contest, hehehe.
After hours of waiting, bored out of our minds, the young leviathan made her way out of the pond. She smelled the meat, and was apparently very hungry.
She eased her way in and…….
-
!!! Its going in!!! :happyroll Must find way to contain myself before next post so I don't get whinny... :juggle: *Hits submit post before goes crazy*
-
Cool!!!! :specool: I hope yall catch it
Off Topic: Soon Ill be upload a gator farm on here so look out for it!!!!!
-
Hold on, hold on, I'll post more.
“Yes, Yes, Yes…†I said, hardly able to contain myself.
Then, all of a sudden, the crocodile turned around, heading back to the water!
“NOOOO!†I shouted in frustration, “we were so close!â€
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Darn it!!!!:pout: :surprise:
-
Wow!You did this with only official animals!Awesome job!
-
I'll bet you try again a few times and get it!
-
Great Story :)
-
Well, here goes. Who can guess what happens next?
“AAAAGGGHHH!!!†I shouted.
“Jack, what are you doing!?†my assistant shouted, as I ran towards the water where the crocodilian was concealed.
I plunged into the water, and swam up to the mighty animal.
I was an expert on crocodilians, second only to the Crocodile Hunter himself, Steve Irwin, and I knew what could happen if I did this.
-
Do you get eaten? j/k I think you wrestle the croc to shore and capture it.
-
Swimming with a huge 15-40 feet long croc, Hmmm a stunt that should be througt out, but if your a expert YOU should do fine  anyways again Great Story and i do hope you catch that crocodylia!
-
I think that this is the end of Jack Denham. By the way, this isn't a normal alligator. Its over 50 feet, I don't think you can wreasle (sp?) it... X(
-
Remember, it's a juvinile.
-
Nooooooooooooooo Jack!!!! Don't Do it!!!!!:sweatingb
-
This is a sweet story. I love it:specool:
P.S. Grab the jaws while the mouth is closed. Since it might be like modern crocs with weaker opening musseles than closing musseles.
-
Holy Poopsmith!!
Jack's gone SUICIDE!!
-
Ooh! What will happen! :juggle:
-
Sorry it's been so long everyone, I've been hanging out at Dinomaster30's website, and I've had some stuff to do for school. Oh, and be sure to vote for me in the screenshot cotnest hehehe. But, anyway, I think you'll find out what happens to Jack in this installment of: Jack Denham: Dinosaur Hunter!
I swam right beside of the awesome reptile, and got her attention. I tried to make it seem like I was intruding in on her territory. She turned on me, just as I had planned. Now, I hoped, that I could swim faster than she could, at least for a little bit.
I swam to shore, as fast as I could, and when I clambered on, and ran into the trap, she burst from the water, running at an incredible speed.
I rounded the corner of the trap, and jumped out, just as the croc was rounding the bin, snapping at my heels as I escaped.
-
Ohhh...close one! I told you you'd get it!
-
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just make sure u close the entrance to the trap!:original: :woot:
-
that was INCREDIBLE!!! u caught it!! yay!! ur such a great story maker/teller!! can't wait for more!!
-
You'v nearly got her XP
And hope she dosen't go out again =D
-
Well, it's a nice day, so I'll post more.
We quickly shut the end of the trap, and went back to look at our great catch. The deinosuchus was extremely angry. She hissed, growled, and thrashed around insanely.
It was getting late, and we still wanted to catch a few more animals. We were too far from the time portal to camp out there, so we subdued the deinosuchus, and carried her with us to a spot we had passed earlier. We were about to set up camp, when we heard some small movements in the thick underbrush nearby…
-
Cool!:specool: What else are ya'll going to catch?:hmmm:
-
Heres a better question. Whats he NOT going to catch? And even better, what COULDN'T he catch? Go Jack Denham!
-
awesum!!! this is great!! another fine addition to your park! you should seriously think about publishing this story! lol....that would be awesum!! :original:
-
AWESOME pictures!:surprise: :surprise: :surprise: :surprise: :surprise: :surprise:

'Sup everyone. I finally found my old show & tell after stumbling around this site like a blindfolded gorilla. Well, sorry that I don't have pics anymore, but good news: I joined photobucket recently, and I can still post pics. I'll try and get some of the story up tommorrow. One quick thing I feel like saying: I just got back from my friend's play, Dear Edwina. That was funny, and she sure can sing good.
-
as always, awsome story and awsome pics, too bad that now we cant go back and look at some old pics, but the new ones will probably be much bettet! :viking1:

Yay! Might I suggest a Megalodon hunt?
Shush! Anyway, sorry for the lack of updates. I been hangin' out at an awesome site called Jurassic Jungle, and I just joined Seaworldgurl1's website. Can anyone guess what the next animal Jack encounters will be?

Megaladon???
If not, then how about.........hmmmmmm...................hmmmmmmmmmm...........hmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........
I got it! It's a....nah.........hmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
I got it! The next animal, if not Megaladon, is a Basilosaurus/Zeguladon(sp?)! (Dunno, how you'll actually show it though)

So far everyone has guessed: ICORRECTLY!!! Hahaha! Sorry for not updating lately, I've joined a bunch of other sites, and I've made on of my own. Hey, I wouldn't mind if any of you joined. It's a pretty cool site. Me and my best friend, The-Ebot (that's not his real name) run the site. I'll try and update pretty soon. I just have alot of stuff to do. If you want to check out my website, just go into my signature, it's the last line.
-
Hmm... an ice age creature of any sort? That Megalania? dinosaur of any sort? Hint please! Considering 99.9999999% of animals are extinct.
-
saber tooth tiger?
-
I'll give you a hint: Read this:
“Yo! You guys set up a temporary camp here. My assistant an I will go check out what’s movin’ around in that underbrush.” I said to my team, as I walked to where I saw the movement.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u214/packraptor/Zoo%20Tycoon%202/underbrush.jpg (http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u214/packraptor/Zoo%20Tycoon%202/underbrush.jpg) Thick Underbrush
-
scary isnt it? :D
-
micro raptor?
-
Ohh... will it attack?
-
0o0o0o0o0o0o! SCARY! I wonder what will happen next!
-
Velociraptor? Oviraptor?
-
Carnotaurus! Am I right?
-
how could it be any of those raptors?
1.they haven't been made yet
2.both of those raptors lived in deserts
i still think its either microraptor, achreopteryx,or eocene walking with prehistoric beasts(the one with propaleotherium, ambulocetas(sp?),and gastronis)
-
Apparently some of you are not familiar with Late Cretaceous North America.
1) Velociraptor & Oviraptor lived in Asia
2) Carnotaurus lived in South America (and I already have a pair of them)
3) I'm missing one of the most successful genera of all extinct animals. I'll give you all a hint: unsuccessful in the Mesozoic, extremely successful in the Cenozoic.
-
Umm... I think... umm... field trip to wikipedia!
Later that day: After careful consideration, I'd have to say the Mosasaur. Its aquatic, lived in the Cretaceous (which was in the late Mesozoic) and lived in north America. GO WIKIPEDIA!!!! And me! And Jack Denham! And (goes on for hours) :jumpflow:
-
hmmmm, i dont have a clue, but awesome story!
or could it be
MAMMALS!!!
-
Wow! Nice Photos Packraptor!
where are the PHOTOS!!!
-
hmmmm, i dont have a clue, but awesome story!
or could it be
MAMMALS!!!
BINGO!!!
We searched through the thick undergrowth, and that’s when we saw it.
“Wait.” I said, staring at the creature. It was a small mammal, clinging to life in a reptilian world. We couldn’t tell what kind it was, but we knew we could catch it.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u214/packraptor/Zoo%20Tycoon%202/wait.jpg (http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u214/packraptor/Zoo%20Tycoon%202/wait.jpg)

Yes! Mesozoic mammals! They look small, but without them none of us would be talking about them!
-
yeah, i got it! but what kind will it be????
:goodjob: on ur story
-
Hmm... looks like... BAMBOO!!
And whats this? Oh yeah ,MORE BAMBOO!!!
Oh wait, I see it! Its... oh no wait, its just bamboo... AGAIN!!!
I must know what it is, its driving me NUTS!!! :loony:
No really, Awesome post P.R.
-
Hey, I only used the bamboo because there was no other kind of thick vegetation in the game.
Can anyone guess what kind of mammal it is? I'll give you a hint: it appeared in a BBC production.
-
Didelphodon?
Nice story, PR! Keep it up!
-
Didelphodon is a good guess, Snowstalker!
If it's from the age of mammals, then Lepiticidium is my best guess, though I think snowstalker got it.
-
Saber Toothed Squirrel!!!! I win!
-
There's two mammals in WWD: Steropodon and Didelphodon. My guess is Didelphodon, as Steropodon was not from this place.
-
Is it a Leptictidium? It was in Walking with Prehistoric Beasts, the sequel to Walking with Dinosaurs.
-
But it wasn't from this time or place.
-
Saber Toothed Squirrel!!!! I win!
Saber Toothed Squirl? Come on!
-
That isn't a real animal.
-
in the world of animation it is bt not here
-
Very true. I've compiled a list of prehistoric mammals in the Walking With... Series:
Steropodon
Didelphodon
Leptictidium
Ambulocetus
Eurotamandua
Cynodictis
Embolotherium
Andrewsarchus
Basilosaurus
Moeritherium
Godinotia
Apidium
Dorudon
Indricotherium
Hyaenodon
Entelodon
Chalicotherium
Deinotherium
Australopithecus
Dinofelis
Ancylotherium
Smilodon
Megatherium
Doedicurus
Macrauchenia
Mammuthus
Coelodonta
Megaloceros
Panthera
Homo
Elasmotherium
Arsinoitherium
Pachycrocuta
Odobenocetops
The result? Only Steropodon and Didelphodon are from the Cretaceous, and only Didelphodon could have coexisted with Deinosuchus. So it's almost certainly a Didelphodon.
-
Yeah, guess I forgot Lep... tic... whatever, was AFTER dinosaurs.
My bad :duh:
-
Saber Toothed Squirrel!!!! I win!
My good man (or woman), by any chance are you referring to "Scrat", that OH SO ANNOYING  little squirrel, rat, THING from "ICE AGE"
-
Eh, Scrat was okay.
Yeah, Didelphadon's a good guess. It'll probably be using the Ratel for a base, but I wouldn't be too surprised by a Wolverine.
-
Hey, I only used the bamboo because there was no other kind of thick vegetation in the game.
Can anyone guess what kind of mammal it is? I'll give you a hint: it appeared in a BBC production.
Sorry about complaining about the bamboo, I just REALLY want to know what we're going to see.
:goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:
-
Hmmm.... What could that be in the bamboo. :budgie:
-
I think it's a Didelphadon.
-
It's almost certainly a Didelphodon. Didelphodon is the only mammal in the Walking With... Series that is from this place and time.
-
It probly is a Didelphodon, fossil show they lived in the late Cretaceous period, in N.America and once found inside a Deinosuchus fossil :faint :slol: TELL US =P
:goodpost: Hope you post soon!
-
I've always loved this story!
PS: I can't guess cause I'm only a modern animal expert :boohoo:
PPS: Did you notice prehisttoric parks are getting more popular?
-
They sure are. My first zoo posted here was a prehistoric zoo...
