The name's Denham, Jack Denham, and I'm a dinosaur hunter. To some, it may sound strange, but to me, it is very real.

I started out as a zoologist, but when the boss of a company called DPF, the Department of Prehistroic Fauna, called me, he suggested I come meet him.

I did, and he told me of his time bending portal. It had been tested already, and worked amazingly. He asked me if I was up to a challenge, and this challenge was to create and maintain a small breeding center of long-extinct animals.  I took the job, and he put me in charge of everything.

This is my story...

About a week later, he escorted me to a large tract of land. It was far from any civilization, and had no interaction with the outside world, except for that of a long road leading to- Heh, sorry, I can't tell you where this place is.

We started work on the exhibits that would one day hold the massive beasts, and we had used the natural resources to our advantage.  We surrounded a small hardwood forest with thick electrical fencing, to keep in the animals.  We put a small fence around a large fissure in the ground, which would one day become the home of an animal that would change my life, or possibly end it...

We continued construction for another five months, and when it was done, I was ready for the adventure...

Sorry, but I don't use user downloads, which makes this a little more interesting, at least how I'm gonna use my extinct animals.

RAAK! RAAK! The birds of the late cretaceous filled the jungle with noise. The steamy atmosphere made my skin sweat. During this time, the planet was much, much hotter. I was in what would one day become Montana, but now it was the home of dinosaurs.

Yes, I know, but it's the best I could do with ZT2.

The bushes nearby rustled, and my team and I crouched, guns poised, ready for attack. Out from the underbrush came the beak of an animal. But this was no bird's beak, this was the beak of a dinosaur.

My team quietly crept back, as the creature emerged from the forest. I noticed it to be a cerotopsian, a horned dinosaur. It had long spines on it's frill, and a long horn above it's beak. Styracosaurus, I thought, Styracosaurus albertensis, to be precise. Styracosaurus was a close relative of Triceratops, but it was smaller. When it came into full view, it did not run, nor did it show any signs of aggression. Possibly because we smelled of mammals, which, at this time, were all very small, about the size of possums.

You could always just use dirt, which has less grass. Otherwise great story Packraptor.

The dinosaur watched us for a while, then made a bellow-grunt, and a few more of them came into view. I could tell that this was a small herd of animals, led by a pair of males. There were only four of them, two males and two females. They probobly strayed from the main group to forage for food.

Sorry for editing the last post, I found out that one of the pics was supposed to go here instead.

I hate to prove you wrong, but quite recently, paleontologists found fossil grass that dated back to the late cretaceous, it was already highly evolved

Seventy five million years after I saw the Styracosaurs, my team was herding them into their new exhibit, in the hardwood forest of the reserve. We had been watching them for quite some time, and we already had names for them. The first one we saw, which was one of the males, seemed to be the most dominant of them all, so we named him Sergeant. We named the other male, who preferred to hang out with the females more, "The Lady's Man", or TLM, for short. The two females were named Thelma and Louise, as they acted like the intrepid duo.

Well, if you want guests in your zoo, you'll have to tell someone where it is eventually. :rofl2:  Serously, great story so far. Can't wait to read more.
